THE INFILTRATION OF NEW AGE MOVEMENT II - Page 3 Empty Re: THE INFILTRATION OF NEW AGE MOVEMENT II

Post  starninja Wed Oct 27, 2010 3:49 am

Before I finish to transfer all materials, I want to posts some information that will help to connect the dots. Some links have been already removed from the Internet. They don't want us to know about Solfeggio Frequencies and its consequences to our mental and emotional well being.

We know this guy from Project Camelot. When I saw an interview with Gordon Novel, I picked up a very heavy and dense energy. Well, our intuition never lies.

    Gordon Novel

CIA employee as of at least 1963.
Was alleged to have been seen with Jack Ruby at Ruby's Carousel Club.
According to researcher Paris Flammonde, he was friends with Dave Ferrie (Ferrie, as well as being up to where his eyebrows would have been in the Kennedy assassination, was a practitioner of hypnosis and black magic) and knew Lee Harvey Oswald.
He was an employee of the Double-Chek Corporation and the Evergreen Advertising Agency (both CIA fronts).
(Benson, Michael, "Who's Who in the JFK Assassination", Carol Publishing Group, 1993, pg 317-
"In his youth, Gordon Novel belonged to a neo-Nazi group and was arrested and charged with bombing a Metarie, Louisiana, theater that admitted blacks. Later, he sold spy devices in New Orleans. Gordon Novel claimed he worked with the Cuban Revolutionary Front during the Bay of Pigs, as a Director of the CIA proprietary, the Evergreen Advertising Agency, and had created cryptographic messages for the CIA."

In 1967, the CIA reported that they never utilized either Novel or the Evergreen Advertising Agency. (Weberman, AJ; Nodule 24 - Page 19) ,

During New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison's investigation of the Kennedy assassination, Novel was recommended to him by one of Garrison's political supporters, automobile dealer Willard Robertson. Novel was then an anti-eavesdropping expert, and Garrison was reportedly worried about FBI surveillance. Novel told Garrison about Dave Ferrie's arms pickup in Louisiana to arm anti-Castro Cuban exiles. (Epstein, Edward Jay, The Assassination Chronicles, Caroll & Graf, 1992, pg 197-

More details of this burglary can be found at weberman.com: Nodule 24 - Page 20

When information regarding Garrison's investigation was leaked to NBC reporters, Garrison suspected Novel, and Novel was subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury. Novel instead fled to Ohio, where he was arrested on burglary charges Garrison had filed accusing Novel of participating with Ferrie in the arms pickup.

"After some initial reluctance, Ohio Governor James Rhodes finally agreed to extradite Novel to Louisiana if Garison would complete the papers within sixty days," which Garrison reportedly never bothered to do.

Later, Garrison would claim that people in high places, up to and including President Lyndon Johnson, were preventing him from obtaining his witnesses. (Epstein, 1992, pg 248) During this time, Novel became an informant for the FBI regarding the Garrison investigation. (Weberman, AJ; Nodule 24 - Page 20)

After fleeing New Orleans in March, 1967, a note was found in his apartment:

""Dear Mr. Weiss: This letter is to inform you that District [sic] Jim Garrison has subpoenaed myself and an associate to testify before this Grand Jury on matters which may be classified Top Secret. Actions of individuals connected with Double Chek Corporation in Miami in first quarter of 1961. Our connection and activity of that period involves individuals presently about to be indicted as conspirators in Mr. Garrison's investigation. We have temporarily avoided one subpoena...we want out of this thing before Thursday, March 1967...

I have been questioned extensively by local FBI recently as to whether or not I was involved with Double Chek's parent holding corporation at the time. My reply on five queries was negative... Our attorneys and others are in possession of complete sealed files containing all information concerning matter. In the event of our sudden departure, either accidental or otherwise, they are instructed to simultaneously release same for public scrutiny..." (Weberman, AJ; Nodule 24 - Page 22)

"In 1970 Gordon Novel was arrested on a charge of illegal interstate transportation of an eavesdropping device, and was subsequently convicted."

"In May 1967 Gordon Novel staged an assassination attempt on himself which was reported to Raymond Rocca."

"In 1968, after a fight with his in-laws, Gordon Novel exhibited CIA credentials to the arresting officers."

"In 1974 Jack Anderson reported that Charles Colson asked Gordon Novel to help him build a giant degaussing gun to erase tapes that incriminated NIXON, stored at a CIA site."

"The FBI stated that Gordon Novel was involved with Morningstar Associates, 'an organization with supposed connections to the CIA and Department of Defense."

"In the Summer of 1976 Gordon Novel and his partner, John Langford, were charged with possession of an incendiary device and aggravated arson. The men were involved an alleged plot to firebomb some property in the New Orleans Central Business District on Mardi Gras day, 1976, after attempts to purchase the property for $70 million had failed. Gordon Novel hired an undercover Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent who later admitted CIA ties to do the job. Jim Garrison represented Gordon Novel."

"At his trial Gordon Novel testified the Agency was after him because of international arms dealing. The trial, covered extensively by Spotlight, ended in a hung jury. On October 30, 1976, the judge declared a mistrial." (Weberman, AJ; Nodule 24 - Page 23)

"In 1976, Novel lived with arms dealer Mitch Werbell."

"On January 17, 1977, when Gordon Novel was arrested for arson, Mitch Werbell bailed him out." (Weberman, AJ; Nodule 21 - Page 79)

"Gordon Novel had been hired by Aubrey Young to install electronic debugging equipment in the office of Governor John J. McKeithen." Young was McKeithen's aide, and was reportedly tied to mobster Carlos Marcello (see source info for details) (Weberman, AJ; Nodule 27 - Page 91)

Reportedly, Novel claims to have been hired by Nixon aide Chuck Colson to degauss the Watergate tapes.

Later, he worked with John Z. DeLorean, whose coke dealing, money laundering, and intelligence connections are too complicated to go into here.

Recently, Novel has been involved in the UFO research community.

After physicist Bob Lazar went public with his claims of having back engineered flying saucers at Area 51, Novel showed up at Las Vegas, eager to meet with Lazar. Novel was interested in the mechanics of alleged anti-gravity devices. He had written a JFK researcher a letter from prison in 1978 describing his work in the field. Evidently, Lazar met with Novel once, before being warned off by researcher Lars Hansson.

("An Interview with Lars Hansson", Steamshovel Press, #8, Summer 1993. Reprinted in Thomas, Kenn, Popular Alienation, Iluminet Press, 1995, pg 156-9) (for more information on Bob Lazar's intelligence connections, see my article, Nuclear Dreamland and Hansson, Lars, "UFO's, Aliens and 'Ex'-intelligence Agents: Who's Fooling Whom The Inside Story of John Lear, Bill Cooper and 'The Greatest Cover-Up in Human History'", 7/18/91)

He has also been accused of threatening UFOlogist Bill Moore and writer Jim DiEugenio. Novel's friend John Alexander had once allegedly used Novel's reputation to threaten researcher Martin Cannon.

Novel is reportedly involved with Robert Bigelow and his National Institute of Discovery Science. (What's New at Area 51 and Ufomind: 9/96 Part I) (What's New at Area 51 and Ufomind : 9/96 Part II)

Novel worked as an investigator for former Attorney General Ramsey Clark in a civil trial following the Branch Davidian siege. (Moore, Carol, Excerpt from The Davidian Massacre)

Novel has since become a conspiracy theorist in his own right. His claims reportedly include the idea that President Bill Clinton cracked down on the Branch Davidians to show the Bosnians how serious he was, and that former CIA director William Colby was murdered because he intended to come forward with this information.

He also claims that fake terrorist attacks will be used to usher in a UN controlled New World Order.

