The Small-Scale Approach to Achieving Great Things

“It is better to take many small steps in the right direction than to make a great leap forward only to stumble backward.” - Old Chinese proverb

Think big. Live to the max. Change the world.

All worthwhile aims, I’m sure you’ll agree. These high-flying statements are meant to encourage us to achieve great things with our lives. But, rather than being an inspiration, do such huge goals just leave you feeling overwhelmed instead?

Sadly, many of us never begin developing new habits because we think a positive outcome will take too much effort. Or else, after we do start to improve our lifestyle, we give up far too soon because we don’t get what we want fast enough. It’s easy to be daunted by the size of the challenge ahead.

May 2011 - "The Deepest Acceptance of Life"

In this month's podcast (click here), Jeff Foster and Nic Higham talk about acceptance in the deepest sense of the word.

We try so hard to accept life, to be okay with what happens, to be 'spiritual', or 'present', or 'loving', or 'unconditional' in the face of challenges, and yet the reality is that often we fail to accept, fail to allow, fail to feel okay.

However, there is an acceptance far deeper than anything the individual could 'do' - this is the acceptance of Life itself. In the same way that the ocean unconditionally 'accepts' all of the waves, consciousness already 'accepts' everything that appears in consciousness.

The apparent paradox: nobody accepts, and yet, a deep acceptance has already happened.

The lotus flower originated in Egypt and in India, and has had a major role in the local myths and legends.

Like the rose in the West, the lotus of the East is probably the most important of the flower symbols and laden with meaning. It springs forth from muddy and murky waters, eventually rising to float on the surface, opening in the morning and closing in the evening. For example, according to the Egyptians, it was the first flower of the universe, and from it sprang the first gods. Many of the ancient pillars of monumental architecture in Egypt are actually designed as bunches of lotuses. In Hinduism, the lotus blossom is one of the most important symbols used in spirituality and art. Brahma, the Hindu creator of the world, was born from a lotus blossom that grew from the navel of Vishnu on the water.

The lotus flower in Indian mythology also represents birth and beauty. The goddess, Laxmi, was born from a lotus that sprang from Vishnu's forehead and there are many goddess figures that are described to have lotus features.

The beginning of the life of the Lotus flower is down deep in the MUCK and the MUD of water and it actually grows up and OUT of the muck, mud and water and becomes a BEAUTIFUL creation of life.

The lotus flower, grown in the muddy swamps of India, symbolizes that even from the worst situation one can always pull through and make the best out of it. No matter one's struggles in life, he or she will always confer.

Thank You dear Mudra! Imiges like the one above rises the vibes of an observer (at least I experience that) even without any words, and when One reads the words, the vibes take different flavours :)
Hey, do we have a thread with just beautiful images? Why don't we start one 'Love in Imiges' or something like that, and try to post imiges that were captured by us or even from the web. I remember the old Avalone had something like that.

What Does It Mean to Be a Finder?

When we stop being a seeker and become a finder, we no longer have any doubt about who we really are and why we are here on Earth. In our own direct awakening to Spirit's true face, existential doubt dies a sudden and irrevocable death, liberating an infectious confidence that is rooted deep within our souls. A true finder may or may not continue to engage in spiritual practice, but if he or she does, it is motivated only by the desire to continue to evolve for the sake of the evolutionary process itself. Indeed, in evolutionary spirituality, making the noble effort to catalyze our own individual and collective higher development is recognized to be the very raison d'être of human beings at the leading edge. And we can only begin to do this when we have given up seeking forever. Then and only then will we stop reaching for a spiritual epiphany to convince us of something. We instead make the effort to evolve because we are in love with life and are committed to unlocking its highest potentials through our own development. Those potentials will only come to the fore when we are no longer trying to become enlightened but have let go of any other option than to be the expression of the highest we have seen and experienced, in all our imperfection, right now. That's what it means to be a finder.

An Episode in the Soul’s Journey

    By John Van Mater, Jr.

    The Chalice of Wisdom - Part 1 - Page 17 Gods-Lighted-Path1-300x225

A sapling in the garden was given a lot of nurturing. It grew well and soon was nearly four feet high. Then one day during a gale huge branches from a nearby tree fell on it, snapping the little trunk at its base. It appeared to have died. What a terrible consequence after such care! Yet, next spring the young tree sent up new and vigorous shoots — after all had seemed lost. It grew and again reached, even surpassed, its former height and fullness. What strength and vitality and will must have resided unseen in those roots for it to regenerate itself!

