    Agenda 21

Agenda 21 is a non-binding, voluntarily implemented action plan of the United Nations with regard to sustainable development.[1] It is a product of the Earth Summit (UN Conference on Environment and Development) held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992. It is an action agenda for the UN, other multilateral organizations, and individual governments around the world that can be executed at local, national, and global levels. The "21" in Agenda 21 refers to the 21st Century. It has been affirmed and had a few modifications at subsequent UN conferences.

    Structure and contents

Agenda 21 is a 350-page document divided into 40 chapters that have been grouped into 4 sections:

Section I: Social and Economic Dimensions: is directed toward combating poverty, especially in developing countries, changing consumption patterns, promoting health, achieving a more sustainable population, and sustainable settlement in decision making.

Section II: Conservation and Management of Resources for Development: Includes atmospheric protection, combating deforestation, protecting fragile environments, conservation of biological diversity (biodiversity), control of pollution and the management of biotechnology, and radioactive wastes.

Section III: Strengthening the Role of Major Groups: includes the roles of children and youth, women, NGOs, local authorities, business and industry, and workers; and strengthening the role of indigenous peoples, their communities, and farmers.

Section IV: Means of Implementation: implementation includes science, technology transfer, education, international institutions and financial mechanisms.

    Development and evolution

The full text of Agenda 21 was made public at the UN Conference on Environment and Development (Earth Summit), held in Rio de Janeiro on June 13, 1992, where 178 governments voted to adopt the program. The final text was the result of drafting, consultation, and negotiation, beginning in 1989 and culminating at the two-week conference.

Not a new topic but one that's been on my mind since I first heard of it and couldn't quite figure out why that program was controversial.
So I decided to make some further research on the subject to get to the bottom of it.
What is great is that I found a site that gives you a course on the subject which I am finding quite interesting.
For me it's still an ongoing study study

But first a video to introduce things:

And here is the link to the course . It runs through 10 lessons :

    Agenda 21 Course
Understanding Sustainable Development and How It Affects You

Lesson 1:Learn the definition, short history, and the 3 E’s of Agenda 21.

Lesson 2: How America has been made to accept the scam called Agenda 21.

Lesson 3: How through the Wildlands Project private property rights will be destroyed and a One World Order implemented.

Lesson 4: Once confined to human settlements human behavior must be strictly controlled by Smart Growth strategies.

Lesson 5: Taking control of Wall Street and Main Street and their associated wealth must occur to create a One World Order.

Lesson 6: How the Feds use grants to help implement Agenda 21.

Lesson 7: Regional governments, created by the fed. gov’t., use grants funneled down from the fed. gov’t. to undermine the control of our local representative government.

Lesson 8: Explains how our people must be dummied down and indoctrinated to create good Global Citizens who think that they are here to serve the needs of the government (includes info. on Common Core).

Lesson 9: Explains how Non Governmental Organizations (such as the Sierra Club, Zero Population Growth, etc.) use of the Delphi Method to implement Agenda 21.

Lesson 10: Many ideas for how to activate yourself to stop the implementation of Agenda 21.

    Lesson 1:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxNftp_E4AU

All the other lessons and more to be found here :  Arrow http://www.agenda21course.com/course-videos/

So how far have we got worldwide in the development of agenda 21 ?
Any testimonies of  implemented things  people have observed in their own areas related to this program ?
In Belgium, in my neighbourhood  I have discovered there is an association gathering many different groups  that work actively to take actions along the lines of Agenda 21.
Agenda 21 certainly found an audience.

ReGen Village, outside of Amsterdam, doesn't need a grid or food systems. It's a model for a future, fully closed-loop settlement.

    Agenda 21 3060167-inline-7-this-new-neighborhood-will-grow-its-own-food-power-itself

If you live inside one of the houses in a new neighborhood being built in an Amsterdam suburb, your dining room might be next to an indoor vegetable garden. Outside, you'll have another seasonal garden. And down the street, almost everything you eat will be grown in high-tech vertical farms.

The neighborhood will be the first ReGen Village, a new type of community designed to be fully self-sufficient, growing its own food, making its own energy, and handling its own waste in a closed loop.