He has also investigated the TWA 800 crash. (Puzzle Pieces)

Post  starninja Wed Oct 27, 2010 3:50 am

We know this guy. He is a husband of Rima Laibow.

    Gen. Albert Stubblebine

Former head of the U.S. Army Intelligence & Security Command (INSCOM) 1981-84 .

Masters degree in chemical engineering from Columbia.

Signed classified contracts with the Monroe Institute. (Emerson, Steven, Secret Warriors, G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1988, pg 103-4).

Stubblebine often met with Noriega while he was a US intelligence asset. (Emerson, 1988, pg 110-1)

Former boss of Col. John Alexander, and the two have held numerous "spoon-bending" parties.

Friends with Lyn Buchanan [according to a representative from PSI TECH, the two are not friends].

    Married to ufologist Rima Laibow.
(Porter, Tom, Government Research into ESP & Mind Control, March, 1996)

Soon after becoming head of INSCOM, Stubblebbine began a program called the "High Performance Task Force", a series of methods to improve his officer's performance. These ranged from the neuro-linquistic programming of Tony Robbins to the hemisynch tapes of the Monroe Institute, where Stubblebine often sent his officers. (Schnabel, Jim, Remote Viewers: The Secret History of America's Psychic Spies, Dell, 1997, pg 276)

The "spoon-bending parties" were initiated by a west coast defense industry consultant, Jack Houck. (Schnabel, 1997, pg 278)

Following an incident involving an officer having a psychotic episode at the Monroe Institute, Stubblebine resigned in 1984. He was replaced by Major General Harry Soyster. (Schnabel, 1997, pg 316)

"Formerly Vice President for 'Intelligence Systems' of BDM of McClean, Virginia." As of 1992, Chairman of PSI-TECH.

"Laibow, Stubblebine and ufologist Victoria Lacas (with [C.B. Scott] Jones in the shadows) toured Europe and the Soviet Union, where they have established a prodigious UFO/Psi network."
(Durant, Robert J., "Will the Real Scott Jones Please Stand Up?")

Stubblebine gave a lecture at the International Symposium on UFO Research, sponsored by the International Association for New Science, in Denver, Colorado (May 22-25, 1992). This gives a good example of Stubblebine's coherence (or lack there of) and paranoia (he often threatened to destroy the tape). Stubblebine claimed that none of the members of the remote viewing program had prior psychic abilities or interests (all other sources state that they did).

    Robert Monroe

Founder and director of the Monroe Institute.
    Robert Monroe died in 1995.
Former Vice President and Board Member of the Mutual Broadcasting System, and founder of Monroe Industries, which owned and operated several radio stations.
In 1956, he began investigating sleep-learning.
His research in out-of-body experiences began in 1958.
He founded the Monroe Institute in 1974.
    (Biography of Robert Allan Monroe)
Quoted from Susan Blackmore's Beyond the Body

The earliest account I have found of Monroe's experiences is in Andrijah Puharich's book Beyond Telepathy (Dartman, Longman & Todd, 1962). According to this account, Monroe (under the name Bob Rame) triggered his out-of-body experiences by huffing cans of cement containing ether (pg 67-78). Later accounts exclude this detail, but the rest of the story is essentially the same (see Blackmore, Susan, Beyond the Body, Granada Publishing, 1982, pg 40-44, excerpt)

Note: I have heard that James Monroe is the father of Robert Monroe, but I have been unable to confirm it. The two seemed to be too close in age, and Monroe's father is described as a University professor. But here is some info anyway:

James Monroe studied North Korean brainwashing victims for the Air Force. Later, he became Executive Director of the Human Ecology Society, which was a primary funding conduit for the CIAs MK-ULTRA mind control program, and received 90% of its funds from the agency. James Monroe personally supervised the work of Dr. Ewen Cameron, whose psychic driving and coma "therapy" techniques were among the worst of MK-ULTRA's legacy.

He is the same guy that Stardust started this tread. The circle is getting smaller. Uri Geller was associated with Puharich. Geller endorsed David Wilcock.

    Andrija Puharich

    Born 1918.
Received medical degree from Northwestern University in 1947.
Reportedly a friend of Aldous Huxley.
1952 - had first contact with "the Nine", the highest minds in the universe, through a medium. (Gardner, Martin, Science: Good, Bad, and Bogus, Prometheus Books, 1981, pg 275)

Served in the Army in the early 1950's.

1952 - presented the paper "An Evaluation of the Possible Uses of Extrasensory Perception in Psychological Warfare" at a secret Pentagon meeting.

1953 - Lectured the Air Force on telepathy, and the staff of the Army Chemical Center on the "Biological Foundations of Extrasensory Perception". (McRae, Ronald, Mind Wars, St. Martin's Press, 1984, pg 79)

From 1948-58, was the director of research of the Round Table Foundation of Glen Cove, Maine.

Was Ira Einhorn's mentor in the paranormal. Ira claimed that Puharich "was doing LSD work for the CIA in 1954".

Set a medical lab to study psychic phenomena. Helped form the Intelectron Corporation, which sold his hearing aids. One of Puharich's hearing aids is called the "tooth radio", which is literally implanted inside of a person's tooth and is used by magicians in telepathy acts.

1968 - "I was doing research in connection with the Atomic Energy Commission." Met Einhorn. (Levy, Steven, The Unicorn's Secret, Prentice Hall Press, 1989, pg 128-30)

"Discovered" Uri Geller and brought him to America. Puharich, in his book Uri claims that Geller received his power from an alien force called the Hoovians. This lost him some credibility, and Geller began to distance himself from Puharich. (Levy 131-2)

According to Gardner's account, in Uri, Puharich hypnotizes Geller, and Geller reveals more of the Nine's plans. They have authority over the Hoovians, which are the Controllers of various planetary civilizations. A city-sized spaceship called Spectra hovers over the Earth and sends messages from the Hoovians light-years away to their super-computers to Geller, who is their emissary on earth. (Gardener, pg 276)

Mid-70s: ran a complex in Ossining called the Turkey Farm. In the summer of 1975, Puharich assembled around twenty children from the ages of nine to late teens, called "Gellerlings", or "Space Kids". Puharich trained their psychic abilities, and claimed that they received messages from aliens. One teen claimed that they practiced remote viewing, and some of their assignments included political targets like the Kremlin and the White House. (Levy, pg 165-7)

Puharich has claimed that the Space Kids are able to materialize objects like trees, and that six of them arrived at his ranch via teleportation. (Gardener, pg 287)

It was also during this time that Puharich did experiments on the effects of ELF radiation on the central nervous system.

Part of Einhorn's "psychic mafia". Presented a paper on the Space kids at the "Mind Over Matter" conference at Penn State University, late January, 1977, organized by Einhorn. Other attendees included Christopher Bird and Thomas Bearden. (Levy, pg 189)

Around 1978, Puharich's Turkey Farm burnt down as a result of arson, and Puharich disappeared. A suspect in the arson was a Space Kid who claimed that aliens were harassing him. Puharich implicated the CIA. (Levy, pg 218-20)

Claims to have been the target of four assassination attempts by the CIA. As of 1989, he lived in North Carolina. (Levy, pg 348)

Andrijah Puharich died in 1995. See Terry Milner's series "Ratting out Puharich" for a more complete account, and for details on Puharich's possible links to biological experiments. See too "Memories Of A Maverick"

More explanation about Esalen Institute that Stardust was taking in the tread.

    Esalen Institute

Conference center and hot springs resort in Big Sur, California. Since the early sixties, the Esalen Institute has held many seminars on various esoteric topics, and has been a nexus of many various individuals. Topics explored at the Institute include psychology, gesalt therapy, body work, psychic phenomena, mysticism, religion, psychedelics, human potentiality, and quantum physics.

