Obama Invokes NDAA, Declares Threat From Iran "A National Emergency"
President Obama invokes the NDAA, which authorizes the use of military force, and issues an executive order declaring the “threat” of Iran a National Emergency.
Obama concluded,, "I have also delegated certain functions and authorities conferred by section 1245 of the NDAA to the Secretary of the Treasury and the Secretary of State in consultation with other appropriate agencies as specified in the order."

The executive order directs all government agencies to respond immediately to the threat.It further invokes the authority of the 2012 NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) which gives the President the power to launch military action against any nation without the approval of Congress.
Ironically, the State of Emergency order accuses the Iranian central bank of deceptive banking practices.
For those who think some random series of events led up to this situation, the following article is a real eye opener. The Brookings Institute laid out the playbook in 2009 on how to provoke a war with Iran and garner international support for an invasion.
Comparing the chain of events since then, it is pretty clear that TPTB have followed the playbook so far. It is quite scary thinking about the the next steps in the playbook – an Iran sponsored 9/11 attack.
Personal note: Whoever is president just wants to make that office independent of Congress and eliminate the balance of power. Basically, a dictatorship. It is no wonder the American people are in revolt. The whole anonymous movement has only just begun.

World War III launch planned against Iran says U.S. Air Force Veteran USAF veteran, Douglas Herman correctly predicted how the attack on Iraq would play out blow-by-blow in his column: “Shock & Awe”
Here is his call on how the “IRAN WAR” will go down. The war began as planned. The Israeli pilots took off well before dawn and streaked across Lebanon and northern Iraq, high above Kirkuk. Flying U.S.-made F-15 and F-16s, the Israelis separated over the mountains of western Iran, the pilots gesturing a last minute show of confidence in their mission, maintaining radio silence.Just before the sun rose over Tehran, moments before the Muslim call to prayer, the missiles struck their targets.
While U.S. Air Force AWACS planes circled overhead–listening, watching, recording — heavy U.S. bombers followed minutes later. Bunker-busters and mini-nukes fell on dozens of targets while Iranian anti-aircraft missiles sped skyward.The ironically named Bushehr nuclear power plant crumbled to dust. Russian technicians and foreign nationals scurried for safety. Most did not make it…
Targets in Saghand and Yazd, all of them carefully chosen many months before by Pentagon planners, were destroyed.
The uranium enrichment facility in Natanz; a heavy water plant and radioisotope facility in Arak; the Ardekan Nuclear Fuel Unit; the Uranium Conversion Facility and Nuclear Technology Center in Isfahan; were struck simultaneously by USAF and Israeli bomber groups.
The Tehran Nuclear Research Centre, the Tehran Molybdenum, Iodine and Xenon Radioisotope Production Facility, the Tehran Jabr Ibn Hayan Multipurpose Laboratories, the Kalaye Electric Company in the Tehran suburbs were destroyed.
Iranian fighter jets rose in scattered groups. At least those Iranian fighter planes that had not been destroyed on the ground by swift and systematic air strikes from U.S. and Israeli missiles. A few Iranian fighters even launched missiles, downing the occasional attacker, but American top guns quickly prevailed in the ensuing dogfights.
The Iranian air force, like the Iranian navy, never really knew what hit them. Like the slumbering U.S. sailors at Pearl Harbor, the pre-dawn, pre-emptive attack wiped out fully half the Iranian defence forces in a matter of hours.
By mid-morning, the second and third wave of U.S. Israeli raiders screamed over the secondary targets. The only problem now, the surprising effectiveness of the Iranian missile defences. The element of surprise lost, U.S. and Israeli warplanes began to fall from the skies in considerable numbers to anti-aircraft fire.
At 7:35 AM, Tehran time, the first Iranian anti-ship missile destroyed a Panamanian oil tanker, departing from Kuwait and bound for Houston.
Launched from an Iranian fighter plane, the Exocet split the ship in half and set the ship ablaze in the Strait of Hormuz.