Any household waste that can be composted will feed livestock or soldier flies. The soldier flies will feed fish, and fish waste will fertilize an aquaculture system that produces fruit and vegetables for the homes. Seasonal gardens will be fertilized by waste from the livestock.

By using the most advanced methods for growing food—a combination of aeroponics, aquaponics, permaculture, food forests, and high-yield organic farming—the neighborhood will grow many times more food than a traditional farm of the same size, with fewer resources. Aquaponics, for example, can produce 10 times as much produce on the same amount of land, with 90% less water.

"We anticipate literally tons of abundant organic food every year—from vegetables, fruit, nuts, legumes, fish, eggs, chicken, small animal dairy and protein—that can continually grow and yield in the vertical garden systems all year long as supplement to the seasonal gardens and farming adjacent," says James Ehrlich, CEO of ReGen Villages, the California-based developer, which will also manage the neighborhood-slash-farm. The company partnered with Effekt, a Danish architecture firm, on the design.

The community will also produce its own energy, using a mixture of geothermal, solar, solar thermal, wind, and biomass. "We're looking at some very interesting technologies for small-footprint biomass that can take surrounding farm waste and turn that into a consistent energy source in a way that can power these communities in northern Europe even in the dead of winter," Ehrlich says. A smart grid will distribute power efficiently, sending it to a carport to charge shared electric cars as needed.

A biogas plant will turn any non-compostable household waste into power and water. A water storage system will collect rainwater and graywater and redistribute it to seasonal gardens and the aquaponic system.

It's the first of a network of similar communities that ReGen plans to build around the world.

"We're really looking at a global scale," he says. "We are redefining residential real-estate development by creating these regenerative neighborhoods, looking at first these greenfield pieces of farmland where we can produce more organic food, more clean water, more clean energy, and mitigate more waste than if we just left that land to grow organic food or do permaculture there."

The first 100-home village is on the outskirts of Almere, a quickly growing town 20 minutes by train from Amsterdam. Inside Almere, the company is also building a scaled-down version with 35 condo units. The company also has more projects planned in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Germany, but plans to expand everywhere.

"We're really looking at starting off as the Tesla of eco-villages," Ehrlich says. "That's the idea. So we're coming out as a little bit higher-end for Northern Europe." Next, the company wants to adapt the system for arid climates such as the Middle East.

...There's a problem with self-sustaining, essentially closed systems in a world currently run by money:  they are exclusive.  Everyone else on the outside will want a piece of it but, unless you have money, you won't be allowed 'in' because that will disrupt the balance of the community.  It's the 'we are special' syndrome, and that will only cause more strife and animosity on the 'outside' and the 'inside'.  Eventually, this kind of system will be brought down because of all the disparity.

An inclusive system would be the solution.  An example of a no money, no barter, no trade inclusive system is UBUNTU contributionism.

Note on the word 'Smart':  they sure like to use that word a lot, don't they?  We certainly don't want to be stupid, now, do we?  (It's all mind-control.)

Wow, thanks, mudra! I love you  I almost missed this... just stumbled over it.  I didn't get notification for some reason.

Yes... a society without money would solve almost all these manufactured problems in a heartbeat.  They certainly do not want us to have THAT.

Clocks haha.  As a joke (about keeping time in general) I made my own 'reversed' clock where the numbers and arms go counter-clockwise.

It looks very similar to this but mine sports the name, 'Nonlinear':

    Agenda 21 ?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.findmeagift.co.uk%2Fimages%2Fproduct_images%2Foob281-backwards-clocks

I've gotten so used to it that 'normal' clock faces look weird to me and I have to really think when I look at them (which I think is hilarious).  It's so fun to mess with one's own head. Very Happy  Btw, I don't wear a wristwatch anymore. Oooyeah 1

Man.  Sick, sick, sick. Agenda 21 Svomit_100-122  I read some of it...  They actually have the gall to call poverty the tyrant -- when it is they who are the tyrants forcing poverty on the masses.  And, then they pretend they actually want to eradicate it.  It's almost amusing.

They may appear to be making headway, but that's because they still control most (if not all) mainstream media outlets and governments.  There's a heck of a lot of opposition you never hear about. But... we're starting to thanks to the internet.

I don't know...  I just won't accept that these monsters will win, mudra.