A year later another storm broke off additional branches from the young tree’s unfortunate neighbor, sending them crashing down. Again the situation seemed hopeless, for the sapling’s trunk lay pushed nearly flat, and on one side its branches were cleaved off. Upon examining it, however, I discovered that the trunk was not broken, only bent, and when I had cut away the heavy limbs oppressing it, it began to spring up straight once more. It was as if a new little tree had been reborn from its former self, tougher and more resilient as a result of these adverse experiences. Though seemingly ruthless and cruel, nature had tested its very essence, or soul, and then allowed it to continue to grow into a fine tree.

If this be true of trees, what of ourselves?

Three Steps To Living As Your ‘I Am’

The Chalice of Wisdom - Part 1 - Page 17 ThreeEs

    RE-MEMBER. RE-SURRECT, and RE-STORE
living as your ‘I AM‘ with these three simple E words.

You know as we travel in three-dimensions in the human
experience it’s sometimes easy to get distracted and lose
ourself again in the trama and drama so I decided to create
a mantra of three E words to make it easy for us to
RE-MIND ourself to stay on course during the day.

    .
    THE THREE E MANTRA

    1) EXIST

Continuously stay in the energy of existence, reality,
and our PRESENCE – the NOW.

    2) EMBRACE

Embrace your power to create by holding the vibration
    of your desired experience.

    3) EXPLORE

Learn to come and go from your body and explore the
exciting magnitude of our collective omnipresence.

    .
IF YOU NEED information on the energy of the NOW see
THE POWER OF NOW by Eckhart Tolle.

For information on our power as energetic beings see
teachings of Abraham Hicks and Bashar online.

For information and exercises on how to leave your
body see my blog HERE to begin.

BLESSINGS and JOY to you as we learn once again
to live as our true self.

    Knowingness

Knowingness is a beautiful thing Earthlings. A precious, precious gift. Once you have it, your life is forever changed, transformed.

Being true to everything that you are becomes so easy. Do no get me wrong, there still is a lot of hard work ahead, but it does not matter, for when you know, when you understand what your soul purpose is, what you must do as an Earth Being, a Light Being, it is impossible to stop. No matter what obstacle you encounter. Because of your great focus, instead of being overwhelmed by the mountain you have to climb, all you see if the steps you must take to climb to the top. One by one. As long as you are able to put one foot in front of the other, you are happy, driven. And if you must stop to catch you breath, you do so gladly, without any judgement, for you know rest is important, that doing what you must to stay healthy, to take care of yourself and others is essential if you want to forge ahead.

Fear also becomes irrelevant. What others think or say about you does not matter. All you have room for in your heart is love, compassion, light and respect. Your heart, your soul aims for the greater good. Your sole intent is to rise above to raise the vibration. Everyone's vibration.

Knowingness is so much more than knowledge. It is knowing. It is understanding. It is certainty. It brings you courage and strength. It is like a constant supply of fuel, a life supply of oil for your lantern to guide you when darkness strikes, it is the only map you need for your journey.

Speaking your truth becomes eassier, so is walking the path of integrity. For you know that you must be fully free to fulfill your purpose. Lies of any kind, dishonesty, hiding are just dead weight that you carry around. Dead weight linked to shackles of fear.

When you speak and live your truth Earthlings and walk the path of integrity, there is no reason to fear anything, for you are never "appearing" to be anything or anyone. You just are. You. In all your beauty. In all your glory. In all your power. With all your gifts. Respectful of others and their own journey. Wanting only to lift the entire world up so all can shine their own magnificent light. All equally radiant in the eyes of the Creator.

When knowingness enters your life Earthlings, the world is yours. It is yours to shine your light. May it find its way into your soul.

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, 'Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.'

The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, 'You have seen Hell.'
They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one.

There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.

The holy man said, 'I don't understand.'

'It is simple,' said the Lord. 'It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.'

The Wise Man believes profoundly in silence - the sign of a perfect equilibrium. Silence is the absolute poise or balance of body, mind and spirit. The man who preserves his selfhood ever calm and unshaken by the storms of existence - not a leaf, as it were, astire on the tree, not a ripple upon the surface of the shinning pool - his, in the mind of the unlettered sage, is the ideal attitude and conduct of life. Silence is the cornerstone of character.
