Thanks to your sound advice  my friends I got myself a Vaude sleeping bag which I find awesome and their matress too. Hope its a good choice.

The sleeping bag can also be worn as a coat

    https://www.alpiniste.fr/vaude-gampluet-800-syn-sac-de-couchage-synthetique/?cnid=1db1b2500a0ba7dbbf92f7a269225

Next I looked around for a Birkey water filter and ordered that too.I took it with 2 extra fluorite batteries.

Next Wise item I would think is the first aid kit as you suggested Vidhya,
Any adress to orient me too ?
I also decided to do the 1st aid course the Red Cross organizes.
I'll do this with my daughter. This should be mandatory in school imho.
Long time planned. Never done. The time is now ,
I am appreciating being retired. It gives me so much extra time I never had before
    To use for something meaningful.

    Love from me

Next Wise item I would think is the first aid kit as you suggested Vidhya,

Vaude make really good kit. I cycle at the moment (van is parked up) and use vaude panniers. My tent is vaude, i have had good walking shoes from them, Your bag is 3 seasons, good to about freezing  - 0 degrees, but you can wear layers to sleep in.
Merino baselayers are prefect, I have 4 merino base layer shirts now. and merino 'long -johns'. Merino balaclava. thin merino doesnt last for a long time, and i need to repair it often, but there is nothing like it for warmth/weight/anti bacterial.

My comments about the first aid kit was a joke (twisted british humour) in reference to a tent. Its good to have a tent, even if you dont use it all the time. When you do need it, you will be glad you had it. Just like a first aid kit.

My first aid kit is in 3 sections. A small bag (pocket sized) has iodine bottle, paracetamol tablets, needle and thread, wound closure strips, scissors, scalpel, dentists tool for teeth, dentist mirror, 2 tampons, plasters, blister plasters, small roll of gauze tape. New sterilized needles, small syringe. super glue (excellent for wound closure) Anti septic cream. small mirror. Tweezers. mounted needle.

Next bag, bigger (waterproof kayak bag) has bandages and various creams. Anti bacterial cream, e45 cream, aloe vera gel, zinc oxide. In england they sell 'sudocrem' for baby nappy rash. It is zinc oxide cream, excellent for wounds, rash, skin problems. I always carry a tub (good sun screen too!). Neem oil. Hydrogen peroxide. 'rubbing' alcohol. small spray bottle of colloidal silver. Eye wash bottles. something for eye/ ear infections. spare scalpel blades. bigger scissors. acetone. whistle. head torch.

And now I have my van I have a small cupboard and have Diatomaceous earth, zinc oxide powder (i can mix with coconut oil to make a cream i need for any use), various water filtration/ sterilization options. Larger bottle of colloidal silver. toothpastes. tooth brushes, activated charcoal. baking soda.

You can buy a first aid kit the size you like to have around and add to it.

im sure there's more, but there's a start.

    Thank You Vidhya Thubs Up

    I discovered Zeolite today.
Would you guys agree this is a good powder to have ?

    https://www.berkey-waterfilters.co.uk/collections/frontpage/products/zeolite-original-pure

Zeolite is a breakthrough supplement that works at the cellular level by trapping heavy metals and toxins and safely removing them from the body. The Original and one of the most effective Zeolite on the market from the leading manufacturer of Zeolite today. This Zeolite powder from Zeo-health is one of the purest Heavy Metal detoxifier on the market today.

    ZEOLITE PURE POWDER

contains Zeolite, is an all-natural mineral that have been shown to detoxify and remove heavy metals and toxins from the body without side effects.

Zeolite is a volcanic mineral which was created when ash and lava from a volcano has a chemical reaction with sea water. The result is a compound with a cage-like structure with a negative charge. The negative charge acts like a magnet to attract positively charged toxins and heavy metals to the Zeolite. These are then trapped in its cage structure and carried out of the body.

From memory, isnt it claimed that zeolite can also remove radioactive particles?