The Institute was founded in 1964 by Mike Murphy and Dick Price out of Murphy's family resort. Murphy and Price had been running seminars at the resort beginning in 1962, with speakers gathered through an expanding network of contacts, beginning with Alan Watts, Aldous Huxley, George Bateson, Gerald Heard, and others.

(see Anderson, Walter Truett, The Upstart Spring, Addison-Wesley Publishing, 1983 for an expansive history of Esalen)

Joe K. Adams and Dell Carson led an early conference on psychic phenomena. (Anderson, pg 59). In their first seminar on Human Potentiality, led by Willis Harman, every program leader was involved with LSD research: Adams, Harman, Gregory Bateson, Gerald Heard, Paul Kurtz, and Myron Stolaroff. (Anderson, pg 72)

Other drug-culture luminaries, such as Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert, taught at Esalen, and various psychedlics were used by the staff and students, although drug-use was not officially endorsed. Strangely, the Institute was never raided by the authorities. (Anderson, pg 108)

Charles Manson and members of his family played an impromptu concert at Esalen three days before their massacre at the Sharon Tate house. (Anderson, 239)

In the late 1970's, Esalen became involved with an Englishwoman named Jenny O'Connor, who claimed to be in psychic contact with the Nine (probably the same Nine that Andriah Puharich claimed to be in contact with). Dick Price and other members of the Esalen staff became increasingly dependent on the Nine, to the point of listing them as program leaders and members of the Esalen Gesalt Staff in brochures. (Anderson, pg 302-4)

In the 1970's, Mike Murphy became interested in Russian parapsychology, and visited the country to meet experimenters in this field. This led to a close connection between Esalen and some Russian officials, who set up an exchange program. Lasting into the 1980's, this exchange was dubbed "hot-tub diplomacy". John Mack was reportedly involved in this exchange.

Esalen also held seminars in quantum physics, and was the birthplace of the Physics/Consciousness Research Group. Some results of these seminars are documented in Zukav, Gary, The Dancing Wu Li Masters, Morrow Quill, 1979.

In May 1982, Elisabeth and Russell Targ held a workshop on psychic phenomena for twenty-five professionals. This was part of a program with Stanislav Grof, who was studying non-chemical alternatives for altered states of consciousness. The Targs goal was to show that psychic experiences did not require an altered state.
(Targ, Russell and Harary, Keith, Mind Race, Villard Books, 1984, pg 99)

Other individuals who have come to lead seminars at Esalen at one time or another include Carlos Castaneda, Dutch psychic Peter Hurkos, Ira Einhorn, Rollo May, Jack Sarfatti, John Lilly, Terrance McKenna, Ian Wickramasekera, and Charles Tart. Werner Erhard was also close with Michael Murphy and Esalen.

    The Monroe Institute

P.O. Box 505, Lovingston, VA 22949. Click here to see their home page. Founded and directed by Robert Monroe from 1974 until his death in1995.

Had classified contracts with the U.S. Army Intelligence & Security Command (INSCOM) on orders by Gen. Albert Stubblebine. The Institute studied their hemi-synch techniques to see if they could enhance soldiers' performance and concentration. (Emerson, Steven, Secret Warriors, G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1988, pg 103-4)

The primary area of research at the Monroe Institute involves using a binaural beat to cause different psychological effects. A binaural beat is created by using stereo headphones with each speaker emitting a slightly different frequency. The result is a tone at the frequency between the two, which allegedly causes the brain to "entrain" on the frequency, i.e. the brain waves regulate themselves to the same frequency.

The National Research council evaluated the Institute's claims that the method could be used to improve learning.
(National Research Council, Enhancing Human Performance, National Academy of Sciences, 1988, pg 111-4)

"..located near Charlottesville, Virginia. Bob Monroe, author of many books on Out of Body experiences, has long and close ties with the C.I.A. James Monroe, Bob's father, if I'm not mistaken, was involved with the Human Ecology Society, a C.I.A. front organization of the late 50's and 60's. The Monroe Institute has done research on accelerated learning and foreign language learning through the use of altered states of consciousness for the C.I.A. and other government organizations. Government interest in the more radical research going on at the institute remains only tantalizing speculation. Official classified document storage boxes have been seen at their mail-order outlet located in Lovingston, VA."
(Porter, Tom, Government Research into ESP & Mind Control, March, 1996)

The Monroe Institute trained the government viewers from Ft. Meade in out of body experiences. Courtney Brown also went through this training, which involves using the Institute's Hemisync tapes. These tapes, which work by using a binural beat to entrain brain waves, caused Brown to feel that he left his body and communicated with aliens.
(Brown, Courtney, Cosmic Voyage, Dutton, 1996)

Joseph McMoneagle trained at the Monroe Institute (although he fails to mention any connection to the military). According to him, the Hemisynch tapes were used during the "cool down" period before the remote viewing sessions, to relax the viewer.
(McMoneagle, Joe, Mind Trek, Hampton Roads, 1993)

Interestingly, Michael Persinger uses the Hemisync tapes in his work which debunks paranormal experiences, especially UFO abductions.

The Monroe Institute's involvement with the Army began in 1977, when Skip Atwater, at the suggestion of his mother, visited the institute. He spread the word to others in the remote viewing program, and soon others attended, including John Alexander, Joe McMoneagle, and Albert Stubblebine. Soon, Stubblebine began sending his officers there, under a program called "Rabid Advancement Personal Training".
(Schnabel, Jim, Remote Viewers: The Secret History of America's Psychic Spies, Dell, 1997, pg 294-7)

In 1984, an unnamed INSCOM lieutenant with a history of mental illness suffered a psychotic episode while under the influence of the Hemisynch tapes at the institute. The officer was institutionalized at Walter Reed, and the event was the final straw that pushed Albert Stubblebine's resignation.

    SRI - Stanford Research Institute

    Menlo Park, CA.
Click here for their home page. I couldn't find anything there on remote viewing.

Founded in 1946 at Stanford University, it went independent in 1970 due to protest of its military contracts. Among them were studies with LSD and chemical warfare. Willis Harman and Alfred Hubbard were contracted to study the influence of LSD on the counter-culture and business.

Remote Viewing Program: Led by Hal Puthoff and Russell Targ. Originally funded by Science Unlimited Research Foundation, San Antonio, TX in April 1972.

The program began with Ingo Swann, after being told of the project by Cleve Backster.

Swann contacted Puthoff on 3/30/72, telling him of previous studies of his abilities. Swann came to the lab that June. His first experiment was to remote view and manipulate a shielded magnetometer. Near the end of this visit, he performed a series of experiments identifying objects inside boxes. Puthoff invited several potential sponsors of his project (including the CIA) to observe, and the CIA was impressed enough to fund an eight month pilot study. Swann returned to New York to clean up some previous commitments.

During this break, Russell Targ joined the research team. At the end of October, Andrija Puharich brought Uri Geller to SRI to be studied for six weeks. After several demonstrations under uncontrolled conditions, Geller did experiments in twisting metal, predicting die rolls, and copying pictures drawn by assistants. Geller was critically evaluated at SRI by Ray Hyman, among others.

Ingo Swann later in 1972 (Swann says he returned in October, Puthoff places Swann's return after Geller's six week study) to start the eight month pilot program funded by the CIA. Reportedly on Swann's suggestion, he began doing remote-viewing experiments using longitude and latitude as a target. A series of 100 experiments were done during the breaks between Swann's normal experiments.

These experiments were formalized into Project SCANATE. These coordinates were supposedly picked by a NSA (National Security Agency) monitor and transmitted to a CIA agent at SRI. On 5/29/73, during this series, Swann identified a military base (reportedly a satellite listening post). Puthoff read these coordinates to Pat Price, whose amazing results led him to join the SRI team. Click here for an extended review of this experiment.