A second and third tanker followed, black smoke billowing from the broken ships before they blew up and sank. By 8:15 AM, all ship traffic on the Persian Gulf had ceased.
U.S. Navy ships, ordered earlier into the relative safety of the Indian Ocean, south of their base in Bahrain, launched counter strikes. Waves of U.S. fighter planes circled the burning wrecks in the bottleneck of Hormuz but the Iranian fighters had fled.
At 9 AM, Eastern Standard Time, many hours into the war, CNN reported a squadron of suicide Iranian fighter jets attacking the US Navy fleet south of Bahrain. Embedded reporters aboard the ships–sending live feeds directly to a rapt audience of Americans just awakening–reported all of the Iranian jets destroyed, but not before the enemy planes launched dozens of Exocet and Sunburn anti-ship missiles. A U.S. aircraft carrier, cruiser and two destroyers suffered direct hits. The cruiser blew up and sank, killing 600 men. The aircraft carrier sank an hour later.
By mid-morning, every military base in Iran was partially or wholly destroyed. Sirens blared and fires blazed from hundreds of fires. Explosions rocked Tehran and the electrical power failed.
The Al Jazeerah news station in Tehran took a direct hit from a satellite bomb, leveling the entire block.
At 9:15 AM, Baghdad time, the first Iranian missile struck the Green Zone. For the next thirty minutes a torrent of missiles landed on GPS coordinates carefully selected by Shiite militiamen with cell phones positioned outside the Green Zone and other permanent U.S. bases.
Although U.S. and Israeli bomber pilots had destroyed 90% of the Iranian missiles, enough Shahabs remained to fully destroy the Green Zone, the Baghdad airport, and a U.S. Marine base.
Thousands of unsuspecting U.S. soldiers died in the early morning barrage. Not surprisingly, CNN and Fox withheld the great number of casualties from American viewers.
By 9:30 AM, gas stations on the U.S. east coast began to raise their prices. Slowly at first and then altogether in a panic, the prices rose. $6 a gallon, and then $6 and then $8, the prices skyrocketed.
Worried motorists, rushing from work, roared into the nearest gas station, radios blaring the latest reports of the pre-emptive attack on Iran. While fistfights broke out in gas stations everywhere, the third Middle Eastern war had begun.
In Washington D.C., the spin began minutes after the first missile struck its intended target. The punitive strike — not really a war said the harried White House spokesman — would further democracy and peace in the Middle East. Media pundits mostly followed the party line. By ridding Iran of weapons of mass destruction, Donald Rumsfeld declared confidently on CNN, Iran might follow in the footsteps of Iraq, and enjoy the hard won fruits of freedom.
The president scheduled a speech at 2 PM. Gas prices kept steadily rising. China and Japan threatened to dump U.S. dollars. Gold price jumped sharply higher by more than $400 an ounce. The dollar plummeted against the Euro.
CNN reported violent, anti-American protests in Paris, London, Rome, Berlin and Dublin. Fast food franchises throughout Europe, carrying American corporate logos, were firebombed.
A violent coup toppled the pro-American Pakistan president. On the New York Stock Exchange, prices fell in a frenzy of trading–except for the major petroleum producers. A single, Iranian Shahab missile struck Tel Aviv, destroying an entire city block. Israel vowed revenge, and threatened a nuclear strike on Tehran, before a hastily called UN General Assembly in New York City eased tensions.
An orange alert in New York City suddenly reddened to a full-scale terror alarm when a package detonated on a Manhattan subway. Mayor Bloomberg declared martial law. New York Governor ordered the New York National Guard fully mobilized, mobilizing what few national guardsmen remained in the state.

Franklin Raines was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae. Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae when auditing discovered severe irregularities in Fannie Mae's accounting activities. Raines left with a "golden parachute valued at $240 Million in benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the accounting scandal became clear.
Tim Howard - was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard "was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that would ensure a "stable pattern of earnings" at Fannie. Investigations by federal regulators and the company's board of directors since concluded that management did manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004. Howard's Golden Parachute was estimated at $20 Million!
