TY for Your Wisdom on this - It is My thinking too and I just said to another that to rush anything now when You see the Energetics of things is to court disaster or at least a result You were not Invisioning. That said I do need to offer this in a restatement just so It is clear.

We would loose No Members - Bank on that - And I would take care of that Personally by making their Profile at the New Forums for Them with a PW They'd supply Me VIA PM. I would do all of the Work so All I was needing was the continued go-ahead | Just with a longer timeframe now so as to accomplish It fully with the new constraints in place by those NOT Us (LOL). Forumotion namely...

Simply put - I get this done for Us as a Community and We run the Show - The whole Shebang and NO OTHER can tell Us what to do as a Community.

It is Time - Long past - That WE All had this opportunity...

I would also offer this finally. I think you have worked very hard on this Merc so to move forward would be fine. If not, is it not simpler to have the portal and just link this forum to it so you dot have to change anything.
There will soon be no internet so we must count our blessings and be happy with what we have otherwise.

Now as Mudra and others have suggested - Don't rush It and I'm not so I will come in here every day and let You All know how close We are to completion on this but as I've already Intimated - Sometimes things don't go as fast as You would hope They would and sometimes One has to readjust due to that.

What makes the above especially touchy is that We have to have impecable timing in doing this so that Members have Their PWs - Can access the New Digs - While at the same time - Coordinating the dropping of a Prior Domain Name on the New Server - And the Aquisition of the One We've bought being Assigned - All cued with the Informational Announcement to You All here when It goes live and We have to go into Maintenance Mode at this Site/Forum for 24 Hours...



Have no fear though - In this I am an Advocate for You All...

I continue to work in efforting this for Us. In My revised estimate I should be able to have the Majority of the above done for Friday of this Week coming up. That said - Update tomorrow...

We want to be able to have ;

- Call-In.

- Mutiple Feeds at the Station (IE. Lines for Guests to be on when We have a Show or Special Broadcast).

- The ability to run Tunes when We aren't Live and doing a Show or Special Broadcast.

So with the above said - Any Suggestions Members may have are of course welcomed...

Merc. the liscence to broadcast music could be very pricey and im sure you dont want to do it illegally. I could donate my music to the station which you could play in a loop whilst off air. In fact if all the musicians here did the same you could have enough material to play around the clock without worrying about royalties etc.

Here is where I have recently done a small test.

I took samples of Popular Music and Re-sampled them to 432HZ instead of the Industry Standard of 441HZ. This added a small amount of time to the Samples but overall did not atrit from Their quality. Upon Uploading - I received Notices about these Pieces but They remain up as Youtube Videos due to the Re-sampling and difference in Them from the Originals (Hence XM432)...


Now If We were to run Music per se - It would either be Samples of People Who were allowing Us to Broadcast Their Music or It would be samples of Music Re-sampled to 432HZ. That said - I'm looking at Shoutcast right now as I've a Friend Whos running It and can advise...

What We really could use is the ability to patch It into Skype and Vice Versa so I will ask this as well as Copyright Issues. I will pull it off though - Just watch...

I am preparing a Post relative to this now Dear Sister. You are in My Mind again...



To be honest - I am thinking of postponing It until Begining of July as Anchor is out due to Health Issues and is not back yet as well as Carol is having some Issues with Her Mother/Family right now.

They both need to see what is going on at the New Webportal and since that hasn't happened yet - A Hold may be the best way to proceed right now. As I said - I will post a follow up about this within the next couple of Hours before I go Offline and get some sleep for work tonight.

That said - As far as the things necessary to do this being done - They are, with the exception of the DNS transfer of the Domain Name over to the New Webportal. That won't happen until We go live so I'm holding off on that obviously.

OK - Here is where We stand...

Items completed

- Website Domain Name purchased.
- Website purchased, Configured and Operational.
- Portal Installed, Configured and Operational.

Items not completed

- Migration of Posts and Threads over to new Forums (We are unable to get the MySQL from the Host so this will have to be done Manually).
- Migration of Members over to new Forums (See above).
- DNS Migration of Our Domain Name to the New Website (This has not occurred due to obvious downtime It would take for the DNS to be changed which can be as little as four hours up to fourty eight hours).
- Installation of Invisionpower Board, Chat, Downloads and Gallery (This is on Hold as the Boards are installed with a MySQL DB and so the Domain Name that any of Their Forums and Boards get installed under is very important and should be what We wish to go with before We Install). It can be changed afterwards but is a real hassle to do even IF Its done right.
- Internet Radio Program Software (?) (Under Investigation as to It's feasability).

Reasons for the temporary postponement of certain elements in Our planned Webportal Migration

- Going Live means shutting down the current Forum for anywheres up to fourty eight hours while the DNS Migration takes place. We are not ready for this ATM (See below).
- Anchor out on Leave due to Health Issues and recuperation involved in that.
- Carol barely has an Internet Connection (28K?) where She is currently and also has to be the Primary Caregiver for Her Mother ATM.
- Both of the above AdMods have not seen the Configuration of the New Website and have not been Instructed on Its Operation due to the above reasons.
- I Myself - Have a Trip planned this next week coming up in which I will be away for about 10 days or so to celebrate My Grandson's Birthday and get away to the Cabin (No Internet at the Cabin). That means that the Forum could be unattended by an AdMod with a New Site up. This is not prudent to do when first getting a Site up and running.

With the above now stated - We will go easy on this. I'll get Carol and Anchor up to Speed when I return from My Trip. We will then decide as AdMods when to move on this.

It will be easier on Us all to plan to go Live at the Beginning of July rather than right now - So this is what I and the other AdMods will endeavour to achieve...

If this changes at all in It either being sooner, or later - I will inform Everyone of that here in this Thread when and if necessary.

This forum seems fine to me. Is there really a need to migrate etc?