Price and Swann continued their remote viewing experiments, this time using a person as a target. At an assigned time, the viewer would target the person and describe the scene where he/she was located. These experiments were the only ones which have been openly available to other scientists, and have been extensively reviewed (see references below).

In the summer of 1973, Swann finished the eight month pilot program and left SRI. He continued to work occasionally with the project until at least 1988.

By the end of 1973, the SRI team began to use average people in the remote-viewing project, not just "naturals" (i.e. people with natural psychic ability). These experiments included intelligence agents, and reportedly members of Congress. This series of experiments went on until around the fall of 1974, and the lab was allegedly running out of funding.

Author Richard Bach visited the lab for a series of experiments starting in April, 1975. Other experiments included experimenting with an "ESP teaching machne" for NASA. This device simply a random number generator which shows one of four pictures, and the subject tries to guess which picture is chosen each turn. Anoher experiment involved trying to see if individuals could pick signals from a subjects EEG. One subject is in a shielded room, with a strobe light activated at random times, and the other subject tries to detemine when the strobe is on.

(Targ, Russell and Puthoff, Harold E, Mind-Reach, Delacorte Press, 1977; Puthoff, Harold, "CIA-Initiated Remote Viewing Program at Stanford Research Institute", Journal of Scientific Exploration, Vol. 10, No. 1, Spring 1996)

In 1977, the Naval Electronics Systems Command contracted SRI (for $87,000) for "an investigation of the ability of certain individuals to perceive remote faint electromagnetic stimuli at a noncognitive level of awareness."
(McRae, Ronald, Mind Wars, St. Martin's Press, 1984, pg 5)

The activities of the lab are somewhat more sketchy after this point, but published accounts (such as Targ, Russell and Harary, Keith, Mind Race, Villard Books, 1984; Swann, Ingo, Everybody's Guide to Natural ESP, Jeremy P. Tarcher, Inc., 1991) suggest more of the same, with little expansion and almost no work to isolate the actual mechanisms at work.

Hal Puthoff remains fairly tight-lipped about the classified aspects of the program, but says that the activities focused on studying the possible threat of psi in enemy hands than on actual operations. However, Swann and Price did view many military targets as part of their experiments, so the line between research and operations becomes a bit fuzzy. (see Wilhelm, John, "Psychic Spying?", Washington Post 8/7/77, B1)

I am somewhat skeptical of the claim that the CIA entered the picture sometime after Puthoff began his experiments with Ingo Swann. Here we have a CIA connected parapsychologist (Backster) introducing a subject with a Top Secret clearance (Swann) to a former Naval Intelligence officer who has worked with the NSA (Puthoff) who is working at a military contracted research lab (SRI). I find it highly doubtful that the intelligence community was not involved until experiments were well under way. It's more likely that the CIA was involved from the beginning, and that they might have even initiated the program.

The early experiments were allegedly conducted by researchers involved with Scientology and believers in psi, which some feel may have tainted the data. There are several critical references below.

SRI has a history of mind-control research. "Under contract to the Army, SRI chemists studied psychoactive components like LSD for their potential as chemical-warfare agents". (McRae, pg 94) Puthoff has argued that his research at SRI had nothing to do with mind control (see Puthoff/Constantine Debate). However, it is interesting to note that Puthoff and Targ researched mind-machine interfaces in context with the remote viewing project. (R. Targ, P. Cole and H. E. Puthoff, "Techniques to Enhance Man/Machine Communication," Stanford Research Institute Final Report on NASA Project NAS7-100 (August 1974). Note: I have not seen this paper, but it was referenced by Puthoff). However, this may be techno-speak for telekinesis, much like "novel biological information transfer" is for telepathy.

Around 1976, Dr. Sam Koslov, scientific assistant to the secretary of the Navy, received a briefing on various research projects, including those at SRI. Among the headings on the screen describing SRI's work included "ELF AND MIND CONTROL". ELF stands for extremely low frequency, and electromagnetic radiation in this band has an effect on the central nervous system and has been studied by the military under projects Pandora, Sanguine, and others. Koslov was reportedly upset and shut off Navy funding (although the Navy has been, and continues to be, one of the biggest supporters of electronic mind-control). (Wilhelm, 1977)

Some of the early experiments involved Elizabeth Rauscher as a consultant. In 1985, Hal Puthoff left the lab and was replaced as director by Edwin May, who had joined the lab in 1976. Russell Targ had left in 1982. For reasons unknown to me, the research aspect of the program were transferred from SRI to SAIC in 1991.

Experiments at SRI are documented in:

Targ, Russell and Harary, Keith, Mind Race, Villard Books, 1984

Targ, Russell and Puthoff, Harold E, Mind-Reach, Delacorte Press, 1977

Targ, Russell and Puthoff, Harold E, "Information Transmission Under Conditions of Sensory Shielding", Nature, 10/18/74, v252, n5476, pp 602-607 (reprinted in Panati, Charles, ed., The Geller Papers, Houghton Mifflin Co., 1976)

Critical reviews of the early experiments are contained in:

Marks, David and Kammann, Richard, The Psychology of the Psychic, Prometheus Books, 1980

Gardner, Martin, Science: Good, Bad, and Bogus, Prometheus Books, 1981

Randi, James, Flim-Flam, Prometheus Books, 1982

Wilhelm, John, The Search for Superman, Pocket Books (Note: this text is reportedly hard to find, but is reviewed in Gardner's book above)

Partial list of researchers involved in the SRI study include:

    Michael Persinger, informal consultant

    Hal Puthoff

    Elizabeth Rauscher

    Russell Targ

    Charles Tart

    Partial list of subjects:

    Richard Bach, author and patron

    Phyllis Cole, SRI lab technician

    Duane Elgin, SRI futurologist

    Hella Hammid, photographer

    Keith Harary

    Susan Harris

    Gary Langford, SRI computer expert

    Joe McMoneagle

    Marshall Pease, SRI mathematician

    Scientology

According to John Wilhelm, many of the principles in the SRI remote viewing experiments were Scientologists:

Hal Puthoff is claimed to have been at OT (Operating Thetan) Level III at the time of the experiments. He wrote the preface to Scientology: a Religion (can anyone provide a copy), and was married in a Scientology church. "Puthoff says his involvement with the church more than a decade ago was casual"
(McRae, Ronald, Mind Wars, St. Martin's Press, 1984, pg 108)

Ingo Swann was/is at OT Level VII. He presented a paper entitled "Scientological Techniques: A Modern Paradigm for the Exploration of Consciousness and Psychic Integration" (in Proceedings of the First International Congress on Psychotronic Research (Virginia: U.S. Joint Publications Research Service, 9/6/74, Document No. JPRS L/5022-1) at the First International Congress on Psychotronic Research in Prague, Czechoslovakia.

Pat Price was at OT Level IV.

Eli Primose, an assistant in the Uri Geller tests.

George W. Church, Jr., owner of Science Unlimited Research Foundation, which funded some of the early studies.

Ingo Swann allegedly told Wilhelm that there were a total of fourteen "clears" working at SRI.
(Wilhelm, John, The Search for Superman, as reviewed in chapter 30 of Gardner, Martin, Science: Good, Bad, and Bogus, Prometheus Books, 1981, pg 320-1; Wilhelm, John, "Psychic Spying?", Washington Post 8/7/77, B1)

    The relevance?

Not too much, as I can see. There is some historical relevance, as the Scientology factor supposedly scared off four potential sponsors of the research at SRI. (McRae, pg 108) Also, skeptics point towards Scientology's belief in psychic powers as a possible bias in the research.

