When listening to another person, don't just listen with your mind, listen with your whole body. Feel the energy field of your inner body as you listen. That takes attention away from thinking and creates a still space that enables you to truly listen without the mind interfering. You are giving the other person space - space to be. It is the most precious gift you can give.

    The Chalice of Wisdom - Part 2 - Page 5 Claris10
    Clarissa P. Estés

Page 360/361 from the book "Women who runs with the wolves"
"So, what is the point of this reclamation and focus, this calling back of what has been lost, this running with the wolves?
It is to go for the jugular, to get right down to the seed and to the bones of everything and anything in your life,
because that's where your pleasure is, that's where your joy is, that's where a woman's Eden lies,
that place where there is time and freedom to be, wander, wonder, write, sing, create and not be afraid.

When wolves perceive pleasure or danger, they at first become utterly still.
They become like statues, utterly focused so they can see, so they can hear, so they can sense what is there,
sense what is there in its most elemental form.

This is what the wildish nature offers us: the ability to see what is before us through focusing,
through stopping and looking and smelling and listening and feeling and tasting.
Focusing is the use of all of our senses, including intuition.
It is into this world that women come in order to claim their own voices,
their own wakes, their imaginations, their clairvoyance, their clear-seeing,
their stories, and the ancient memories of women.
And these are the work of focus and creation.
If you've lost focus, just sit down and be still.
Take the idea and rock it to and fro,
keep some of it and throw some away and it will renew itself.
    You need do no more".

    Clarissa P. Estés.

..."That's the life of the warrior, its one who transcends his fears and limitations, its about going beyond who we are today. Today we are limited, even as great as we think we are, there is this 'process' that shows us that there is more to evolve out of us. ... Recognizing it, incorporating it in our daily lives, that's the whole path of being spiritual. We all have different paths, different ways of getting in, into this level of awareness, and I think too many people try to compete 'which method is better than which', and there is a lot of pride involved with it. But in the end its about our own process, our own process of going through self reflection, looking at our own unconscious and reflecting upon that, and that's what changes our world around us." ~Alistar Valadez

When you come to your heart,
you will become one human being
    who stops bothering the world.
Because all are molesting the world
    with their thoughts, judgements, projections.
    You have stopped.
You have come off the wheel of samsara.
    You cease to know anything.

Something is switched off - but mystically it is switched on - beautiful.

“Thus, from the war of nature, from famine and death,
the most exalted object which we are capable of conceiving, namely,
the production of the higher animals, directly follows.
There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been
    originally breathed into a few forms or into one;
and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity,
from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been,
    and are being, evolved.”

"Many of us will discount the universal flow of synchronicities, dreams, imagination, foresight, insight, premonitions, Déjà vu and such, as separate events that may or may not exist, but they all tie in together as layers of our core essence. As they are aspects of one process in motion which we interpret in different ways, for they all have this mysterious quality that deals with unfolding hidden dimensions that begin from within us, as we discover that we truly are the architect that creates our own Universe. IT is not the details in life so much that we must carry and assimilate, for the greatest mystics and sages know that clinging only leads to suffering, but IT is the experience IT-self that serves as the platform for our inner growth and expansion. Even the smallest things we take for granted in this life serve this purpose as well, just as the largest gardens in the world still rely on the smallest bugs to maintain its ecology. The realm of words really does no justice to the visual hidden dimensions within us, as even the best mystics can only speak of this in limited terms and expression, but understanding that we have to see the unreality of self in order to see the reality of Self, IS what brings us great clarity in life. But beyond the dimensions of vision, language is also a layer of dimension, thus why our inner thoughts weigh so heavily, and our outer words shape humanity. The energies of archetypes are also layers of dimensions, as IT is all about growing our awareness of these layers we carry. We can see this with the onion, the goal is not to get to the center, which when we peel we find to only be empty, but IT is about revealing more and more layers, for this IS what leads to our growth and expansion!"

    Stunning Carol.

Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations

    "Even in the darkest spots
Living beings are able to hear it clearly
So that all suffering in them cease
    Understanding comes to their heart
And they transcend the path of sorrow and death.
The universal dharma door is already open
The sound of the rising tide is heard clearly
    The miracle happens
A beautiful child appears in the heart of a lotus flower
One single drop of this compassionate water
Is enough to bring back the refreshing spring to our mountains and rivers.
Listening to the bell I feel the afflictions in me begin to dissolve
    My mind calm
    My body relax
A smile is born on my lips
Following the sound of the bell
My breathe brings me back to the safe island of mindfulness
In the garden of my heart
The flowers of peace bloom beautifully"

    The Chalice of Wisdom - Part 2 - Page 5 Endocr10

Quotations from the book "The esoteric philosophy of Love and Marriage"
    by Dion Fortune

The part in purple is what I perceive as the nature of
shamanism, the balancing of physical body, all forms of life and the spirit
world, a practice creating beneficial communication between the spirit-beings, alive
in humans, animals, plants and minerals, so that competition between the human being and
the physical body will dissolve, in the realization that all living beings are connected in an inter-
    relationship.
To me, that shamanism is artistry on the planes of spirit and physical form both.

(Quote) Polarity on the physical plane
Exoteric science is proving experimentally what esoteric science has long taught that the
    functioning of the
physical organism is controlled from the plane of the instincts and passions. Although
the chemistry of the endocrines controls the functioning of the physical tissues, the endocrines
themselves are controlled by the emotions. The endocrine system is the point where
    exoteric and esoteric science meet.

    Polarity within the organism

There is a secondary type of polarity
    known to esoteric science
    that occurs within
    the individual itself.
    The seven bodies or principles
    of man are relatively
    positive and
negative in their relations to each other,
the more subtle being positive in its relation
to the more dense. Thus, the psychic body, the body
of instincts and passions, is positive towards the negative
physical body, stimulates it to activity and determines its conditions,
subject, of course, to the law of physics and chemistry that control the physical plane.
Each body in the series, then, is controlled by the one above it, and has to await the
stimulus of this subtler body before it can function; likewise, it acts as controller too,
and stimulator of, the body below it in the line of manifestation. It is therefore male in
relation to its denser vehicleand female in relation to the subtler matter that ensouls itself.

The seventh plane monador spark of spiritual life is the prime determinant of the whole septenary
(sevenfold unit), it gives life and individualization, without which there would be no unit at all.
The sixth plane ray conditions determine type, and the fifth plane abstract qualities,in combination
with the ray-type,determine the individualized nature of fundamental traits.

From the fourth plane downwards the personality
is built up by means of experience, for its upon the fourth plane of
the concrete mind that memory begins. The individuality of the three upper planes,
    however, entirely determines the original direction of the path pursued in evolution;
whatever modification may occur as the result of circumstances, the individual will always tend

to revert to its original line of advance as soon as opposition is removed.
The memories collected in the concrete mind naturally determine
the emotional reactions an individual makes to his environment
    upon
the third plane, and his feelings will equally determine
the goals of his instinctive activities upon the second
plane, making him seek that which is pleasant
    and avoid that
    which is unpleasant.

The first plane, as we have already seen,
is regulated by the emotions playing upon the endocrines
    and the impulses given
to the nervous system. We may then say, to sum up,
that each body is governed by the laws of its own plane, and that its functioning
are regulated by the body of the plane immediately above its own.
Thus, the physical body being controlled by the psychic body,
we should seek to influence that body if the control of
the physical machinery should go amiss.

This we do from the third plane, which
is the plane of picture consciousness,
by causing it to dwell upon images of health
    and perfect functioning; these pictures,
if they arise with sufficient clearness and persistency in the picture-consciousness
of the third plane, will pull the second plane body into line, and cause it to send
corresponding impulses to the dense vehicle, which, as soon as the poisonous
    chemical combinations arising
from faulty functioning can be expelled from
the system, and provided no organic change has taken place,
will then revert to conditions of health.

This remedial process has been popularized
    by the system
known as auto-suggestion, and a more
elaborate and far reaching application of it has been made by Christian Science,
wherein the fifth plane aspect of the mindis induced to dwell on abstract principles of harmony,
and control assumed from that plane.
When true spiritual healing occurs, as contrasted with so-called spiritual
healing arising from the auto-suggestion of religious faith, it takes place
from the seventh plane itself, the monad assuming control of all bodies
below it and determining their conditions, an exceedingly rare occurance.

In the ordinary course of nature the mutual control of the series of vehicles
goes steadily on,but the man who wishes to raise the forces of any particular body
to a high potentiality, can deliberately avail himself of it. Supposing the man we are considering
is a creative artist, he can raise the potentiality of his astral body
(for it is upon the third plane that the
imaginative arts are carried on) by bringing tho bear upon it his intellect in addition to his imagination.
He will find that the application of the concrete mind to the problem of a half-visualized work
will cause his emotion to concrete itself into an artistic form, a concretion that would not have
taken place had nothing beyond emotional forces of the third plane fired him.

