Yes it is, specially in the South. Here where I live we only had snow once in 50 years prior to this century. In the last 10 years we had a little snow but never like this. The whole country is paralized.
I guess that if snow becomes a regular thing people will prepare but because is not it creates a lot of hardship across the board

Ecuador volcano's deadly eruption
The authorities in Ecuador have begun evacuating people from the slopes of the Tungurahua volcano after it started spewing ash.
Scientists say fast-moving currents of extremely hot gas and rock could be seen flowing from the volcano's crater.
Tungurahua, some 135km (85 miles) southeast of the capital, Quito, has been in an active state since 1999.
But experts say there has been a rapid increase in its seismic activity since Saturday morning.
Scientists with the Ecuadorean Institute for Geophysics say the number of explosions has increased. They say the ash cloud has reached 2km (1.2 miles) in height.
People living on the slopes reported the ground and buildings shaking, and a rumbling sound coming from the volcano.
Hot gases and rocks started flowing down the western side of the mountain at mid-morning and ash has been raining down on the villages of Pondoa and Patate.
The authorities have put the region immediately around the volcano under red alert and the security forces are preventing people from entering the area.
The tourist town of Banos is one of those being evacuated.
In 1999, its 15,000 inhabitants were forced to evacuate when the Tungurahua had its last major eruption. Residents were not able to return to their homes for a year.

No post, no rubbish collection...no trains...interesting eh? One will think that after the episode last winter they will be prepared but no, its all about cutting corners
hey, that's my town up there, we got snowed in all right! Lots of chemtrailing beforehand. One of my daughters worked this summer as the lift operator on the steep funicular pictured.

Author claims we're in the grip of a mini ice age - Dec 5 2010 by Mike Kelly, Sunday Sun
AFTER nearly two weeks of snow and sub zero temperatures rivaling those of Siberia, the old joke about global warming being a good thing has had a new lease of life. So what has happened to doom-laden predictions of the world heating up as glaciers melt? Mike Kelly reports. FIRST the good news. These bitter winters aren’t going to last forever. The bad news is that they will go on for the next 30 years as we have entered a mini ice age.
So says author Gavin Cooke in his book Frozen Britain. He began writing it in 2008 and it was published last year when experts were scratching their heads at the cause of the bitter winter of 2009/10 which brought England to a standstill. Some said it was a one-off event, with experts predicting snowfall becoming increasingly rare. Now, 12 months on, the current sub zero spell makes last year look just a bit chilly. Just like kids enjoying ‘snow days’ off school, Gavin ought to be delighted with the cold snap. After all, he can justifiably say ‘I told you so’. But he’s as glum as the rest of us.
“I’m getting sick of it myself,” he said.

Re: EARTH CHANGES 2011 DAILY UPDATES
"The latest satellite data establishes that the North Atlantic Current (also called the North Atlantic Drift) no longer exists and along with it the Norway Current. These two warm water currents are actually part of the same system that has several names depending on where in the Atlantic Ocean it is. The entire system is a key part of the planet’s heat regulatory system; it is what keeps Ireland and the United Kingdom mostly ice free and the Scandinavia countries from being too cold; it is what keeps the entire world from another Ice Age. This Thermohaline Circulation System is now dead in places and dying in others."
http://www.infiniteunknown.net/2010/09/14/life-on-this-earth-just-changed-the-north-atlantic-current-is-
The most current data continues to show a dying of the entire Thermohaline Circulation System in the Atlantic Ocean. This is indicative of the fact that the dispersants have caused the oil to remain in place below the surface, and according to most reports remain in almost full amounts (up to 80%) long after the BP Oil Disaster began. Since there is no current way to remove this massive amount of free flowing oil below the sea at depths up to one mile deep, it is apt to continue to effect any natural recovery of the Thermohaline Circulation System.
So what does this mean? Violent mixing of the seasons, crop failures, and increased drought and floods in diverse places is now daily news since the April 20th 2010 BP Oil Volcano. They have killed the pacemaker of world climate in the worlds of Dr Zangari PhD. Dr Mike Coffman PhD geologist resource climatologist, and Dr Tim Ball PhD climatologist have confirmed that if this data is correct, that an ice age and massive climate shift with famine is now imminent. We are now seeing Russia stop all delivery of wheat crops on prior contracts, and most sources of staple food crops moving worldwide in a crisis of famine. The Gulf Stream and related currents are effectively DEAD. This should enrage the public and bring forth scientists to challenge and support the data and analysis, for the consequences to the civilization of mankind and ecological collapse have global consequence producing famine, death and massive population migration away from zones of advancing ice age and regions unfit for human habitation. Let us get the facts and call the corporate and government to task on these issues now or face worldwide catechisms of biblical proportions. We shall continue to report with new scientific experts on this most important disaster.
The ‘process’ of entering a new Ice Age could begin coming upon us in full force (rather like in the movie “The Day After Tomorrow”) at any time, or it could take three to five year to fully play out with early glaciation beginning in North America and Europe and Asia this winter (both models have existed in the beginnings of different Ice Ages in Earth’s past).

