Mother Nature Got Angry Caught On Camera in Afghanistan
A series of powerful earthquakes occurred in western Afghanistan on Saturday.
The magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck about 40 km from the city of Herat around 11 a.m. local time.
The epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.
It was followed by several powerful aftershocks.
Many buildings were damaged and people were trapped under rubble.

Afghanistan is hit by another earthquake, days after tremors and aftershocks killed over 2,000

    Oct 11, 2023 #earthquake #afghanistan #worldnews

The magnitude-6.3 earthquake in Afghanistan's Herat province flattened all 700 homes in one village that had been untouched by the tremors of previous days.

Aftermath of Nepal earthquake that killed dozens
A moment magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Jajarkot District, Karnali Province, Nepal at 23:47 NPT (18.02 UTC) on 3 November 2023

Deadly quake strikes Nepal, toppling homes and killing at least 157 people

This handout photo provided by Nepal Prime Minister's Office shows an earthquake-affected area in northwestern Nepal, Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023. Helicopters and ground troops rushed to help people hurt in a strong earthquake that shook northwestern Nepal districts just before midnight Friday, killing more than 100 people and injuring dozens dozens more, officials said Saturday. At least 157 people have been killed in an earthquake that struck a remote part of northwestern Nepal overnight on Friday and toppled multiple buildings, as officials warned that the death toll could rise, according to a police official.

The quake measured magnitude 5.6 according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and hit some 42 kilometers (about 26 miles) from Jumla, Nepal, in Karnali province. It struck at a comparatively shallow depth of 18 kilometers and the tremors could be felt as far away as India’s capital, New Delhi.

“We are only focused on search and rescue operation right now,” Nepal police spokesperson Kuber Kadayat told CNN Saturday. “That’s why we don’t yet have a proper estimate of collapsed and damaged houses and other infrastructure. There are some villages where an estimated 90% of houses have collapsed.”

According to Kadayat, 157 people have so far been confirmed killed and 170 injured, making Friday’s tremor the deadliest since 2015.

In Jajarkot district, close to the quake’s epicenter, 105 people were confirmed dead and another 55 injured. In nearby Rukum West district, 52 were killed and 85 injured, Kadayat said.

Footage from Reuters showed multiple houses reduced to smashed piles of bricks and timber in Jajarkot.

Army personnel carry an injured person on a stretcher after an earthquake in Jajarkot, Nepal, November 4, 2023.

Earthquakes are common in Nepal, which lies where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates meet to create the towering Himalayan mountain range.

At least 9,000 people were killed in 2015 when a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit, damaging some one million homes and buildings across swathes of the nation and causing $6 billion in damage.

Officials told Reuters that they feared casualties would rise in Friday’s quake because they had not been able to establish contact in the hilly area near the epicenter, some 500 kilometers (300 miles) west of the capital Kathmandu, where tremors were also felt.

“The number of injured could be in the hundreds and the deaths could go up as well,” Jajarkot district official Harish Chandra Sharma told Reuters by phone.

“Many houses have collapsed, many others have developed cracks. Thousands of residents spent the entire night in cold, open grounds because they were too scared to go into the cracked houses as aftershocks struck,” Sharma added.

Jajarkot district has a population of 190,000 with villages scattered in remote hills. Pictures released by AFP news agency showed survivors gathering at Jajarkot’s main hospital.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the loved ones of those killed in the earthquake.

“Deeply saddened by loss of lives and damage due to the earthquake in Nepal,” Modi wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and is ready to extend all possible assistance. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families and we wish the injured a quick recovery.”

This is a developing story and will be updated

Philippines is shaking! Monstrous scenes of a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Mindanao!

On November 17, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake shook the Philippines.
The epicenter was located in the sea at a depth of 60 km, 30 km from the southern tip of the country.

The tremors were felt strongly on the island of Mindanao, home to about 26 million people.

No tsunami warning was issued, but waves were recorded on the shore after the earthquake.

