I envisioned a shape and a symbol percieved by me, and let that simple idea go beyond time/ space so the person It was directed towards could pick up the same shape and symbol simultaneously

Well as you say above you " expected " telepathy to take place .
In my opinion telepathy takes place when it's in alignment with the natural laws of the universe.

there was slight rotation slight windy rotation of the circle
you used blue as background
No yellow colour whatsoever

so I picked up a circle with blue stuff on it
so it must have been the flower...

I must beg my pardon dear ladies as I have to go to the village to buy some items.
