Is JP Morgan Shifting Its Silver And Gold Shorts To Non-US Domiciled, And Thus Unregulatable, Banks?

    http://www.businessinsider.com/is-jp-morgan-shifting-its-silver-and-gold-shorts-to-non-us-domiciled-and-thus-unregulatable-banks-2010-12

Going through recent bullion bank shorting information, Adrian Douglas has stumbled across a nugget that may explain the sudden willingness of JPM to admit to the FT, via proxies as obviously the bank would never expose itself to even remote market manipulation claims, that it has collapsed its silver short. The reason: even as US bank silver (and gold) shorts by US banks have been gradually declining, those positions established by non-US bank, and thus entities not under the CFTC’s control, have seen their silver shorts surge, increasing by orders of magnitude over the past several months. Is there a stealthy transfer of precious metals market manipulation taking place, one that exonerates the domestic, and therefore regulatable, suspects, while making foreign banks carry the burden of suppressing silver and gold prices? The reason: hand over the silver shorts to entities that would not be subject to the CFTC’s upcoming size limit rules. Per Douglas: “The sudden and massive increase in their short positions in both metals is conspicuous when compared with historical trading patterns. The fact that it occurs at a time when the US banks that are mega-short appear to be covering makes it doubly intriguing. It looks like a strategy to shift suppression and manipulation of the market to banks that are not under the direct supervision of the CFTC. Will these non-US banks be expecting to receive an exemption to position limits where US banks might not be successful?” We hope to get an answer to all these questions soon – Douglas has sent out the following letter to the only honest man at the CFTC, Bart Chilton, which explains Douglas’ findings, and demands an inquiry into just who these foreign banks are that are suddenly shorting silver and gold on the margin at alarming rates.

On KTFM [9:09:20 AM] a live video feed from the Iraqi parliament - translated into English- The entire platform that Maliki presented was voted on and ratified. . . including Article 40 a call for immediate revaluation of currency. The rate should be posted on the CBI website anytime between now and Sunday.

If investing in silver and gold, watch out for scams.

Gold Buffalo Tribute Coin As Seen on TV Offer.......HOAX

    $500 Silver - Page 4 Coin-1

They are asking $24.90 per coin.

    What a scam this is.

    http://www.offers.com/buffalo-proof/gold-buffalo-coin/offer/

Add a piece of American history to your collection with this stunning $50 Gold Buffalo Tribute coin.

    Purest gold coin ever made
    Certified authentic proof
    No longer in production

These wonderful coins are clad in 14 mgs of pure .99999 gold. Wow

    Here is the math.....

14 mg equals .014 grams. 31.1 grams in one troy ounce.

So this coin has .00045 troy ounces in it. @ $1385/oz

This coin has a value of 62 cents, in terms of gold value. Great investment.

Swiss franc hits record high vs dollar, euro, pound
The Swiss franc strengthened on Thursday to new highs against the US dollar, euro and the British pound, as investors turned to the safe-haven currency amid weakness in other industrialised economies.
The euro slumped below the barrier of 1.24 francs in early morning trade, trading at just 1.2396 francs.

Meanwhile, the dollar also weakened to 0.9374 francs, and the pound was down to 1.4525 francs.

The strengthening Swiss currency has become a bane for exporters here.

With interest rates already at a record low, the central bank has little leeway to temper the franc's rise.

The Swiss government's advisory panel of leading economists in December heralded a slowdown in ever more costly exports over the coming year, helping to pare down Switzerland's economic growth from a 2.7 percent in 2010 to 1.5 percent in 2011.

Some dinar news... and if you want to buy dinars - today is the day, possibly the last day.
The dinar is going to revalue and pull the world economy out of the sink hole it is in.

How do you know the dinar sites aren't a scam? Although, it's certainly an interesting Rothschild style "blood in the streets" (or should I say ieds?) contrarian play I suppose. I guess it's possible, but I'm skeptical nonetheless.

The two firms we selected to purchase from sent us the actual dinars so we have dinar "cash" in hand. We also have friends who checked out the distributor and feel comfortable with our choice as they guarentee a place to cash in the dinar when it RVs. We've lost money in the past with other investments and view this as a risk but it is the cheapest risk we've taken to date - so we aren't too concerned. We didn't invest that much and if it works out then it's okay. We can also turn what we purchased in for what we paid for it, so there is no loss of the original investment - which is a far cry different then past investments that didn't work out.

People are already selling Iraqi Dinar on ebay. Now I would consider buying dinar on ebay a risk. But if people are willing to buy it one can get their money out of it that way as well.
    http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1311&_nkw=iraqi+dinar&_sacat=See-All-Categories

I'm going to add a few quotes and link here with pro and cons concerning the dinar. Some think it a scam and others not. Take some time to read the comments and make up your own mind.

    http://www.moneyshow.com/trading/Currency_Corner.asp?aid=currency-18159

    QUOTE"

If The United States Government holds over five trillion IQD, Hillary Clinton has encouraged investing in The Iraqi Dinar. Donald Trump has purchased 30 Million Dollars worth, and Goldman Sachs holds and sells IQD, wouldn't you think that there might be something to this. It is a legitimate currency from a legitimate nation. Without a doubt, there are dinar scams out there just as in many other investments, and a lot of hype going around about a revalue by the end of 2010. If you read the facts about what is currently going on in Iraq, and consider what their currency is worth, you will be able to make an educated decision about investing in Iraq. Do your homework. Don't get into something that you know nothing about. On that same token don't comment on something that you know nothing about. If you think that it is a scam then simply don't buy it. I believe that the people that have invested in The Iraqi Dinar, for the most part have done their do diligence, and know what they are getting into. Do you honestly think that Trump, or Goldman Sachs are going to fall for a scam as some are describing on this page?

    CFTC Delays Position Limits
    http://www.gold-speculator.com/silverstockreport/44905-cftc-delays-position-limits.html

Today, the CFTC, the Commodity Futures Exchange Commission, was set to have a meeting to consider and set new position limits on Futures Contracts. http://www.risk.net/energy-risk/news/1933247/cftc-mulls-position-limits-rule-delays-vote

    The vote was delayed.

This should not be surprising that they are delaying this as long as possible. It has huge implications to the JP Morgue and others that have a huge short position. If they are forced to liquidate a large percent of their holdings it could propel the precious metal contracts skyward, and send the banks and dollar in the opposite direction.

Thanks for the vid link Micjer. I played it with my husband listening. At least we have food growing here all year so fresh produce is available. The primary thing we buy all the time at the store is milk. The chickens lay eggs but need scratch feed (corn). Meanwhile, another trip to Costco for some canned goods might be good. Here is a tip for others... buy spices at the healthfood store in bulk rather in those little individual jars as they are much cheaper that way.

Silver is good. If I have to go back to the mainland next month I can easily get silver coins from the banks there. The whole thought of TSA makes me ill when it comes to flying and I'm not sure what to do. Crazy Happy

I agree on the travelling part. Friends of ours want us to go on a holiday to Vegas. I have decided to decline, simply because of the TSA bs.

Funny how the price of milk is really the only commodity that is not being affected in price yet.

I don't think it is time to panic on stocking up, just be alert and don't be the last to the store. Better to be stocking up a week prior than a week after a major meltdown. Hawaii should be slower to react than the mainland. Same goes for here in Canada.