From Dutchsinse Earthquake Update - November 24, 2023
    https://t.me/DutchsinseFans/703

Heads up, a large M6.5 earthquake has struck next to the volcano that just did the largest blast on the planet for the whole year (so far).....

New large M6.5 earthquake in Papua New Guinea West of Ulawun Volcano.

    > 11/26/2023 -- Earthquake Forecast -- New M7 activity due in Central America, M6+ in South Japan

New update recorded LIVE on youtube!!!!! Sorry for the low resolution, its the best I can squeak out currently.

    > Poland hit by a M4.0 (M3.9) as expected after the M4.2 earthquake struck Romania (Southeast),

The new M4 in Poland striking as the wave travels around the outside edge of Eastern Europe.

The seismic forecast from a day ago called for this in Poland. See the earthquake forecast here, talking about Poland at approximately the 15min mark

Info on the M3.9 (M4) in Poland from Geofon here:

    https://geofon.gfz-potsdam.de/eqinfo/event.php?from=rss&id=gfz2023xfej

    > 11/27/2023 - I find it VERY strange that no one noticed the rare M3.6 earthquake In Illinois last week was next to the LaSalle Illinois Nuclear power plant.

How is it that everyone missed this obvious fact?

This makes me question every professional in the industry when they deliberately hide and / or ignore things like this.

How can anyone blame me for not trusting the "professionals" when they do stuff like this?!

    > Kangaroo Island / Adelaide Australia has now started moving.

As expected? Well... location and time.. yes...

So far so good that it is in the M2.0 range, however we are looking for the area to go up to M4.5 !

If it stays in the M2 range then I'm 100 times off on the amount of power expected.

Either way it is spot on in location and time for movement to begin.

Today is day 2 of the 7 day watch. If magnitudes stay low at Kangaroo Island area, then we should see slightly bigger down by Perth and up by Uluru. https://earthquakes.ga.gov.au/event/ga2023xiparb

    11/29/2023 -- Earthquake activity update --
Unrest spreading , where to watch next

This update covers the locations currently moving, and where we expect activity next.

As explained in this video, things should take the next step up seismically over the next 4-7 days taking the new M-class solar flare into account (if the charged particles and stronger solar wind arrive within 3 days of the M-class solar event yesterday Nov 28 2023).

The full earthquake forecast for this week can be seen here if you need to know details on each location warned:
    ==

    https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/wsa-enlil-solar-wind-prediction

Sun is the center yellow dot, the wave which spreads out is the M-Class flare's charged particles carried by the solar wind... Earth is the green dot.

Time scale is days at the bottom of the chart and charged particle density is the color coding on the left.

Seismically speaking, we wait about 2-3 days for the charged particles to arrive from the Sun... then... we usually see Northern and Southern Auroras at the poles for about a day or so....then... it takes about 2-3 days for the energy to go to the core and come back up as new deep earthquakes and shallower large quakes next to the deep earthquake locations.

All in all, it usually takes about 6-7 days from the point of an Earth facing solar storm until we see the actual beginning of the seismic response.

The seismic response can respond for days or even weeks after the "gong" of the core is rang.  Think of the power increase to the core like turning up a bass subwoofer -- low frequency vibrating up and out much more.

The effect is similar to a rattling trunk on a car with a subwoofer inside.  The plate above begins to vibrate and break.

Simply put, after an Earth facing solar storm, it takes 3 days for the particles to arrive, then another 2-3 days for the energy to go to ground and come back up as quakes.  It can take up to a week.

We have seen it happen quicker as well , within a day of the arrival of the charged particles (if the solar blast is large and the solar wind is strong).
    [/size]

When you think about earthquakes, South Carolina doesn't necessarily come to mind. However, 2023 has been a year of multiple quakes in the Midlands area of the state. Most every one of them has been a 2 something on the rector scale so it been rumbling and nothing to bring down buildings but there has been a rather steady stream of them. During the first part of the year there were easily some 30 or more most occurring in the area between Columbia and Camden. For the last couple weeks there have been a dozen north of Columbia near a nuclear plant. :)

Post  Carol Fri Dec 01, 2023 5:26 pm

12/01/2023 -- Southern California M4.8 Earthquake East of San Diego Southern California was struck by a significant M4.7 to M4.8 earthquake, just East of San Diego.