I dont know. Where to start? where to end? do you think you have an issue with heavy metals in your body?

For myself, I dont care anymore. If I have an issue I deal with it. I dont worry about my general health. I am aware of what I put into my body and eat mostly organic food. I drink pomegranate juice for my blood.. and thats about it.

Bentonite clay is similarly used for trapping heavy metals. I dont use that either Wink

Zeolite can be had quite cheaply on Amazon (a fraction of the price that berkey charge!) .. why not try it and see if you feel better.

The only thing I would add is be cautious! Our bodies can not deal with heavy metals, so they dont! We store them in body tissues. And they sit there forever. There is a danger to moving these metals around, if they are re-mobilized in the body can you be sure they are excreted? mobilizing them may be more harmful than leaving them be.

    I dont know.

For me, I am not worried about death Insanely Happy but I am not suicidal.

If you have amalgam fillings in your mouth then you have mercury in your body. I think it's probably a good idea to remove that if possible elephant

Mercury is very bad for your thyroid

From what I know  about dealing with heavy metals removal is that you need to have a chelator that goes and find them from the body combined with something that transports them to the intestines whete they are then expelled. Apparently the combination of Spirulina with Chorella does that.Chlorella  being the chelator  of heavy metals while Spirulinar carries them to the intestines and expels them
If I find a reference on this I'll post it.

In the meantime here is a good site on various plants properties. In french !

    Hey Mudra

My Zeolite arrived today. Cheerful I haven't tried it yet Cup o Bored

    Found some info here
    https://www.zeolite-bentonite.co.uk/en/faq.html#first-time

    Dosage examples?

Depending on requirements, the product can be used for days, weeks or months. Powders and ultrafine powders can be easily dissolved in water from mushy to thin liquid as required. When stirring the fine powdered Bentonite powder into water, the use of a whisk, stirrer or egg beater is very helpful. The dosage is carried out individually by slow introduction and depending on the weight, e.g.:

    Powder:

1 heaped teaspoon, 1 to 3 times daily, as needed

    Ultra-fine powder:

½ a teaspoon, 1 to 3 times daily, as needed

    Capsules:

1 to 2 capsules, 1 to 3 times daily, as needed

    Thanks Swanny☺

The Vaude sleeping bag and matress arrived.
The sleeping bag is so made one can use it as a coat as well. Very clever !
I will try the mattress as soon as the pump I ordered arrives.

I got myself a first aid kit today. There was one that I found very good but they don't ship to Belgium. Will pist a link to it when back on the computer.

Also an emergency blanket and an emergency sleeping bag.

The Berkey arrived yesterday. Took me almost 2 days to have it function properly.
My advice: read and follow the instructions. It will save you time ☺

Which Berkey did you get? The big stainless steel one?

    Any tips for preps ? - Page 2 Big_Berkey_Recent1_medium

I have one of those to filter my tap water

Did you get a Sawyer one as well? Those are perfect if you need to use it on the move. I was traveling in Spain last year and took one with me. I used it to filter bottled water, it's perfect for that as it screws straight onto the bottle. And you can reuse the bottle and fill with tap water

I opted for the Royal Berkey Swanny and use the water for drinking cold and hot, cooking, bathroom,, and for the cat as well. We are two with my daughter but overall this is quite a confortable size for our needs.

I stumbled into a shop the other day where the Sawyer was sold. Will get myself one.

I am going to change the Vaude mattress if I can. Its very comfortable but I find it a bit narrow. I hadn't realized these mattresses come in different sizes. Learning as I go ☺

I found this recipe for toothpaste today. Will make myself some and add it to the preps.

    Reverse cavities, gingivitis, remove tartar..

I got myself an ozone generator.
it didn't cost me much. Less than 50 euros.

    Awesomely usefull already.

I used it yesterday to clean apples and vegetables by soaking them in water. And having the generator dispense ozone in it for 20 minutes.

I also use ozonated water to disinfect working places, sink, table...

I read testimonies of people using this type of machine and having only good things to say.
