I'm an 'information junkie' and this is the place where I read things I didn't know already.

Also the people here are really nice and special and have proven to stand for their cause.  

The Mists has never sold out their fundamental reason for its existence: a self-moderating forum where freedom of speech is granted to anybody who joins.

Also there are no nitwits here and there's mutual respect for each other.

And famous or not, everybody appreciates people who can tell them something interesting and useful

The Mists are a small island Pris. A special vista in an unperfect world where respect for one another and freedom of speech are amongst our highest values. As Tran says this is a self moderating forum. That's how we chose it to be from it's onset in early 2010. Up to this day this has proven to be an enjoyable and workable model.

You'll find no hierarchy of any sort here. People are free to join, come and go , participate and share their questions or ideas about the world or life in general or just be happy reading what others have got to say.

I think we found the Expression of Power less interesting than the Power of Expression
And this gives us plenty of room to grow in conscious awareness.

All too true mudra. I was banned from almost every forum I belonged to just because I was truthful about what I knew and wasn't afraid to put it out there. This is such a nice place to relax. No fear. Truth is respected and appreciated. As the admin, because of how this forum was set up, I do next to nothing, which is how it should be. Empower the members where all are equal works best. Just so you know Pris, there is zero tolerance for trolls.

Sounds wonderful here, mudra! :)  I hope you don't mind me gleaning some ideas for our forum.  We're brand-spanking new at this sort of thing!

Yeah, trolls.  We finally banned the first three when we found out they all had the same IP address.
Now, we've had multiple new trolls try to get in, all appearing to be the same attacker with proxy IPs.

It's gotten so bad, not only have we had to ask people to register first, we now ask people to fill out a questionnaire before we can consider letting them in.  This has helped stop the troll assault for the moment.

Meantime, we're getting close to determining who the culprit is.

Not to MoA so much, but to those trying to unravel the weird world of agency run forums it is rather interesting, and fun in a disturbing kind of way.

LOL! 'Fun' is certainly subjective, isn't it? But, yes. TOT is much like PA, but worse... Someone suggested to me it's like PAs 'crazy uncle'.

Something I learned a long time ago.. poop is the same if it's on the ground or served on a silver platter. Best to just bury it given the level of immaturity and rudeness - which is where it is, buried.

He specifically mentions me in that post, and I am addressing one specific part (see above).  Obviously, since I am not able to defend myself in TOT, I decided I would share my thoughts here in The Mists of Avalon.

Starting off, I was not 'booted off' Project Avalon.  I was given a 'one week vacation' after which I promptly unsubscribed myself.  I was not booted off TOT 'multiple times'.  I unsubscribed myself twice, returned for the third time, and then I was banned (for the reason I’m here).

Aragorn claims I have a psychiatric condition known as oppositional-defiant disorder -- 'a rebel without a cause' -- whose only purpose in life is to 'stir up trouble and antagonize'.  If standing up against injustice means 'stirring up trouble' and being 'antagonizing', then I imagine I must be guilty of these things – at least in the eyes of those dishing out the injustice.  I do have a compulsive drive to stand up against injustice, yes.

I would like to know what Aragorn’s definition of 'a rebel with a cause' would be.

Nice thread titles Pris. It would be nice if you share those threads here. As for the labeling.. is that person a licensed psychotherapist such as myself? If he were he would know what he did is a no-no in the mental health profession.

It's good that you can set the record strait here for those who are interested to know the facts. As for the label of oppositional-defiant disorder (it would really be oppositional-defiant personality disorder if true), sometimes this is a good thing. Especially when fighting against injustice and standing up for what is right. So best to let the label slide while continuing to stand up for yourself and putting out your unique individual perspective. It's welcome here.

As for Aragorn.. sometimes folks tend to get caught up in ego and their own sense of self-importance, assuming they are contributing something of value when offering their opinion about someone else, when in reality no one else really cares. Ergo, ego. Tsk, tsk.