Jim Johnson - A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. Investigators found that Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson's 1998 compensation from the public, reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million when it fact it was $21 million." Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae.

Slowed but not derailed by Russia and China vetoing its Security Council resolution, America's regime change/war plans remain on track.
In 1999, Washington circumvented the Security Council, UN Charter, and US Constitution to wage aggressive war against nonbelligerent Yugoslavia.
According to former Nuremberg prosecutor Walter Rockler, it "constitute(d) the most brazen international aggression since the Nazis attacked Poland to prevent (nonexistent) 'Polish atrocities' against Germans."
"The United States has discarded pretensions to international legality and decency, and embarked on a course of raw imperialism run amok."
In 1999, Nobel laureate Harold Pinter called America's aggression "barbaric (and despicable), another blatant and brutal assertion of US power using NATO as its missile (to consolidate) American domination of Europe."
It replicated the same process against Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya, as well as indirectly against other MENA (Middle East/North African) countries. More aggression's planned against Syria and Iran, mostly likely in 2012.
Run-up tactics include sanctions, hardening existing ones, imposing new ones, isolation, and closing Washington’s Damascus embassy among other steps. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said:
"The United States has suspended operations of our embassy in Damascus as of Feb. 6. Ambassador (Robert) Ford and all American personnel have now departed the country (allegedly because) the regime failed to respond adequately" to US security concerns.
Hawkish UK Foreign Minister William Hague barely stopped short of declaring war, saying Assad must surrender power. "This is a doomed regime as well as a murdering regime. There is no way it can get its credibility back either internationally or with its own people."
Furious about the Russian/Chinese veto, he added: "There is no way to mince words about this. Such vetos are a betrayal of the Syrian people."
Like Washington and other rogue NATO partners, he also didn't "rule out" recognizing opposition Syrian National Council (SNC) legitimacy, much like Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) won backing against Gaddafi.
In fact, international law prohibits it, but no matter. It doesn't deter Washington/UK/French efforts to circumvent legal standards to advance their joint imperium.
America's UN envoy Susan Rice, an unprincipled offender with higher office aspirations, threatened Russia and China with international isolation for opposing Washington's Security Council action.
She added that America will use all means available against Assad. Like Hague, she stopped short only of declaring war, though, of course, ambassadors have no power to do so. Neither do foreign ministers with platforms only to repeat sentiments of higher-ups.
Of course, Western-backed insurgents are largely responsible for months of Syrian violence. Assad's more victim than villain. So-called Syrian Free Army (SFA) militants promise stepped up efforts ahead. According to SFA commander Colonel Riad al-Asaad:
"There is no other road. This regime does not understand the language of politics. It only understands the language of force."
Behind the scenes, Washington's orchestrating regime change tactics. So far bombing's not included. Expect it if other methods fail. Notorious war goddess Hillary Clinton promised to "redouble our efforts outside the United Nations." Her meaning was undisguised.
She also assailed Russia and China for vetoing SC action. She said doing so "is to bear the responsibility for the horrors that are occurring on the ground in Syria."
Obama repeated the accusation, blaming Assad (for) "murder(ing) hundreds of Syrian citizens, including women and children."
In fact, no nation exceeds Washington's culpability throughout the region. It orchestrated and participated in murdering tens of thousands of Libyans, ravaging the country, and creating incalculable human misery. Moreover, it's directly involved in today's ongoing violence.
Cynically blaming Assad, America's responsible for thousands of Syrian deaths and atrocities. Its bloodstained hands are infamous. Its crimes of war and against humanity touch dozens of countries globally. Syria's now target one, then Iran.
Similar to what preceded America's 2003 Iraq war, Washington, Britain and France now call for a "coalition of the willing" against Assad. If formed, expect Turkey, other rogue NATO partners, regional despots, and Israel (at least covertly) to be included.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy cynically called it a "group of friends of the Syrian people." Excluded, of course, are the opposition Arab street, millions of others globally, and most Syrians supporting Assad.