Re: EARTH CHANGES 2011 DAILY UPDATES
Giant Stealth Planet May Explain Rain of Comets from Solar System's Edge
SPACE.com – Sat Dec 4, 9:00 am ET
Our sun may have a companion that disturbs comets from the edge of the solar system — a giant planet with up to four times the mass of Jupiter, researchers suggest.
A NASA space telescope launched last year may soon detect such a stealth companion to our sun, if it actually exists, in the distant icy realm of the comet-birthing Oort cloud, which surrounds our solar system with billions of icy objects.
The potential jumbo Jupiter would likely be a world so frigid it is difficult to spot, researchers said. It could be found up to 30,000 astronomical units from the sun. One AU is the distance between the Earth and the sun, about 93 million miles (150 million km).
Most systems with stars like our sun — so-called class G stars — possess companions. Only one-third are single-star systems like our solar system.
Not a nemesis
Scientists have already proposed that a hidden star, which they call "Nemesis," might lurk a light-year or so away from our sun. They suggest that during its orbit, this red dwarf or brown dwarf star would regularly enter the Oort cloud, jostling the orbits of many comets there and causing some to fall toward Earth. That would provide an explanation for what seems to be a cycle of mass extinctions here.
Still, other astronomers recently found that if Nemesis did exist, its orbit could not be nearly as stable as claimed. Now researchers point to evidence that our sun might have a different sort of companion.
To avoid confusion with the Nemesis model, astrophysicists John Matese and Daniel Whitmire at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette dub their conjectured object "Tyche" — the good sister of the goddess Nemesis in Greek mythology, and a name proposed by scientists working on NASA's Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) space telescope.
It is the WISE observatory that, using its all-seeing infrared eye, stands the best chance of having spotted Tyche, if this companion to the sun exists at all, the researchers said. [WISE telescope's amazing images]
Matese and Whitmire detailed their research Nov. 17 online edition of the journal Icarus.

A storm that will take shape by the middle of December will cross the country and could end up developing into a major snowstorm for portions of the mid-Atlantic and New England.
There are different storm track scenarios at this point that mean the difference between mostly rain or a potential blizzard along the Interstate 95 corridor from Washington, D.C., to Boston.

What happened to the 'warmest year on record': The truth is global warming has halted By DAVID ROSEhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1335798/Global-warming-halted-Thats-happened-warmest-year-record.html
A year ago tomorrow, just before the opening of the UN Copenhagen world climate summit, the British Meteorological Office issued a confident prediction. The mean world temperature for 2010, it announced, 'is expected to be 14.58C, the warmest on record' - a deeply worrying 0.58C above the 19611990 average.
World temperatures, it went on, were locked inexorably into an everrising trend: 'Our experimental decadal forecast confirms previous indications that about half the years 2010-2019 will be warmer than the warmest year observed so far - 1998.'
Met Office officials openly boasted that they hoped by their statements to persuade the Copenhagen gathering to impose new and stringent carbon emission limits - an ambition that was not to be met.

Morocco floods
http://redskynews.com/?p=6988
At least 30 people have been killed in Morocco after heavy rain and floods, official sources said on Tuesday.
The official MAP news agency said 24 people died when a bus carrying them was swept away by a flooding river in the Atlantic coastal town of Bouznika, south of the capital Rabat.
Four people, including three from the same family, died when heavy rain brought down their homes near the central city of Khenifra and in Sale, near Rabat, MAP said.
A young girl drowned on Tuesday in Tiflet, east of Rabat, when she was swept away while trying to cross a bridge. In the north, one man drowned and rescue services were looking for seven other people swept away by a river in flood.
In Casablanca, schools were ordered to shut on Tuesday after Morocco’s biggest city and business centre received a record 18 cm (7 inches) of rain overnight.
The head of Morocco’s state-run weather service, Abdellah Masqat, told 2M television the heavy rain would continue until Thursday.
News footage from state television station Al-Maghribia showed suburbs of Casablanca submerged.
Flag carrier Royal Air Maroc said flights were disrupted from the country’s main airport in Casablanca because flooding on highways and railway tracks prevented some passengers reaching the airport.
In the capital Rabat, people formed long queues in front of a rare working ATM machine after communication systems of some banks were put out of action.

