The State Department admitted Thursday that the US would not hand over $400 million in cash to Iran until it released four American hostages — two weeks after President Obama insisted the payment was not a “ransom.”
State Department spokesman John Kirby was asked at Thursday’s press briefing: “In basic English, you’re saying you wouldn’t give them $400 million in cash until the prisoners were released, correct?”
“That’s correct,” Kirby replied.
In an Aug. 4 press conference, President Obama said the opposite.
“We do not pay ransom. We didn’t here, and we won’t in the future,” the president told reporters, speaking of the Jan. 17 payment and hostage release.
Families “know we have a policy that we don’t pay ransom. And the notion that we would somehow start now, in this high-profile way, and announce it to the world, even as we’re looking in the faces of other hostage families whose loved ones are being held hostage, and saying to them ‘We don’t pay ransom,’ defies logic,” Obama added at the time.
He lectured the press for even raising the issue.

All leaks of classified information are not created equal — at least not for top officials running Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
Some of the same staffers who were apparently nonchalant about their boss sending classified information over her private email server are now irate over the possible leak of Clinton’s FBI interview to reporters.
“Already hearing from people who have been contacted by reporters with knowledge of the content of their interviews in FBI 302’s,” campaign chair John Podesta said Wednesday night on Twitter.
A 302 is an interview summary produced by FBI agents. Podesta’s claim is that the FBI’s interview summary of the one they conducted with Hillary Clinton — which they shipped this week to Capitol Hill — has already been leaking to the press.
“Tough protocols on access to FBI’s 302’s must have included Republican speed dial to reporters,” Podesta added on Twitter.
The Clinton campaign communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, scolded: “Would remind all that this material is classified. So this is leaking of classified material.”

The officials, though, didn’t seem so concerned about the safeguarding of classified information when it was housed on a private server owned by their boss, Clinton.
Indeed, Palmieri denied it even existed. “Hillary didn’t send any classified materials over email: Hillary only used her personal account for unclassified email,” Palmieri claimed in a blog post more than a year ago.
Palmieri’s statement was contradicted by FBI Director James Comey, who said, “From the group of 30,000 emails returned to the State Department, 110 emails in 52 email chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received.”

Malia Obama (main, with President Obama and inset bottom left, on vacation on Martha's Vineyard in 2014) was reportedly a guest at a wild party on Martha's Vineyard that police ended up coming to break up last week. The 18-year-old is with parents President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle and sister Sasha on their final vacation as First Family on the Massachusetts island. Malia went to the party at the private home in West Tisbury near the presidential summer retreat, the Boston Herald reported, but was escorted home right as officers responded to a noise complaint. Earlier this month, she was pictured dancing (top left) and taking a drag of what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette at the Lollapalooza concert in Chicago.

Further documents reveal the Foundation’s role in funding many of the groups that would later become “Black Lives Matter”. Also striking are the documents stark discussion of demographic realities, however, they do so in a way that’s menacing for members of the Historic American Nation.

Of course, it’s not just in the United States that Soros and his foundations are making plays. Throughout Europe, they have been fundamental in shaping establishment and leftist discussion of the “refugee” crisis and various “human rights” issues.
The Daily Caller reports that Soros funded organizations view the crisis as the “new normal” and having “opportunities” to influence public opinion through it. In particular The Daily Caller notes the role of the International Migrant Initiative’s role in shaping EU refugee policy:
Moreover, it has been revealed that Soros was a major funder of the Ukrainian “revolution”. Which is part of Soros’ general strategy against Vladimir Putin’s Russia. A big part of which seems, is because Putin’s Russia won’t buy into the “open society” total vision of Soros and co.
In the wake of these revelations, Russia has already taken steps to curb the influence of Soros non-profits and is wise to do so. If only our “right-wing” would be as brave.
One amusing thing to come from these revelations is the work the Open Society Foundation is doing to promote “human rights” and generally big (L)iberalism in Israel. Which would only lead to the sort of self-doubt and weakness that would lead to the fall of an ethnically homogenous Jewish state. Ha!
One assumes that if this issue is picked up at all, it will be the above that “conservatives” will endlessly kvetch about. Meanwhile, they do their best to support Soros foundations war on Russia over such “human rights” issues as transgenderism, and whatever else is the latest in the multi-kulti death cult that rules us today, all as the same values are being promoted in the United States.
The issue remains the same globally, survival.