Major media scoundrels conceal it. Instead, a February 6 New York Times editorial is typical headlined, "Killing in Syria," saying:
Assad "continue(s) his killing spree." Government "forces us(e) tanks and machine guns (against) residential areas in Homs," killing hundreds....Moscow and Beijing now have the blood of Syria's valiant people on their hands as well."
Fact check
Throughout the Western-backed insurgency, Times scoundrels blamed the victim like they always do. Syria was invaded by heavily armed foreign militants. Assad confronted them responsibly. He's obligated to protect his people. Yet he's blamed for externally generated violence.
Russia and China blocked SC action intended to smooth the way to war. Similar to Resolution 1973 against Libya, it made demands and promised "further measures" if unmet.
By standing firm responsibly, The Times condemned Moscow and Beijing for wanting "to deny the West another perceived victory."
At the same time, NYT editors endorse Washington's intention to circumvent international and constitutional law by using other means to topple Assad. It's "time for (him) to go," they stressed, no matter how illegitimate to intervene in the internal affairs of other countries.
Taking Aim at Iran
On February 6, Obama used unilateral Executive Order (EO) authority to impose new sanctions on Iranian assets and central bank.
In a letter to Congress, he said:
"I have determined that additional sanctions are warranted, particularly in light of the deceptive practices of the Central Bank of Iran and other Iranian banks to conceal transactions of sanctioned parties, the deficiencies in Iran's anti-money laundering regime and the weaknesses in its implementation, and the continuing and unacceptable risk posed to the international financial system by Iran's activities."
Like he always does, he lied issuing EO 12957. Accusations are spurious. They apply more to America's deeply corrupt financial system. It involves grand theft, including looting the federal treasury, customer accounts, and other private sources; market manipulation; and money laundering through Wall Street and other Western banks as one of their significant profit centers.
Instead of shutting down this money making racket and prosecuting culpable officials, Obama ordered "All agencies of the United Stated Government (to) hereby... take all appropriate measures within their authority to carry out the provisions of this order" against Iran.
Describing the action as another way to isolate its government, it's more cosmetic than effective as practically no Iranian assets remain in America or under US control.
In other words, it was an election year stunt to win votes and silence Republican hard-liners wanting bombs away now on Iran.
Not opposed, Obama favors delay to concentrate on toppling Assad, isolating Iran, then directing full attention against Tehran by all means necessary. Translation's unnecessary.
On February 5, AFP headlined, "Obama says US working 'in lockstep' with Israel on Iran," saying:
"Obama "sought to reassure Americans over the threat posed by Iran...." If fact, Tehran threatens no one but faces preemptive Western belligerence to replace its government with a client one.
Nonetheless, Obama said:

We're going to do everything we can to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon and creating a nuclear arms race in a volatile region." </BLOCKQUOTE> In fact, US intelligence and IAEA documents show no evidence whatever of an Iranian nuclear weapons program. Obama knows it. So do other NATO states and Israel. Claiming one is a red herring to conceal regime change intentions.
Moreover, America and Israel share responsibility for regional violence and instability, not Iran, Syria, Hezbolloh or Hamas. They're victims, not villains.
Yet Obama claimed his "number one priority continues to be the security of the United States (and) Israel."
In fact, he, Israel, and rogue Western partners prioritize imperial lawlessness against targeted countries. As a result, all options are considered, included preemptive wars with nuclear weapons against Iran's underground facilities.
As a result, all humanity's potentially threatened by deranged leaders too unconcerned to care. That's how Western civilization today is governed.
When asked, no wonder Gandhi mocked its principles for good reason. Imagine what he'd say today.
It seems as if the Secret Government gets what the Secret Government wants. I continue to attempt to understand the Hidden Solar System Power Infrastructure. A lot of this is probably necessary -- but it seems to be out of control, and in the worst of hands. I'm thinking about spending a lot of my time listening to paleo-conservative and libertarian speakers. I still like the idea of basing the solar system on an uncorrupted and properly adapted form of the U.S. Constitution -- which would render the U.N.