I have my doubts that the Church of Scientology was ever used as a CIA front, as some have suggested. Scientologists have a form of therapy called "auditing", which involves relating details of one's life while being hooked to an "E-meter", which is a primitive lie-detector. This would violate some of the CIA's security protocals. Furthermore, the Church has revealed details about both MK-ULTRA and the government's psychic spying programs through the FOIA, which would be very inappropriate for a CIA proprietary. Also, there are direct connections between SRI and the intelligence community, so an indirect connection via Scientology isn't necessary for the purposes here. However, I could be very wrong.

THE INFILTRATION OF NEW AGE MOVEMENT II - Page 3 Empty Re: THE INFILTRATION OF NEW AGE MOVEMENT II

Post  starninja Wed Oct 27, 2010 4:15 am

I can finally summarize my 2 years research about New Age. Actually, it is not 2 years because I have started my quest for truth and spirituality decade ago. I was fascinated with occultism and Eastern beliefs for a long time. Well, I couldn’t connect the dots.I can agree with David Icke as he said that the biggest problem is the fact that people can’t connect the dots, seeing everything as separate. I decided to explore Ashayana teaching to make up my mind about ascension. I don’t believe David Wilcock at all. He was endorsed by Uri Geller. Well, Uri Geller was connected to Andrija Puharich and “the Nine”.

I have just started reading the Freedom Teachings but I have already noticed an impact of this teachings. It was not a positive one as I went through an intense questioning period regarding ascension and the reality presented by the teachings. I don’t know where those teaching come from but I can see a similarity with Wilcock’s teachings. So, I wanted to explore where the concept of ascension came from. Well, we go back to Blavatsky.

    http://www.answers.com/topic/ascended-master
Ascended Masters are enlightened beings whom many in the esoteric field believe have evolved beyond the need to reincarnate on earth and now act from a higher plane of existence to assist humans in their movement towardenlightenment and guide the race in its destined evolution. The concept of ascended masters was popularly introduced by Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, cofounder of the Theosophical Society, and described in some detail in her most important book, The Secret Doctrine. Blavatsky taught that both individuals and the human race were engaged in an upward evolutionary process. At the same time, she pictured a hierarchy of Masters headed by a being known as the Solar Logos. Those masters at the lowest level of the hierarchy regularly interacted with humanity. The Masters El Morya and Koot Hoomi have had a special role in the formation and guidance of the society. One of the early members of the society, A. P. Sinnett, also received regular communications from the masters that became the basis of two important theosophical texts, Esoteric Buddhism and the Mahatma Letters to A. P. Sinnett.
Together, the masters constituted the Great White Brotherhood. A number of the spiritual leaders from past history were pictured as members of the hierarchy. For example, the person known as Jesus, revered as the fountainheadof Christianity, is believed to hold the office of Maitreya in the hierarchy. The work of the masters was championed by Blavatsky's successor Annie Besant and her colleague Charles W. Leadbeater, whose works further elaborated upon the nature and work of the masters.
Blavatsky also introduced the idea of ascension as a goal for humans, a concept made central of "I AM" Religious Activity, an organization founded by Guy W. Ballard, who further developed theosophical concepts. Ballard taught that it was possible through following the disciplines of the movement, including vegetarianism, to so purify the self that the individual need not die but could ascend to the next level of conscious existence. Ballard's own untimelydeath necessitated some revision of that ideal, and the natural process of death was integrated into the understanding of the process of ascension. Ballard is now believed to have assumed a position as an ascended master, as has Mark Prophet, the founder of the Summit Lighthouse (now the Church Universal and Triumphant), a group similar to the "I AM."

Ballard regularly and publicly served as a messenger for a variety of Ascended Masters, especially Comte de St. Germain. At the same time, Alice A. Bailey claimed contact with a Master she generally called "The Tibetan," named Djwhal Khul. Both became models for a variety of people through the last half of the twentieth century who have claimed contact with and who have channeled messages from the masters. By the 1970s, over one hundred groups with roots in the Theosophical Society that either acknowledged the messages from the masters received by Blavatsky and/or were receiving new messages regularly from the masters were functioning in the English-speaking world. One group of channelers, beginning with George King, founder of the Aetherius Society, have claimed contact with extraterrestrial entities, who nevertheless have the same names as the members of the spiritual hierarchy originally described by Blavatsky. Flying saucer contactees, such as Dorothy Martin of the Association of Sananda and Sanat Kumara, described them as members of an outer space hierarchy.
During the 1970s, the practice of channeling messages from the Masters spread to a much larger audience as a result of the New Age Movement, a revitalization movement that spread through the Western theosophical groups and adopted channeling as one of its key activities. While New Age channelers received material from a variety of sources, many claimed to be in touch with the same ascended masters as Blavatsky, Bailey, and Ballard. Most notable among these is Benjamin Crème, who claimed not only to receive messages from the Master Maitreya, but that this particular entity had returned to human society and was walking among us. The emphasis upon ascended masters accompanied an emphasis upon individual ascension as the goal of the spiritual life. Ascension had been placed upon the agenda of the metaphysical community by Guy Ballard and the "I AM" Movement, but had not become a significant teaching until the New Age Movement began to wane in the 1990s.
The ascended masters have been likened to angelic beings in Christian folklore. Given the impersonal and transcendently remote deity of Western esoteric worldviews, the masters serve as a source of revelation and authority. They are seen as authoritative teachers of spiritual wisdom. They are highly revered for the knowledge they present, though as a rule they do not receive worship, a practice that does not have a prominent place in most esoteric groups. The masters have also been compared to the bodhisattvas of Mahayana Buddhist thought. They are compassionate beings dedicated to humanity and its uplift. Contemporary writers on ascended masters have nominated many of the spiritual exemplars of all religious traditions as having become ascended masters while also greatly expanding the number of ascended masters believed to be currently inter-acting with humanity.

Post  starninja Wed Oct 27, 2010 4:25 am

Do I believe in ascension? Absolutely not! It is a New Age deception. The "ascension" will happen in our mind as our reality will be totally changed. As a result, we will experience symptoms of mind control such as depersonalization, sense of isolation, depression, sleeping problems, other disturbing physical symptoms and many more. I posted here research about the negative symptoms of TM as well as Course in Miracle. The scary part is that they are changing our view of reality and explain the symptoms of mind control as the symptoms of spiritual awakening! I started to experience some of those symptoms 1,5 years ago as I read Avalon1 and did my research into the realm of conspiracy and channeling. Those symptoms are gone! So, it wasn’t a spiritual awaking but mind control.

We have to ask ourselves why we accept the belief of ascension and a new view of reality. It requires strengths to do soul searching and we make not like what we will find. It goes back to personal responsibility. It would be so nice to believe that we will ascend to 4th or 5th dimention where people are very evolved and there will not be pain ,suffering, and sickness but only love and light. Well, I am afraid that it is childish thinking and there is not free lunch in the Universe. We have to take responsibility for our personal growth and become a change we want to see. Finally, we need to go back to our body and feel all feelings. Our feelings are our strengths as they connect us with our souls. No wonder, those who want to control us working so hard to disconnect us from our feelings. I can see emotional emptiness, well, I would say, zombie like state of those who are deeply involved in New Age spirituality. They talk about love but they don’t feel it. They can’t understand the language of the body as the connection between the physical sensations that are accompanying emotions is broken.

Well, I can shut down my computer for a long while, integrate what I have learned, and enjoy my life! I am grateful that my Guardian Angel didn’t fall asleep but worked hard 24/7 guiding me through this journey, particularly into the realm of mind control.

THE INFILTRATION OF NEW AGE MOVEMENT II - Page 3 Empty Re: THE INFILTRATION OF NEW AGE MOVEMENT II

Post  starninja Wed Oct 27, 2010 4:27 am

Well, I am done with New Age. To recover from this deception takes time as we have been compromised on so many levels. I am switching my focus on empowerment. Everybody of us has an inner longing to love, to be loved, to give, to deeply care about others. Sadly, many people experience deep emptiness and a hungry heart! According to research, only 10% people experience a deep emotional connections with a partner after 15 years of marriage. After 25 years of marriage, only 1%!

