"Several reports said of an object that resembled a meteor that has spotted in the sky near the Philadelphia Navy Yard facility. And more reports bear out the likelihood that a meteor may have passed over the East Coast on Monday. The incident happened before 12:45 p.m. ET, according to witnesses who called Fox 29. There are also reports on Twitter and Facebook about the incident. The American Meteor Society contacted Fox 29 and said they had about 20 reports from spotters during that time period . Most meteor sightings are at nightime so the spate of reports during the day indicate the event is unusual. Fox 29 TV reporter Chris O'Connell also saw the object, which he described as "majestic" and "beautiful," at about 12:35 p.m. as he was driving on I-95 near the airport. A Fox 29 viewer spotted the object at 12:36 p.m. in Delaware. There also have been several reports of similar occurrences today in Connecticut and New York. Meteorites are naturally occurring objects that originate in space and survive a fall through Earth's atmosphere. Most are remnants of asteroids or possibly comets. The Navy Yard facility is on the Delaware River, which is also used as a flight path to Philadelphia International Airport. The American Meteor Society track meteorite spottings but has not yet posted anything today in its Web site. "

Is this not very close to the meteor sighting just a few weeks ago
There also seems to be in the region of 25 plane incidents in north america at the moment
am sure this happened last time also but cant find data to check ??

Mount Rainier is a massive stratovolcano located 54 miles (87 km) southeast of Seattle, United States. It is the most prominent mountain in the contiguous United States and the Cascade Volcanic Arc, with a summit elevation of 14,411 feet (4,392 m).[1][2] Mt. Rainier is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, and it is on the Decade Volcano list.[7] Because of its large amount of glacial ice, Mt. Rainier could potentially produce massive lahars that would threaten the whole Puyallup River valley.

also was wondering about the large number of plane incidents round the same time
These dont seem to stay up on the site for long so its hard to check back

In looking at the world alert map for today 2/15/11, there are a number of small quakes in volcanic areas around the globe and the full moon is on the 18th. This is just half way through the day.

Some of those news are quickly removed I noticed.
You are right . We have to catch them when they

That would be wild , falling into a sinkhole. Everytime you moved it brought that much more rock and debris down. Very lucky to have gotten out!

February 15, 2011 – HAWAII – The lava lake at Kilauea’s Halemaumau crater has been rising gradually in the last few months. Volcanologists don’t know what the significance of the rise is. It’s possible that the lava could spill out of the pit and on to the crater floor, though this might take months to happen. The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reported the observatory’s seismologists are also watching an increased number of earthquakes in the upper east rift zone. Hawaiian Volcanoes Observatory scientist-in-charge Jim Kauahikaua says the increase in seismicity somewhat resembled the prelude to a brief June 2007 eruption in a remote section of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. But there have also been several similar seismic episodes when nothing happened. Kilauea is the world’s longest continually erupting volcano. The east rift zone began erupting in 1983.

Solar Magnetic Storm

INFORMATION REQUESTED:
As the result of a Solar Flare and Coronal Mass Ejection(CME) two plasma clouds are heading toward the Earth. These
plasma clouds have the potential to cause some level of geomagnetic storming during the next 12 to 60 hours. The
National Coordinating Center(NCC) is requesting information on any issues/unmet needs to impacts to the induced
currents of electrical networks, communications infrastructure, or service due to the reported solar flare during the next 12-72 hours.

INCIDENT:
Earth-orbiting satellites have detected the strongest solar flare in more than four years. At 0156 UT on Feb. 15th, giant sunspot 1158 unleashed an X2-class eruption. X-flares are the strongest type of x-ray flares, and this is the first such eruption of new Solar Cycle 24. The explosion that produced the flare also sent a solar tsunami rippling through the sun's atmosphere and, more importantly, hurled a coronal mass ejection toward Earth. This raises the possibility of geomagnetic storms in the days ahead.

The NCC Watch will continue to monitor the situation for impact to communications infrastructure and service. The NCC
Watch will follow up on Friday, 18 February 2011 by 2000 EST, with an NCC Watch Advisory summarizing all reported
feedbacks.