    Equally, upon the fourth,
    or plane of concrete thought,
he must bring into function his power of abstract
mentation if he is to see the implication of the facts he is considering.
Abstract thought must derive its stimulus from spirit itself. This action and reaction,
between two of a man's vehicles which is necessary for creative work, for that externalizing of
the force within an individual by providing for it a vehicle in the matter of one or other of the planes,
whether the vehicle be in the form of the written word upon the mental plane, or of sound or color
upon the astral, would be regarded by the esoteric scientist as an example of the everlasting principle
of polarity underlying all creative functioning.

A reverse flow of the current, however, is
sometimes achieved; a man may seek to stimulate a
particular vehicle by means of the one below
instead of the one above; this, he may cause his concrete mind
to throw his abstract mind into a state of activity. In this case we get the man
who uses abstract principles in the service of particular instances, who demands
that the laws of the universe shall fall in with his standards of right and wrong,
who reads his own interpretations into the utterances of minds
greater than his own and then presents them as
    justifications of his views.

He is one-sided, bigoted, unamenable to argument,
and unable to see any other side of the case
    than that which he has predetermined;
thus the nature of the lower plane limits
    the inspiration available through
    contact with the higher.

    Equally, the man whose
emotions prompt him to intellectual work
is inclined to seek to prove a case rather than
to discover the truth, and where the emotions are controlled
by the appetites rather than the reason we have unstable, inconstant,
violent individual, "all things by turns, and nothing long", the sentimentalist,
lacking the driving force and intelligence necessary to give effect to his dreams.
When the instincts are controlled by the physical sensations rather than the tender affections
which should humanize them into love, we have the sensualist, cruel or voluptuous as his passions
    fluctuate with his endocrines.

Alcohol is one of the most potent factors in
reversing the polarity of the bodies. Absorbed by
the physical body, it speeds up the vital processes
till the dense vehicle is more actively energized than
the subtler bodies, and therefore becomes positive
in its relations to them, and capable of giving the
stimulus that sets them creating. When,
however, the urge of the alcohol
    slackens, there is a period
    of "slack
    water"
    as the
    flow
    of the
    vital current
comes to a stop before it
    can reverse its motion
    and resume its natural course.

    This constitutes one
aspect of the reason well known

This video made my day today.
It's awesome, how I experience deep fear, receiving unconditional love,
the presence of love that is within my own heart and around it, in the air.
IT's awesome to find IT in unexpected moments of relief. That I can and do receive IT,
wholeheartedly. Something within is giving way, but oh so quickly frightened
for IT being too much in one moment.
IT needs the company of humor to bring IT into a flow.
Feels like training a new muscle, this gentle treading feels like when I watch Philippe Petite,
in his walking of the rope stretched between the World Trade Center Towers in New York 1974.

Zen Story: "After winning several archery contests, the young and rather boastful champion challenged a Zen master who was renowned
for his skill as an archer. The young man demonstrated remarkable technical proficiency when he hit a distant bull’s eye on his first try, and
then split that arrow with his second shot.

“There,” he said to the old man, “see if you can match that!” Undisturbed, the master did not draw his bow, but rather motioned for the
young archer to follow him up the mountain.

Curious about the old fellow’s intentions, the champion followed him high into the mountain until they reached a deep chasm spanned by a rather flimsy and shaky log. Calmly stepping out onto the middle of the unsteady and certainly perilous bridge, the old master picked a far
away tree as a target, drew his bow, and fired a clean, direct hit.

“Now it is your turn,” he said as he gracefully stepped back onto the safe ground. Staring with terror into the seemingly bottomless and beckoning abyss, the young man could not force himself to step out onto the log, no less shoot at a target.

“You have much skill with your bow,” the master said, sensing his challenger’s predicament, “but you have little skill with the mind that lets
    loose the shot.”"

    The Chalice of Wisdom - Part 2 - Page 5 Seeing-in-a-sacred-manner

I have spoken before about unplugging from the man-made matrix; removing ourselves from the stories that hold us prisoner to fear, hate, ego, and dis-ease. The man-made matrix is essentially the dominant paradigm comprised of a system of beliefs that has been in place for thousands of years and perpetuates the separation of the human species from the earth, from all other beings, and from each other. This matrix exists, essentially, in all aspects of life. It infects our food supply, our oceans and rivers, our rain forests, our wildlife, our air. Our hearts, minds, and spirits are suffering as a result of everything this man-made matrix touches. It resembles a plague; a disease that vigorously attempts to infect everyone in its path. And since it is everywhere, we are all in its persistent path of destruction as it continually attempts to feed off of the life force of everything, ourselves included. The man-made matrix is the direct cause of all human suffering.