This is about 150 miles South of the area we warned for an upper M4 to low M5 to strike.

All areas mentioned in this video should be struck within the next 7-10 days (or less). The forecast for last week has now expired.

Several locations from last weeks forecast were direct hits, including the M7.1 at the Izu ridge, the M6.3 (m6.5) West of Sumatra, M6.7 (m7.0) at Vanuatu, and M6.7 (M7.2) at Philippines.  Add in Taiwan and Japan today with identical M5.1s in both countries.

The USA portion is somewhat of a flop, M2.4 struck the location at Ventura California instead of M4 (100X less power than expected but spot on in location and timing).

The East coast at Quebec technically still has 48 hours to watch , but it looks like it will be 1 full magnitude less than expected (good thing!) M3.0 range instead of M4.0.

M3.0 range are spreading equally across the whole North American plate currently, as shown in this video , reaching as far East as Kansas (so far).  Should reach Quebec within 48 hours from now.

I will do additional updates as necessary.

If you would like to do your own earthquake forecasting, or fully test the methods we have publicly developed over the past 12 years, feel free to test and repeat each step of the method by learning the method here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTONWLDIpQs

Real world example from 2018 and a much fuller explanation of how things work here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txQFnGZvuHo

Note, the above video from 2019 is on the day of the largest earthquake in California in the past 20 years. I had issued a warning 2 days before, calling for M7+ level to strike central California.  Then on July 4, 2019 the M7+ earthquake struck Central California at Ridgecrest CA.

When the large earthquake hit, people demanded that I make a new video explaining the method (how to repeat the earthquake forecasting method).  Which I did promptly upon the quake striking.

By watching both videos (the long version and the short robot text version), you should be able to start doing your own basic seismic forecasting, and develop it into something very accurate.

Currently we are able to get things down to about 200 miles of an area (a region or state), within 1 magnitude of what actually strikes, and within 7 days time (sometimes 10 days depending on the size of the area or events moving).

    Dutchsinse Earthquake Updates

Heads up: A rare somewhat large M5.8 earthquake has struck at Bangladesh.

This likely caused some damage. We'll see if news comes out of the area.

Unfortunately, the location has several structures all around the area.. several towns and buildings :( ... link to see on google earth here: https://tinyurl.com/22cv9ue8

As you can see from this graphic of the past 36 hours of earthquakes, the M5.8 is part of a large cluster of M5's going on across Asia.

This is a sign of the previous "seismic wave" from this past week being absorbed into the continent, and going West now seeking out the plate boundary near Bangladesh. Should press Westward towards Iran / Mideast soon and flare up there as it spreads.

The previous seismic wave from last week in the West Pacific resulted in a M7 range quake on the Izu ridge, a 60,000 foot high blast at Ulawun volcano in Papua New Guinea (largest on the planet for the year), and M6's going from Philippines to Vanuatu.

That seismic wave now absorbing into Asia and spreading to Alaska. We are still watching for big M6 to M7 compensation across the Pacific at the Central America into South America border region of Panama.

No wonder I literally was awoken out of a deep sleep today with a splitting headache !
    https://www.sws.bom.gov.au/Satellite/3/2

This graphic shows the projected magnetopause around Earth plus the satellites in rotation which are protected by it from strong electromagnetic interference from the solar wind.

The numbers going out from Earth are "diameters of earth" distance... example: 10 is ten diameters of Earth distance out from the planet.

Click the arrow back button to December 1 to see the planets magnetopause be compressed and bent around.

The Earth's magnetosphere compressed in as the proton particle density and solar wind picked up (as the M-class flare charged particles / wind arrived today).

You will see the magnetosphere being buffeted, expanding out when quiet spots pass by, and then being compressed again as new blasts of charged particles (proton density increases) and solar wind speed increases.

I have noticed that during almost every large solar storm , that day I get the most intense headache ever!

