Try this one for size. It is a basic summary of the thread thus far.
Despite the white supremacist contactees and the racketeers that are the I AM Activity being spiritually vacuous, politically retarded and philosophically backward they do continue to have some level of influence.
What we see in post 1920s America is the emergence of two kinds of new religious movement that merged together, capitilising not only on pro nazi anti semitic fervour but with the public's fascination with UFOs, especially from the 1940's onwards. The Ballard's and others became the new 'messiahs' promising immortality and ascension long before David Wilcock was soiling his diapers.
It is with the fusion of all these movements that we see for the first time the birth of the UFO cult, or for want of a better term, alienism.
Pelley is still revered as Americas modern mystic by some. Both his and latterly George Hunt Williamson' mixture of mysticism, automatic writing, channeling and fascism led them to become the self styled messiahs of a new America, free of the influence of Jewry and the gradual elimination, repatriation and exclusion of those deemed to be of inferior race.
The Ballards capatilised on this and Guy Ballard's fictitious stories (partially plagiarised) lent an element of romanticism and religious authority and belief in America as the new 'promised land'. The Gods of the Ballard's and the contactees were blonde haired blue eyed super beings. Thus they are still depicted today by all manner of alien contactees claiming various things from various beings.
It is with Liebenfel's ariosophy, and the writings of Pelley and Williamson, that have continued to exert influence on neo nazi and white supremacist groups. Pelley's silver shirts was just one of a wave of fascist groups in the United States that went on to influence later right wing extremist groups such as the Aryan Nations and Rockwell's the American Nazi Party. George Van Tassel was an associate of Reverend Wesley Swift, the forefather of the Aryan Nations. British groups such as Combat 18, Stormfront and others all would hold Pelley and Williamson in high esteem as well as the Gnostic Liberation Front.
There are websites available todoy that hail the work of the contactees and a quick google search will reveal them though I am not going to afford them the luxury of a link. The Ballard's legacy also lived on through a variety of incarnations of I AMism which exists in several different splinter groups to this day. Lori Toye, founder of I AM America has been given maps of a future planet. An America, reduced heavily in size will be host to 'Golden Cities' She says America is an anagram for the I AM Race. Perhaps these 'Golden Cities will be populated by Golden haired blonde whites?
Other UFO cults followed, some with a less detectable white supremacist agenda whilst others are plainly bizarre. They still exist today ranging from the sexually liberated human cloning Raelian movement to the psycho babble and extortionately priced science fiction of Anna Hayes.
America is truly unique. In it we see the development of a new religion, mixing sightings of UFOs and meetings with blonde nordic aliens, with automatic writing from aliens who have a right wing agenda. This then merged with fascist politics and the teachings of the mighty I AM toprovide us with a highly fascinating but deeply sinister modern religious phenomena. It went on to influence others.
America also gave us other new religious movements such as Christian Science (bizarrely William Pelley channeled Mary Baker Eddy, founder of Christian Science to make some corrections to her original doctrine) and The Church of Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ. It is the latter that believe in the celestialsation of the planet Earth where humans can live as Gods on the Planet Kolab. The heavenly planet. Now if that isn't sci fi what is? America could soon see its first Mormon president. A sign that the old religions are gone perhaps and that the new religions of the United States are starting to have some real impact. Pelley before him tried and failed. Guy Ballard also had pretensions for leadership.
Interesting times.