Hehe funny way you are keeping track of time Pris Cheerful

I also don't wear a wrist watch either. To get up in the morning I have my biological clock which always proved right :)
The more gadgets we use the more of our inner abilities are stimulated.
That's probably how this civilization fell in such apathy.

Regarding these agendas above Pris I am unable throw the baby with the bathtub water as I believe  the way we have
been dealing with our planet and each other within our nations and between nations needs to be corrected and  improved upon.
Some of the threads I opened here wouldn't exist otherwise. But ...

As already mentioned by others the ideas laid down in these agendas are seductive on first glance.

My research so far has revealed these agendas are being built worldwide on a local basis.
In my country as well as in others citizens are invited to take part in certain groups making decisions
for a more sustainable future that are then implemented. When looking more closely into these groups
you clearly see they use agenda 21's vision and the global warming theme that goes along with it as their guide line
    and even plainly say so.
And so you see various associations being formed that are an offspring of these original groups some dealing with
organic food others to enhance the streets for bikes , others to organize activities for kids in green plots so that families
would come to know each other better and so on.

So on a local basis there is some drive taking place calling upon citizens to participate actively into these sustainable measures and they like it .
This is so well done, the agreement so well grooved in one feels the terrain is being gradually been prepared so that in the long run every one will agree with any future measures that will come along from above.

Well I don't know what these measures will exactly be and as there is a lot of local involvement it will finally be up to us really .
I am in favor of organic gardens, community gardens, recycling, using a bike ( I do not own a car nor have I ever driven one ) , preserving nature , respect of other human beings across nations and so on..

But what I know is the very idea of having to live in one of these zombies cities below is something I do not want:

That's probably how this civilization fell in such apathy.

You're right of course.  The subtle, seemingly innocuous ways they're pushing forward their Agenda 21 (and all their other crap, crap, crap) can't be ignored.  I'm not the smartest cat on the block and always think if I can figure it out, there's hope for others...

WOW!  You really have a knack for finding stuff that's the worst of the worst, mudra! Bleh  If I focus on this negative shite too long, I think I'll commit hara-kiri (nothing personal, it's why I deliberately avoid some of your threads/posts).

I don't know how you have the stomach for this...  Sadly, we need tough people like you to help wake people up.

What you've found here -- this is practically a copy-paste Frankenstein's money/consumer-based, twisted and perverted version of Jacque Fresco's beautiful no-money, resource-based vision, The Venus Project.  Do they really think nobody will notice??

Jacques Fresco mentioned many of his inventions were taken from him as he didn't unfortunately have the money to patent them all.
One can clearly see in these futuristic sustainable/smart cities where part of the ideas come from. I wonder how he feels about this ?

How does patenting an idea stop unscrupulous interest groups from using and perverting it to their own advantage anyway?  When has it ever stopped them?

Besides, does anybody really 'own' anything let alone an idea?  Can you 'own' a tree, a rock?  Nature existed long before we showed up.  And, we were here long before others showed up with their fictions to enslave us.  Who has the right to 'capture' anyone or anything?  I feel it is the height of arrogance (and mental instability) to think one 'owns' anything.  We're all entangled... we're all made of the same stuff and we all share thoughts.  This selfish, greedy, competitive, money-infected closed mentality we've been conditioned with to accept as 'normal' needs to stop.  A healthy organism doesn't chew off its own limbs.  It lives in harmony with itself and everything else in its surroundings.

More and more, I think we need to continue sharing our ideas and inventions freely without ownership, without patents.  The more we share and cooperate as sovereign individuals (our natural state when we aren't brainwashed), the harder it is to contain us and the less control the system has over us.

The current system is precisely set up to benefit only the psychologically unbalanced few and forever attempts to halt anything that benefits and empowers the masses.  We, the majority, need to become aware of this and not allow it to continue.

Do you know of anything in the realm of human affairs that doesn't have an idea at it's source ?
I don't think the problem lies in ownership but rather in being stripped away from what you have honestly produced. Either maliciously, forcefully without your consent and doing same to others. This is robbery. Suppression of ownership and dishonesty are the problem.
As we share and exchange ideas we share and exchange the products of our ideas too. I think it is something natural to do and a very valuable one when done willingly and spontaneously.