    So, what went wrong?
I have searched for the answer for a period of time. I see a big correlation with New Age programming.

Well, my favorite part is the transcendence of the ego promoted by Eastern teachings and a new generation of “spiritual” teachers of the New Age like E. Tolle.
It is the most dangerous concept for our well being. I don’t even like to use a term the ego but the sense of self. There is a vast research that has shown that people who have a strong sense of self (ego!) are the most loving, caring, tolerant, and giving. It is a pure delight to be around those people! They are inner directed. Furthermore, they are secure within themselves, and as such, their functioning in not affected by either criticism or praise from others. They are able to engage in intense emotional relationship without trying to modify the life course of another. They are relatively free from ego defenses. On the contrary, people who have a weak ego or poorly defined sense of self are very vulnerable to being molded or changed by others. They react to beliefs, attitudes, and values of others, trying to change them. They experience a high level of anxiety; therefore, they have less energy available to pursue goal-oriented activity. They have difficulty to distinguish the feeling process from the intellectual process, and as such, they are governed by their emotions. They are conscious of their emotions, but emotions are experienced as a heighten level of disturbing energy that they can’t understand, therefore, put into words. As a result, they oscillate between uncontrolled emotional outbursts and depression.

So, New Age beliefs are handy to escape the emotional intensity. However, they don’t tell us the damaging consequences to our psyche and to the sense of self, as the self is being fragmented. The more the self is fragmented, the more difficult is the process of recovery to fully functioning. Palehorse beautifully expressed the consequences of accepting and following the New Age teachings.

    Expert from Palehorse
    http://beyond-within.com/blog/person...al-boundaries/

When I came across the idea of universal oneness, I had no problem accepting it, because I had very little concept of “me” as an individual to begin with! From all descriptions of “enlightenment” that I’ve come across — you might say I was enlightened before I started “seeking” anything. Be that as it may, it wasn’t a state I was happy to remain in, and I eventually found out why.
I have stripped away aspects of myself, shut down other aspects, experimented with changing everything about myself that it’s possible to change, and spent years without a functioning ego. At the end of it I found myself with a lot of fragmented and damaged aspects who did not cease to exist; they were just waiting around somewhere in the astral (literally) for me to pull my head out of my arse, stop trying pretend there is no “I” and start reintegrating them. Hypothetically, I could have probably continued along that path until there was nothing left of this conscious self, leaving me an empty shell that would eventually die and be no more. But from what I’ve seen, those parts I stripped away would simply go off on their own evolutionary track, and the higher self that this incarnation is part of would continue to exist, probably saying to himself “damn, lost another one to that whole “enlightenment” fad.”

When I got my ego back up and running, I found a pre-existing core “essence” that flourishes and successfully coexists with others when I’m true to myself, and protests loudly when I engage in self-betrayal. It has preferences, desires, goals, ambitions — and finds the process of figuring out how to achieve them as fun as the end result is gratifying, before transitioning on to a new adventure. I’m free to experience what I want without feeling like I’m “suffering” if I don’t get it, because I view life as a game, and one that I don’t take particularly seriously at that; it’s all just experience.

My preferred approach to my ego is to get rid of my socialization and conditioning — a collection of usually conflicting and mostly dysfunctional constructs imposed from without that I did not choose — and turn what’s left into my own creation. I am in the process of releasing everything I may have believed myself to be, and replacing it with whatever I choose to be. Far from losing my sense of self, if anything I am gaining one that is self directed, co-created, fluid, evolving and ever-expanding. In a word: free.

So, we may ask what is happening with our body and emotions when we are trying to get rid of our ego and shut down our mind? The result is emotional numbness. People in this state are not aware of anything they call emotions or feelings. This is true even if they are under the influence of strong emotions. On occasion, however, they may have outburst of anger, particularly, under the influence of alcohol and other drugs. They experience physical sensations that accompany emotions but not emotions themselves. They often consume drugs that target physical sensations with an emotional origin. While in this state of emotional unawareness, people are able to inflict great emotional damage on others. Strong emotions that are unacknowledged can cause irrational behavior and pain. People on this level of emotional unawareness can’t develop deep and loving relationships with others. Well, we can’t have a deep and loving relationship with others if we don’t understand them on emotional level. It is called empathy where we don’t need to think about, see, or hear people’s emotions but we sense it. In fact, the empathy is a form of intuition about emotions.

There is another dangerous aspect of New Age belief system associated with the transcendence of the ego. People who follow those teachings don’t have personal boundaries. In fact, they don’t know what personal boundaries mean. As a result, they cross others boundaries, causing pain and emotional hurt. Emotional numbness and the lack of understanding of others boundaries inflict a great pain and damage relationships. I talked earlier about New Age idea that “We are all one”, so I will not repeat myself.

What is the solution? Emotional awareness. It is as simple as that. However, it is not an easy road to achieve the emotional awareness as we were trained to suppress our feelings since our childhood and suppression was intensified by Eastern teachings. I am afraid, that people who are deeply involved in New Age spirituality may not achieve it as the fragmentation of self is very deep. I hope that I am wrong!

My final thoughts. We are here to passionately love, passionately create, and experience this reality through the whole spectrum of feelings and emotions. I was so close to loose what I cherish the most! We are emotional beings and I would not want to loose my feelings and emotions in the name of spiritual enlightenment. In fact, Eastern teachings and New Age teachings offer a spiritual death of the soul.
And we need to open our eyes and to see pain and suffering of others. We can’t be blind any more!

This is my last post on this tread. I will continue to search and learn. Scott Peck said, “When we are searching, we are learning, when we are learning, we are growing”. I would add that we need to question everything and take our power back! And love. I believe in power of love. But love is a verb!

Mind Control Theories and Techniques used by Mass Media
    By Vigilant | April 28th, 2010 | Category: Vigilant Reports | 599 comments

Mass media is the most powerful tool used by the ruling class to manipulate the masses. It shapes and molds opinions and attitudes and defines what is normal and acceptable. This article looks at the workings of mass media through the theories of its major thinkers, its power structure and the techniques it uses, in order to understand its true role in society.
Most of the articles on this site discuss occult symbolism found in objects of popular culture. From these articles arise many legitimate questions relating to the purpose of those symbols and the motivations of those who place them there, but it is impossible for me to provide satisfactory answers to these questions without mentioning many other concepts and facts. I’ve therefore decided to write this article to supply the theoretical and methodological background of the analyzes presented on this site as well as introducing the main scholars of the field of mass communications. Some people read my articles and think I’m saying “Lady Gaga wants to control our minds”. That is not the case. She is simply a small part of the huge system that is the mass media.
    Programming Through Mass Media

Mass media are media forms designed to reach the largest audience possible. They include television, movies, radio, newspapers, magazines, books, records, video games and the internet. Many studies have been conducted in the past century to measure the effects of mass media on the population in order to discover the best techniques to influence it. From those studies emerged the science of Communications, which is used in marketing, public relations and politics. Mass communication is a necessary tool the insure the functionality of a large democracy; it is also a necessary tool for a dictatorship. It all depends on its usage.

In the 1958 preface for A Brave New World, Aldous Huxley paints a rather grim portrait of society. He believes it is controlled by an “impersonal force”, a ruling elite, which manipulates the population using various methods.