So when I woke up with a splitting headache today , I knew to check the above feed from the BOM in Australia.

A new M7.0 earthquake has struck back in the Philippines in a slightly different spot AND ... a new 50,000 foot high volcanic eruption has occurred at Mount Marapi in Indonesia!!!!!

I tried going live and it started with 6 people, I shut it off when I realized no more than 150-200 people were being allowed into my youtube stream. Censorship.

12/03/2023 -- New Large M7.0 Earthquake and 50,000ft Volcanic Eruption - Pacific Unrest Spreading

A new 50,000ft (15240m) volcanic eruption has occurred at Mount Marapi in Sumatra Indonesia (not to be confused with Mt. Merapi in Java Indonesia).

Additionally a new large M7.0 (USGS M6.6) has occurred back in Philippines, near the original M7.7 earthquake epicenter from yesterday December 1-2,2023

This is on top of the FL600 (60,000 foot) eruption from Mount Ulawun in Papua New Guinea, and the new Volcanic island forming on the side of Iwo Jima to the North on the Izu Ridge.

Also the seismic activity has been noteworthy (increase wise from where we were before this new unrest event started).  Multiple M7+ events plus the eruptions all in about less than 1 months time.

Yesterdays (Dec 1-2) solar storm arrival has put fuel on the fire so to speak when it comes to seismic activity already taking place.

It looks like we are going to take another step up soon this week from where we already are.  And since we're already at M7.7 level, things this coming week might be very strong indeed.  I hope I'm wrong but with the solar storm arriving yesterday, I don't see how we could go DOWN in size from this point.

Tomorrows forecast will cover all of this for the coming 7-10 days.

M7.6 Earthquake Hits Mindanao, Philippines - Dec. 2, 2023 linog sa Mindanao

A powerful earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 struck Saturday off the southern Philippine coast, prompting many villagers to flee their homes in panic around midnight after Philippine authorities issued a tsunami warning.

The quake struck at at a depth of 32 kilometers (20 miles), according to the U.S. Geological Survey. There were no immediate reports of major damage or casualties.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center initially said that based on the magnitude and location, it expected tsunami waves to hit the southern Philippines and parts of Indonesia, Palau and Malaysia. But the center later dropped its tsunami warning.

In Japan, authorities issued evacuation orders in various parts of Okinawa Prefecture, including for the entire coastal area, affecting thousands of people.

Teresito Bacolcol, the head of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, told The Associated Press his agency advised residents along the coast of southern Surigao del Sur and Davao Oriental provinces to immediately evacuate to higher ground or move farther inland.

Massive M7.6 earthquake hits near the west coast of Honshu, Japan — major tsunami warning issued for Ishikawa - Monday, January 1, 2024
A very strong and shallow earthquake registered by the JMA as M7.6 (preliminary) hit near the west coast of Honshu, Japan at 07:10 UTC (16:10 local time) on January 1, 2024. USGS and EMSC are reporting it as M7.5 at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).

A major tsunami warning has been issued for Ishikawa Prefecture. Tsunami warnings were also issued for Niigata, Toyama, Yamagata, Fukui and Hyogo prefectures along the Japan Sea coast.

Residents in the coastal Noto area in Ishikawa Prefecture were asked to evacuate immediately to higher ground.

Authorities have warned of waves as high as 5 m (16.4 feet) in Noto.
Russia also issued tsunami warnings in its far eastern cities of Vladivostok and Nakhodka.

The epicenter was located in Ishikawa Prefecture, Noto Peninsula about 42.1 km (26.2 miles) NE of Anamizu (population 17 840), 55.4 km (34.4 miles) NNE of Nanao (population 45 309), 66.4 km (41.2 miles) NNW of Nyūzen (population 25 007), 68.8 km (42.8 miles) NNW of Kurobe-shi (population 41 564), and 88.7 km (55.1 miles) N of Toyama (population 415 844).

    121 000 people are estimated to have felt severe shaking, 548 000 very strong, 3 917 000 strong, 3 323 000 moderate and 43 998 000 light.