EARTH WOBBLE: Jet Stream shifting southwards plunges Britain into Siberian winter

Icy flow: How the Jet Stream air current has moved south from Europe to Africa
By David Derbyshire - 7th January 2010
The Big Chill that has brought Britain to its knees is being blamed on a change in the position of the jet stream - the fast-moving current of air that moves from west to east, high in the atmosphere.
In a normal British winter - when conditions are mild and soggy - the jet stream lies over northern Europe, at an altitude of between 35,000 to 50,000 feet.
During these grey winters, Britain's prevailing winds come from the west and south west, and bring with them warm and moist air from the sub-tropical Atlantic.
But since mid December, the weather patterns high in the atmosphere have changed. The jet stream has shifted south hundreds of miles and is now positioned over North Africa.
The warm westerlies that usually keep away the snow are now giving the Mediterranean an unusually mild winter. What wind the UK has experienced has come from the frozen north, or from across the cold land masses of Siberia and Eastern Europe.
Helen Chivers, of the Met Office, said: 'Because the jet stream is so far south, we have now got two areas of high pressure bringing cold weather to Britain. One is over Greenland, and the other is over Russia.'
'We are stuck in an area of low pressure between them and we are getting northerly winds from the Arctic and northern Scandinavia,' she added.
'They have moved around a little but when you get these weather patterns things don't move very fast.'
Cold comfort: A man struggles to open the window of his snow-engulfed car near the English-Scottish border
The areas of high pressure act like stones in a stream - blocking the normal flow of milder air from the west and instead forcing colder air from the north down across the UK.
No one knows why the jet stream has shifted so far south. Some researchers believe its location may be linked to the emerging El Nino weather phenomena - where the surface temperatures of the Pacific periodically get warmer.
The cold snap that started in mid December has been the most prolonged spell of freezing conditions across Britain since December 1981.

Re: EARTH CHANGES 2011 DAILY UPDATES
I dunno about the jet stream but I DO know they are chemtrailing like crazy the days preceding the mercury dives. the chems were so blatent and ominous today, before I went outside I felt a gnawing uneasiness, when I got outside, half the sky was full cover large scalar patterns, as was the case the days before the other freeze. The rest of the sky looked like armagedon had commenced without my knowledge. It gets harder and harder to believe people can't SEE this. harrumph rant over, ok thanks for the links

I'm sorry AC.
As I recall the primary ingredient of chemtrails is barrium which absorbs solar x-rays. And there was an article about how the northern hemisphere had a huge hole. Perhaps this is the why.
Norway Time Hole “Leak” Plunges Northern Hemisphere Into Chaos
World Friday, January 8th, 2010
Russian scientists are reporting to Prime Minister Putin today that the high-energy beam fired into the upper heavens from the United States High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) radar facility in Ramfjordmoen, Norway this past month has resulted in a “catastrophic puncturing” of our Plant’s thermosphere thus allowing into the troposphere an “unimpeded thermal inversion” of the exosphere, which is the outermost layer of Earth’s atmosphere.
To the West’s firing of this ‘quantum’ high-energy beam we had previously reported on in our December 10, 2009 report titled “Attack On Gods ‘Heaven’ Lights Up Norwegian Sky”.
To how catastrophic for our Planet this massive thermal inversion has been Anthony Nunan, an assistant general manager for risk management at Mitsubishi Corporation in Tokyo, is reporting today that the entire Northern Hemisphere is in winter chaos, with the greatest danger from this unprecedented Global event being the destruction of billions of dollars worth of crops in a World already nearing the end of its ability to feed its self.
So powerful has this thermal inversion become that reports from the United States are stating that their critical crops of strawberries, oranges, and other fruits and vegetables grown in their Southern States, are being destroyed by record cold temperatures. The US is further reporting record amounts of snowfall in what they are now warning may be their worst winter in 25 years.