“Impersonal forces over which we have almost no control seem to be pushing us all in the direction of the Brave New Worldian nightmare; and this impersonal pushing is being consciously accelerated by representatives of commercial and political organizations who have developed a number of new techniques for manipulating, in the interest of some minority, the thoughts and feelings of the masses.”
    - Aldous Huxley, Preface to A Brave New World

His bleak outlook is not a simple hypothesis or a paranoid delusion. It is a documented fact, present in the world’s most important studies on mass media. Here are some of them:

    Elite Thinkers
    Walter Lippmann

Walter Lippmann, an American intellectual, writer and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner brought forth one of the first works concerning the usage of mass media in America. In Public Opinion (1922), Lippmann compared the masses to a “great beast” and a “bewildered herd” that needed to be guided by a governing class. He described the ruling elite as “a specialized class whose interests reach beyond the locality.” This class is composed of experts, specialists and bureaucrats. According to Lippmann, the experts, who often are referred to as “elites,” are to be a machinery of knowledge that circumvents the primary defect of democracy, the impossible ideal of the “omnicompetent citizen.” The trampling and roaring “bewildered herd” has its function: to be “the interested spectators of action,” i.e. not participants. Participation is the duty of “the responsible man”, which is not the regular citizen.

Mass media and propaganda are therefore tools that must be used by the elite to rule the public without physical coercion. One important concept presented by Lippmann is the “manufacture of consent”, which is, in short, the manipulation of public opinion to accept the elite’s agenda. It is Lippmann’s opinion that the general public is not qualified to reason and to decide on important issues. It is therefore important for the elite to decide ”for its own good” and then sell those decisions to the masses.

“That the manufacture of consent is capable of great refinements no one, I think, denies. The process by which public opinions arise is certainly no less intricate than it has appeared in these pages, and the opportunities for manipulation open to anyone who understands the process are plain enough. . . . as a result of psychological research, coupled with the modern means of communication, the practice of democracy has turned a corner. A revolution is taking place, infinitely more significant than any shifting of economic power. . . . Under the impact of propaganda, not necessarily in the sinister meaning of the word alone, the old constants of our thinking have become variables. It is no longer possible, for example, to believe in the original dogma of democracy; that the knowledge needed for the management of human affairs comes up spontaneously from the human heart. Where we act on that theory we expose ourselves to self-deception, and to forms of persuasion that we cannot verify. It has been demonstrated that we cannot rely upon intuition, conscience, or the accidents of casual opinion if we are to deal with the world beyond our reach.”

It might be interesting to note that Lippmann is one of the founding fathers of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the most influential foreign policy think tank in the world. This fact should give you a small hint of the mind state of the elite concerning the usage of media.

“Political and economic power in the United States is concentrated in the hands of a “ruling elite” that controls most of U.S.-based multinational corporations, major communication media, the most influential foundations, major private universities and most public utilities. Founded in 1921, the Council of Foreign Relations is the key link between the large corporations and the federal government. It has been called a “school for statesmen” and “comes close to being an organ of what C. Wright Mills has called the Power Elite – a group of men, similar in interest and outlook shaping events from invulnerable positions behind the scenes. The creation of the United Nations was a Council project, as well as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.”

Some current members of the CFR include David Rockefeller, Dick Cheney, Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton, mega-church pastor Rick Warren and the CEOs of major corporations such as CBS, Nike, Coca-Cola and Visa.

    Carl Jung

Carl Jung is the founder of analytical psychology (also known an Jungian psychology), which emphasizes understanding the psyche by exploring dreams, art, mythology, religion, symbols and philosophy. The Swiss therapist is at the origin of many psychological concepts used today such as the Archetype, the Complex, the Persona, the Introvert/Extrovert and Synchronicity. He was highly influenced by the occult background of his family. Carl Gustav, his grandfather, was an avid Freemason (he was Grand Master) and Jung himself discovered that some of his ancestors were Rosicrucians. This might explain his great interest in Eastern and Western philosophy, alchemy, astrology and symbolism. One of his most important (and misunderstood) concept was the Collective Unconscious.

“My thesis, then, is as follows: In addition to our immediate consciousness, which is of a thoroughly personal nature and which we believe to be the only empirical psyche (even if we tack on the personal unconscious as an appendix), there exists a second psychic system of a collective, universal, and impersonal nature which is identical in all individuals. This collective unconscious does not develop individually but is inherited. It consists of pre-existent forms, the archetypes, which can only become conscious secondarily and which give definite form to certain psychic contents.”
    - Carl Jung, The Concept of the Collective Unconscious

The collective unconscious transpires through the existence of similar symbols and mythological figures in different civilizations. Archetypal symbols seem to be embedded in our collective subconscious, and, when exposed to them, we demonstrate natural attraction and fascination. Occult symbols can therefore exert a great impact on people, even if many individuals were never personally introduced to the symbol’s esoteric meaning. Mass media thinkers, such as Edward D. Bernays, found in this concept a great way to manipulate the public’s personal and collective unconscious.
Edward Bernays is considered to be the “father of public relations” and used concepts discovered by his uncle Sigmund Freud to manipulate the public using the subconscious. He shared Walter Lippmann’s view of the general population by considering it irrational and subject to the “herd instinct”. In his opinion, the masses need to be manipulated by an invisible government to insure the survival of democracy.

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.

We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society.

Our invisible governors are, in many cases, unaware of the identity of their fellow members in the inner cabinet.”
    - Edward Bernays, Propaganda

Bernay’s trailblazing marketing campaigns profoundly changed the functioning of American society. He basically created “consumerism” by creating a culture wherein Americans bought for pleasure instead of buying for survival. For this reason, he was considered by Life Magazine to be in the Top 100 most influential Americans of the 20th century.
    Harold Lasswell
In 1939-1940, the University of Chicago was the host of a series of secret seminars on communications. These think tanks were funded by the Rockefeller foundation and involved the most prominent researchers in the fields of communications and sociological studies. One of these scholars was Harold Lasswell, a leading American political scientist and communications theorist, specializing in the analysis of propaganda. He was also of the opinion that a democracy, a government ruled by the people, could not sustain itself without a specialized elite shaping and molding public opinion through propaganda.

In his Encyclopaedia of the Social Sciences, Lasswell explained that when elites lack the requisite force to compel obedience, social managers must turn to “a whole new technique of control, largely through propaganda.” He added the conventional justification: we must recognize the “ignorance and stupidity [of] … the masses and not succumb to democratic dogmatisms about men being the best judges of their own interests.”

Lasswell extensively studied the field of content analysis in order to understand the effectiveness of different types of propaganda. In his essay Contents of Communication, Lasswell explained that, in order to understand the meaning of a message (i.e. a movie, a speech, a book, etc.), one should take into account the frequency with which certain symbols appear in the message, the direction in which the symbols try to persuade the audience’s opinion, and the intensity of the symbols used.

Lasswell was famous for his media analysis model based on:

Who (says) What (to) Whom (in) What Channel (with) What Effect

By this model, Lasswell indicates that in order to properly analyze a media product, one must look at who produced the product (the people who ordered its creation), who was it aimed at (the target audience) and what were the desired effects of this product (to inform, to convince, to sell, etc.) on the audience.

Using a Rihanna video as an example, the analysis would be as follows: WHO PRODUCED: Vivendi Universal; WHAT: pop artist Rihanna; TO WHOM: consumers between the ages of 9 and 25; WHAT CHANNEL: music video; and WHAT EFFECT: selling the artist, her song, her image and her message.

The analyzes of videos and movies on The Vigilant Citizen place a great importance on the “who is behind” the messages communicated to the public. The term “Illuminati” is often used to describe this small elite group covertly ruling the masses. Although the term sounds quite caricatured and conspiratorial, it aptly describes the elite’s affinities with secret societies and occult knowledge. However, I personally detest using the term “conspiracy theory” to describe what is happening in the mass media. If all the facts concerning the elitist nature of the industry are readily available to the public, can it still be considered a “conspiracy theory”?