A tsunami around 1 m (3.3 feet) high struck parts of the west coast along the Sea of Japan, with a larger wave of up to 5 m (16.4 feet) expected, public broadcaster NHK reported.

This is the first time a “major tsunami warning” was issued since the 2011 earthquake in northeastern Japan. The warning is issued when tsunami of 3 m (10 feet) or more are expected.

Tsunami waves have been observed following the quake, NWS PTWC said at 08:57 UTC. Based on all available data, hazardous tsunami waves are forecast for some coasts. Tsunami waves reaching 0.3 to 1 m (1 – 3 feet) above the tide level are possible for some coasts of DPR of Korea, Japan, and Russia. Tsunami waves are forecast to be less than 0.3 m (1 foot) above the tide level for the coasts of the Republic of Korea.

Footage aired by NHK showed buildings collapsing in Ishikawa, and tremors shook buildings in the capital Tokyo on the opposite coast, local media reported.

More than 36 000 households lost power in Ishikawa and Toyama prefectures, utilities provider Hokuriku Electric Power said.

Japan’s Nuclear Regulation Authority said no irregularities have been confirmed at nuclear power plants along the Sea of Japan, including five active reactors at Kansai Electric Power’s Ohi and Takahama plants in Fukui Prefecture. Hokuriku’s Shika plant in Ishikawa, which was located the closest to the quake’s epicenter, had already halted its two reactors before the quake for regular inspection and saw no impact from the quake, the agency said.

The USGS issued a Yellow alert for shaking-related fatalities and Orange for economic losses. Significant damage is likely and the disaster is potentially widespread. Estimated economic losses are less than 1% of GDP of Japan. Past events with this alert level have required a regional or national level response.

Overall, the population in this region resides in structures that are resistant to earthquake shaking, though vulnerable structures exist. The predominant vulnerable building types are heavy wood frame and reinforced/confined masonry construction.

Recent earthquakes in this area have caused secondary hazards such as tsunamis, landslides, fires and liquefaction that might have contributed to losses.

    Update
    10:02 UTC, January 1, 2024

Numerous aftershocks have been reported, including M6.1 at 07:18.

The following are tsunami wave observations from coastal and/or deep-ocean sea level gauges at the indicated locations, as reported by NWS PTWC at 09:49 UTC. The maximum height is measured with respect to the normal tide level.

    10:34 UTC

The city of Toyama, Toyama prefecture, reported a tsunami of 80 cm (2.6 feet) at 07:35 UTC (16:35 LT).

The tsunamis are expected to repeatedly hit the coast and may become higher. People in those areas must evacuate immediately and escape to higher ground to stay far away as possible from the coast, NHK reported.

    10:41 UTC

Reports are emerging of widespread damage, including a significant fire in Wajima City, medical responses in Suzu City with some doctors unable to access the hospital, and infrastructure damage in Himi and Oyabe, Toyama Prefecture, with reports of road cracks and broken water pipes. The affected hospital is relying on a spare generator due to power outages.

The East Japan Railway Company has suspended the Akita Shinkansen line and partially halted Hokuriku Shinkansen services post-quake, with resumption times unclear. Meanwhile, the Nuclear Regulation Authority reports no issues with the Shika nuclear plant’s reactors in Ishikawa Prefecture, which, as noted by Hokuriku Electric, were offline prior to the earthquake.

    11:44 UTC

JMA has downgraded the “major tsunami warning” issued for Ishikawa Prefecture. A “tsunami warning” is now in effect for the prefecture and other prefectures around the region, and officials are urging caution.

People in those areas are being asked to evacuate immediately, escape to higher ground and get as far away as possible from the coast.

The agency says tsunamis will repeatedly hit the coast and may become higher.

    11:49 UTC

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa confirmed many buildings collapsed following the quake in Ishikawa Prefecture. At a news conference, he noted ongoing damage assessments and reported six instances of individuals trapped. He urged the public to heed emergency information and evacuate if in tsunami warning areas.