When we remove ourselves from the distractions of the world and enter into silence, a world of information beyond our ordinary senses emerges filling us with wonder and wisdom. It is when we connect with the earth in silence that the oneness and unity of all things become clear to us. Our seeing becomes activated. Seeing is more than looking with our eyes, it is our ability to perceive and sense and feel the energy of the cosmos and each thing within it as it truly exists.

Seeing is not something that is exclusive to shaman, it is a sense to which we all have access. If we are caught up in the distractions of the world and the illusions that we are constantly bombarded with, our seeing becomes limited or disappears completely. And then our belief in the man-made matrix increases, fueling separation and futility and we become more strongly chained to an illusory construct that doesn’t even belong to us.

When we take the time to sit within silence, we are able to identify the patterns of the world.  It is through meditation, sweat lodge, vision quest or going within that we recognize the patterns upon patterns. This is restorative to our spirits and our souls and as our true knowing begins to increase it strengthens our will to succeed in transcending old, destructive, repetitive patterns.

Why is it that we humans become so caught up in the stories and dramas of the world? What motivates us to give away our power to deceptive realities? The stories that we buy into are the very illusions that prevent us from living our lives in a state of balance, connection, mutual respect, well-being, abundance, and love. When we became disconnected from the earth, from silence, we became disconnected from our hearts and our souls and each other.

As seers we have the potential and the power to create new stories and visions, new and amazing points of awareness, to truly be a multi-faceted reflection of the diverse and inexplicable beauty that flows through the universe. We can transform the profane into the sacred. In so doing we will once again embody a sense of connection with all living things within this great and beautiful web of creation, this all-encompassing and mysterious web of life.

The Chalice of Wisdom - Part 2 - Page 5 Blackelk

When we live our lives in alignment with the center of consciousness within ourselves, we come to know that our connection with every living thing is an extension of the great energetic flow of awareness that serves as the most transformative force in the universe. This force is the universal life force vibration of pure primal and original energy that resides within us and simultaneously all around us; in everyone, and everything that we know.

This vibration is our connecting link with spirit. It is a harmonic frequency that resonates with the combined, similar energies that invariably produce the state of oneness with all things within the universal life-force flow of infinite energy. To attain this vibrational frequency, practicing mindful meditation or entering into silence allows us to focus on the present moment without judgment. And when we focus on gratitude we find that as we open ourselves to the center of consciousness within ourselves, the energetic vibrations that we send out will be returned to us many times over.

Aligning with the universal life force energy that constantly flows through us while we are in a state of silent gratitude, we may come to find ourselves floating in complete surrender and looking into or feeling into the unknown. Once we get our bearings we begin to understand and come to know what it means to experience the oneness with the Universe. The sacred hoop of eternal oneness is restored. This is the connecting link that unites us to the profundity of an infinite and eternal universe.

Dancing within the sacred hoop we begin to see ourselves reflecting out into the primal life force energy and reciprocally, the primal life force energy mirrors back into us. We realize that we are no longer separate and that we exist in our entirety, as a piece of the oneness of being. When this occurs, we no longer place any emphasis on the “what ifs” in life and simply allow ourselves to be in the flow of “what is” in life. We come to recognize and observe things from a universal perspective which allows us to see the big picture of the interconnectedness of all things.

Like a magical doorway opening into the unknown, the sacred hoop or connecting link is made with the eternal universal life-force energy through our intention, surrender, and gratitude. An undulating vibration is created that moves along the energetic lines of the established connecting link and on either side of the portal, both the infinite and the mortal, we are empowered and energized through an incredible and reciprocal harmonic frequency.

With our awareness expanding as the direct result of our imminent connection to the consciousness within, we are free to create our own story, to co-create with the energy of the universe in a dance of harmonic frequencies and vibrations; the very ones through which we arrived on this planet in the first place.

As more and more people begin to awaken to the universal truth that not only exists in the cosmos but that is a spark of light ready to be ignited within themselves, the opportunities to move forward and evolve into the creative and co-creative beings that we are meant to be will come bursting forth and a deep sense of humility, trust, fluidity, and mutual respect will prevail.
