That question of abuse is a bit of a tricky one. It's going to be different for different people. There's an analogy that might help. Smokers can sit in a smoky room and smoke away themselves and not be overly bothered unless it gets extreme, but people who don't smoke don't have that tolerance. And people who smoked for a long time and then quit, have even less tolerance. They have to leave the room. For another, I"ve done various cleanses, and diet changes for the better over the years, and each time I cleaned up some, I found certain tolerances for dirt in my system less tolerable. I did one which cleaned my respiratory system, and there after could not tolerate many artificial fragrances, like perfumes and scented candles. They would coat my upper respiratory tract within minutes and the effects would last a good day.
And then for an example closer to the abuse question above, I'd spent a good several months of intensive cleaning of my mind and energetic bodies, of the garbage I had stored from past misadventures. After doing a lot of the cleaning, I found I could no longer even stay at Avalon with the large number of posters still embracing or able to ignore the lower vibratory frequencies of fear and anger and sarcasm (which isn't funny to me in any way whatsoever anymore), etc. I had to leave and stay away for a while and do a bunch more cleaning work before I could tolerate the harmonic imbalances again.
People who have left their personal clearing work woefully lacking, have a much greater tolerance for the dirty emotions generated by their mean spirited joviality at others expense, and can sometimes fail to realize they are actually hurting people. Only when you've cleaned up a good deal does that stuff stick out harshly. And of course when you've substantially completed your clearing work and healed most of your major issues in polarity, you return to another, cleaner form of tolerance, which is allowance based, more than witheld rejection based. Meaning, lower vibration activities don't really bother you that much, although you won't go out of your way to immerse yourself in them, as opposed to a notion like "those fools can be idiots all they want....I just won't watch them." That's not really tolerance or allowance. It's rejection, witheld, which is a lower order harmonic of the cleaner, more balanced tolerance based on compassionate love and a sense of peace.
I would hope that the beginnings of query over the limits of the rules, doesn't mean they are going to be pushed or approached. If it asks something like "how far can I go in approaching abusiveness without jeopardizing my own membership here?", then that's something I would consider unfortunate.
I've seen verbal abuse in this thread. I've seen someone called fool, and others scum. I think everybody can do without that kind of personal targeting.
Of course, people who don't find this thread interesting or amusing, can stay away from it too, as I generally do. I only peeked in now because I noticed Mercurial had posted here and I was curious what he had to say.

Free speech, certainly, but hopefully exercised in such a way that people aren't deliberately hurting one another. I don't have the sense we really have time for that sort of thing. There is lots going on, on lots of levels, and it really does great good to keep ourselves "up".

Actually it's not so much the words we use that count but the energy , the intention we transmit behind them .
That energy is what can lift a rotten situation into a blooming one or allow it to deteriorate.

Very true, and exactly right, Mudra. cruelty often tries to hide behind linguistic sophistry. Ganging up also has the effect a lot of the time, of creating agreement that the target of derision is now somehow less, since it's not just me beating on him anymore. As I look back on my life/lives in this moment, I discover I never truly held that it was funny. A thought popped in my head that I used to think it was funny to make fun of another when I was a child in school and it was fairly common, but as I look now, I realized all the time that it was just mean. Never funny. Laughing in itself doesn't make something High spirited. Laughing "at" can be pretty mean. School children have been known to select it as a weapon of choice, just because of the plausible deniability aspect. "All I said was her dress looked really nice....I don't know why she started crying."

I like very much what you posted, Mudra! Sometimes Fools (Jesters) point out what needs to be healed. That is their reason for being, healing within their court. They are the ones who get away with showing difficult truths when no one else can do so. Their signature is the silly hat with the points. The key is intent. If the intent is belittlement, the Jester or Fool is not doing his or her job correctly. Storytelling is a way to point out what needs to be corrected, without pointing a finger at any one person. Each person "takes" the point in his or her individual way. I am a life long student of theater and storytelling. There is much to be learned by dramatizing the drama of life. May the dream within the dream be of the highest intent within our "Mists."

I don't know what your personal agendas are Trancoso, Gita, Swanny and Jester but I personnally would love to see this community that the Mists are growing and expanding .
I very much doubt that this Gofl threads the way they are turning are likely to attract many new members to our forum .
We have chosen to have it unmoderated out of trust that everyone here would behave in a way that is respectfull of all .
So it's really up to each of us to search within himself his very best in terms of human relations .
Out of respect for those who are working hard to make this place a safe , enjoyable and interesting one to be I invite you to take a moment of reflection and see how you can change the course of events for the better .

Ok first of all there were never any death threats.
As you all know I don't believe in the GFL. The GFL are not real as in being aliens visiting us to spread love and take us away to another world or dimension which ever the message is on a different day. In my opinion there are a lot of people out there claiming to be of the GFL (me included) to either get their version of a message across or to have a laugh or to make money from people daft enough to believe the lies and send them money.
There are people out there that need something to hang on to as their vision of the future isn't a good one without the GFL swooping in from above to save them.
As for my relationship with Jester.
Jester I wish you no ill feelings and don't have a problem with you but as long as you post nonsense about the GFL I will continue to take the piss just as I do with my other friends
So once again

In defense of those creative types: sarcasm (especially the British kind) is very difficult to "read" in text. It's in the tone of voice. Smileys don't help enough. Shall we put a banner on all of the posts saying: "This is a joke thread. Don't take it seriously!" or something to that effect? Mudra is right in that if someone breezed in and didn't get the innuendo, it would seem ugly. (What we are doing is "outing" the true Uglies. The ones who write the GFL propaganda. Kinda like the Emperor has no clothes.) Ah, the art of the written word. How do we solve this?

This to me is something I don't feel is conducive to harmony. that is if you consider harmony desirable, as I do. holding an opinion that something is nonsense, is one thing, but stating it as fact, and then going on to make fun at people on the basis that they support what you consider to be nonsense, can only breed ill will, and hard feelings, which it has obviously done. There are not yet any provable facts, and in any case, the task of the critics is harder because you can never prove a negative. You can never prove there is no such thing as the GFL. You can also not prove that there is no such group operating in contact with humans, and sharing information. Even if a large part of the messages are distorted and coloured by sloppy channeling or ego shading, there is still no way to prove your nonsense claim.
So the more harmonious interaction would be in terms of Live ad let live, or Do unto others....etc. If it doesn't resonate with you, then stay away from it. If you feel it's a real danger to people and they are being misled, then take it up with your reasons. But don't just take piss. filthy habit, that.