There used to be a variety of viewpoints, ideas and opinions in popular culture. The consolidation of media corporations has, however, produced a standardization of the cultural industry. Ever wondered why all recent music sounds the same and all recent movies look the same? The following is part of the answer:
As depicted in the graph above, the number of corporations owning the majority of U.S. media outlets went from 50 to 5 in less than 20 years. Here are the top corporations evolving around the world and the assets they own.

“A list of the properties controlled by AOL Time Warner takes ten typed pages listing 292 separate companies and subsidiaries. Of these, twenty-two are joint ventures with other major corporations involved in varying degrees with media operations. These partners include 3Com, eBay, Hewlett-Packard, Citigroup, Ticketmaster, American Express, Homestore, Sony, Viva, Bertelsmann, Polygram, and Amazon.com. Some of the more familiar fully owned properties of Time Warner include Book-of-the-Month Club; Little, Brown publishers; HBO, with its seven channels; CNN; seven specialized and foreign-language channels; Road Runner; Warner Brothers Studios; Weight Watchers; Popular Science; and fifty-two different record labels.”
    - Ben Bagdikan, The New Media Monopoly

    AOL Time Warner owns:

    * 64 magazines, including Time, Life, People, MAD Magazine and DC Comics
    * Warner Bros, New Line and Fine Line Features in cinema
    * More than 40 music labels including Warner Bros, Atlantic and Elektra
    * Many television networks such as WB Networks, HBO, Cinemax, TNT, Cartoon Network and CNN
    * Madonna, Sean Paul, The White Stripes

    Viacom owns:

    * CBS, MTV, MTV2, UPN, VH1, Showtime, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, TNN, CMT and BET
    * Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies, MTV Films
    * Blockbuster Videos
    * 1800 screens in theaters through Famous Players

“Disney ownership of a hockey team called The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim does not begin to describe the vastness of the kingdom. Hollywood is still its symbolic heart, with eight movie production studios and distributors: Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Miramax, Buena Vista Home Video, Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Buena Vista International, Hollywood Pictures, and Caravan Pictures.

The Walt Disney Company controls eight book house imprints under Walt Disney Company Book Publishing and ABC Publishing Group; seventeen magazines; the ABC Television Network, with ten owned and operated stations of its own including in the five top markets; thirty radio stations, including all the major markets; eleven cable channels, including Disney, ESPN (jointly), A&E, and the History Channel; thirteen international broadcast channels stretching from Australia to Brazil; seven production and sports units around the world; and seventeen Internet sites, including the ABC group, ESPN.sportszone, NFL.com, NBAZ.com, and NASCAR.com. Its five music groups include the Buena Vista, Lyric Street, and Walt Disney labels, and live theater productions growing out of the movies The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and King David.”
    - Ibid

    The Walt Disney Company owns:

    * ABC, Disney Channel, ESPN, A&E, History Channel
    * Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, Miramax Film Corp., Dimension and Buena Vista International
    * Miley Cyrus/ Hannah Montana, Selena Gomez, Jonas Brothers

    Vivendi Universal owns:

    * 27% of US music sales, labels include: Interscope, Geffen, A&M, Island, Def Jam, MCA, Mercury, Motown and Universal
    * Universal Studios, Studio Canal, Polygram Films, Canal +
    * Numerous internet and cell phone companies
    * Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Jay-Z

    Sony owns:

    * Columbia Pictures, Screen Gems, Sony Pictures Classics
    * 15% of US Music sales, labels include Columbia, Epic, Sony, Arista, Jive and RCA Records
    * Beyonce, Shakira, Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera

A limited number of actors in the cultural industry means a limited amount of viewpoints and ideas making their way to the general public. It also means that a single message can easily saturate all forms of media to generate consent (i.e. “there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq”).

    Desensitization

In the past, when changes were imposed on populations, they would take to the streets, protest and even riot. The main reason for this clash was due to the fact that the change was clearly announced by the rulers and understood by the population. It was sudden and its effects could clearly be analyzed and evaluated. Today, when the elite needs a part of its agenda to be accepted by the public, it is done through desensitization. The agenda, which might go against the public best interests, is slowly, gradually and repetitively introduced to the world through movies (by involving it within the plot), music videos (who make it cool and sexy) or the news (who present it as a solution to today’s problems). After several years of exposing the masses to a particular agenda, the elite openly presents the concept the world and, due to mental programming, it is greeted with general indifference and is passively accepted. This technique originates from psychotherapy.

“The techniques of psychotherapy, widely practiced and accepted as a means of curing psychological disorders, are also methods of controlling people. They can be used systematically to influence attitudes and behavior. Systematic desensitization is a method used to dissolve anxiety so the the patient (public) is no longer troubled by a specific fear, a fear of violence for example. [...] People adapt to frightening situations if they are exposed to them enough”.
    - Steven Jacobson, Mind Control in the United States

Predictive programming is often found in the science fiction genre. It presents a specific image of the future – the one that is desired by the elite – and ultimately becomes in the minds of men an inevitability. A decade ago, the public was being desensitized to war against the Arab world. Today, the population is gradually being exposed to the existence of mind control, of transhumanism and of an Illuminati elite. Emerging from the shadows, those concepts are now everywhere in popular culture. This is what Alice Bailey describes as the “externalization of the hierarchy”: the hidden rulers slowly revealing themselves.

Well, when I finally connected the dots I could understand why Kerry and Bill spreaded fear, particularly, in 2007. Expose people to intense fear so that they will be desensitized and when the important things may happen they will not react. This techniques is the most powerful in therapy with people who suffer anxiety and panics attacks. I was absolutely shocked that they are using it as a means of controlling us. Well, we are waking up!

I am tired and I need to take a rest. I hope that the research Stardustaquarion and I did will help you to wake up.

I spoke with Terrance McKenna about the imagination. I talked to Timothy Leary about Jesus. I asked Edgar Mitchel about life after death. I spoke with Carol Rosin about nuclear war. I knelt at the feet of Terri Cole Whittaker (not to worship - just to talk). I attended several Whole Life Expos - but I never got involved. I was losing faith in my Christian upbringing - but something didn't feel right at these expos. I didn't know what to do - and I still don't know what to do. At one of these events I spoke with a women who pointed out how easily the human mind can be deluded. I agreed then - and I agree now. We so easily and quickly jump out of the frying pan - and into the fire. Sometimes I think we should remain perpetually detached and non-committal. Perhaps the agnostics have been right all along. I support extensive research and discussion - but I do not endorse getting involved in supernatural activities. I don't even trust prayer anymore. I think about spiritual and philosophical things all the time - but I never try to communicate with unseen entities - except for swearing at them, and flipping them off! Go to hell you pesky interdimensional reptilians!!!

    Greeting Orthy ,

I have been very skeptical about religions for a long time . I chucked out Catholicism at the age of 15 . At that time ,I could see in Italy the hypocrisy of the clergy and the Italian society . I did not take part in the peace movement in the sixty , but there were certain aspect that i did not find appealing . Decades ago
the stories came out of the role of the US alphabet agencies in destroying the peace movement . I had a hunch that some of the leading musicians came from military families ( to me military = Government = secret services ) and that to me was very suspicious . So , like you i do not get involved in supernatural activities , I just don't want to know . Stories on this thread about " ascended masters " confirm my idea that to " ascend " person might have to live the life of a monk . And that's not the meaning of life in my book . Then there is a little problem . How many "ascended masters " walked on the surface Earth ? How many humans have come and gone ? As we can see the ascended masters are very rare and not worth worrying about it if they want to help mankind it's OK for me , surely we need a lot of help . For me it is very important to retain a skeptical attitude about this subject as there are people , organizations and governments who intend to deceive us to control our mind . As we know ,there is a war going on and I am not prepared to follow any guru , ideology or trend . I just want to be myself because I know that nobody in this universe has got the monopoly of the truth .