Re: EARTH CHANGES 2011 DAILY UPDATES
just listening to Joseph Farrell's latest GREAT interview on redice, a must listen , especially the second half, covers free energy, the nazi connections/ the bell devise, haiti earthquake, CERN, the Norway spiral etc etc , torsion physics, explains a lot ... no wonder the weather is so NUTS as well as everything else.
My brain is a bit frozen but think this will augment your post above Carol,
oh yah its a good interview all right. He pretty much knocks my socks off as a researcher .

http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/news/story/42618/major-snowstorm-could-hit-the.asp
Bastardi is predicting that the pattern will result in over 50 percent of the country having a white Christmas which is well above the average coverage of less than 25 percent of the country which is usually covered by snow Christmas Day.
While the details of what areas will get smacked by a major snowstorm this weekend are still being sorted out, one thing is certain, the storm has the potential bring a travel nightmare to many areas.
AccuWeather.com meteorologists are predicting a storm will move from the northern Plains into the Ohio Valley, then redevelop off the mid-Atlantic coast. On that path, the storm will produce a swath of plowable snow from the Dakotas through the Midwest and Great Lakes and into the Northeast.
The storm has the potential to explode into a major snowstorm that could produce in excess of 6 inches of snow over a large area of the Northeast states and eastern Canada.
AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Joe Bastardi says that it is the type of storm that could close roads in some areas.
Based on the latest information Tuesday morning, the areas from Missouri to western New York could be hit by the greatest impacts from the snow. The danger we see is a storm that produces almost blizzard conditions over a large area of the Ohio Valley and eastern Great Lakes.
For Chicago, Detroit and Milwaukee, it appears that snow will fall and that travel problems in those cities could be significant this weekend.
The storm this weekend is part of a wintry weather pattern that has developed across the eastern part of the country. The storm is also potentially one of several storms that could bring a white Christmas to many areas across the Midwest and Northeast.
According to Chief Long Range Forecaster Joe Bastardi, a major snowstorm could hit around mid-December. This may be the type of storm that brings 6-12 inches of snow and 30- to 40-mph winds to parts of the mid-Atlantic and New England.

Mysterious killer hits area wheat
Yellowing affects 40,000 acres of Eastern Oregon; new problem feared
December 3, 2010
The Oregon Department of Agriculture and Oregon State University are investigating the yellowing of upward of 40,000 acres of wheat in Umatilla and Morrow counties.
So far, the cause is a mystery, and researchers do not know if the problems in the two counties are related.
In early November, Umatilla County growers noticed wheat fields turning yellow and dying, OSU Extension soil scientist Don Wysocki said.
Sixteen fields from three to 10 miles northwest of Pendleton were affected, Wysocki said. They are “more or less but not completely contiguous,” he said. Not every field in the area was affected.
The area was predominately planted to soft white Clearfield variety ORCF-102, but other varieties were also affected, Wysocki said.
“There’s probably more than one thing going on in these particular fields, like in any field,” he said.
OSU Morrow County Extension associate professor Larry Lutcher said 30,000 to 40,000 acres of wheat in his county have plants with yellow or purple tips. The discoloration spreads inward and downward on the leaf. In some cases, plants are completely desiccated and will not recover.
The symptoms have been observed in many fields in the county, Lutcher said, but do not appear tied to any particular location.
“Most of the symptoms in Morrow County are unlike anything I have ever seen,” Lutcher said.
Lutcher said he doesn’t believe the problem will spread to other fields, but he can’t be certain.
“This does appear to be a new problem — a problem that no one seems to have experience with,” he said.
Neither Lutcher nor Wysocki were sure if the circumstances in the two counties were connected.
“The big question on everyone’s mind right now is, how will the crop look this spring and will replanting be necessary?” Lutcher said.

Panama Canal shut by heavy rains
The Panama Canal is fed by rain that falls in the surrounding hills
Traffic through the Panama Canal - which connects the Pacific and Atlantic oceans -
has been temporarily suspended because of heavy rain.
The canal authority said the rains had pushed water levels in lakes that form part of the canal to historic highs, potentially endangering shipping.
It is the first time the canal has had to close since the US invasion of Panama in 1989.
Officials said they hoped normal traffic could resume "within hours".
The last ship to pass through before the canal was closed left at midday, and some vessels were left idle in the waterway.
The canal authority said it was opening flood gates to reduce the water level in one of the lakes.
Around 14,000 ships pass through the Panama Canal each year, representing about 5% of world trade.
Passage through sections of the waterway have been suspended in recent years because of accidents, but not operations along its entire length.
Much of Central America as well as Colombia and Venezuela in South America have been experiencing its heaviest May-December rainy season in decades.
Linking the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans across the narrow isthmus connecting Central and South America, the Panama Canal is a vital artery of world trade and the cornerstone of Panama's economy.
Built by the US in 1904-1914 after a failed French attempt, it was passed to Panamanian control in 1999.
The waterway is currently undergoing a multi-billion dollar expansion project that will increase its capacity and allow navigation by ships that are currently too big to use it.
Unlike the Suez Canal, the Panama Canal is not at sea level.
Instead, ships are raised and lowered by massive locks at either end, and pass through a freshwater channel fed by rivers that run off the surrounding forest-covered hills.