Because of these factors, North Carolina now has roughly nine million residents, slightly larger than the population of New York City, making it the third most populous southern state (after Texas and Florida). It is changing rapidly, with one third of the population now people of color and a tri-racial population dynamic – African-American, Latino, and white –replacing the Black/white dominance of old. North Carolina through the 1990s had the fastest growing immigrant population and in the 2000s had the fastest growing Latino population. Moreover, it has been revealed that Soros was a major funder of the Ukrainian “revolution”. Which is part of Soros’ general strategy against Vladimir Putin’s Russia. A big part of which seems, is because Putin’s Russia won’t buy into the “open society” total vision of Soros and co.
In the wake of these revelations, Russia has already taken steps to curb the influence of Soros non-profits and is wise to do so. If only our “right-wing” would be as brave.
One amusing thing to come from these revelations is the work the Open Society Foundation is doing to promote “human rights” and generally big (L)iberalism in Israel. Which would only lead to the sort of self-doubt and weakness that would lead to the fall of an ethnically homogenous Jewish state. Ha!
One assumes that if this issue is picked up at all, it will be the above that “conservatives” will endlessly kvetch about. Meanwhile, they do their best to support Soros foundations war on Russia over such “human rights” issues as transgenderism, and whatever else is the latest in the multi-kulti death cult that rules us today, all as the same values are being promoted in the United States.
The issue remains the same globally, survival.
European peoples the world over are being dispossessed and hollowed out. These revelations are just the sort of thing we’ve all known for a long time, but it’s nice to see them so plainly stated. But don’t expect to hear about it on the nightly news!

Then he saw all the progress obama was making and decided to make obama his man and tell hillary to hold out as secretary of state and then he'd make her president next time. Soros found a way to be the president for 16 years. He's a hateful horrible man and I cannot wait until he dies. In August 2012 the Secretary of State at the time was one Hillary Rodham Clinton. The President was and still is one Barack Hussein Obama.
The DIA report said, in essence, that if we (the U.S. and our local cronies) keep aiding al-Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, and other such sterling democrats, something really nasty would arise in eastern Syria. Hillary Clinton AVOIDS a deposition but is ordered to answer conservative watchdog's questions about emails
A federal judge on Friday ordered Hillary Clinton to respond in writing to questions about her use of a private email server when she was secretary of state.
US District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan granted conservative legal advocacy group Judicial Watch a partial victory after they sought to question the Democratic nominee in person and under oath as part of a long-running public records lawsuit.
Judicial Watch must submit its questions by October 14, giving Clinton 30 days to respond in a timetable that could push her answers past November's election.
The State Department will also have to release any emails recovered by the FBI's probe into Clinton's server by September 30, according to the court order.

A federal judge on Friday ordered Hillary Clinton to respond in writing to questions about her use of a private email server when she was secretary of state.
US District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan granted conservative legal advocacy group Judicial Watch a partial victory after they sought to question the Democratic nominee in person and under oath as part of a long-running public records lawsuit.
Judicial Watch must submit its questions by October 14, giving Clinton 30 days to respond in a timetable that could push her answers past November's election.
The State Department will also have to release any emails recovered by the FBI's probe into Clinton's server by September 30, according to the court order.

Judicial Watch is among several groups, including The Associated Press, that have sued the State Department over access to government records from Clinton's tenure as the nation's top diplomat between 2009 and 2013.
Republicans are pressing to keep the issue of Clinton's email use alive after the FBI closed its investigation last month without recommending criminal charges.

53% Of Clinton Foundation Donors Would Be Barred Under Proposed Rule
More than half of the Clinton Foundation’s major donors would be prevented from contributing to the charity under the proposed self-imposed ban. On Thursday evening, alongside Trump's unexpected statement of "regret", Bill Clinton made another just as important announcement when he said that should Hillary become president, the $2 billion Clinton Family foundation will no longer accept money from any corporate and foreign donors and will bring an end to its annual Clinton Global Initiative meeting regardless of the outcome of the November election. To this we responded that this was to be expected: after all "once Hillary is president, she will no longer need a backdoor way of legally receiving Saudi and other foreign money: at that moment, billions in Saudi dollars will be deemed perfectly acceptable for passage through the front door, mostly in exchange for weapons and ammo."
Other had similar reactions, with the announcement drawing skepticism on Friday mostly from the right left as critics wondered why the Clintons have never before cut off corporate and overseas money to their charity, and more importantly why they would wait until after the election to do so. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus tweeted Friday that the Clintons’ continued acceptance of those dollars during the presidential campaign is a “massive, ongoing conflict of interest."
The left also spoke up, when Nina Turner, a former Ohio state senator who was a leading surrogate for Clinton’s rival in the Democratic primary race, Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.), said the restrictions were a good step but should be imposed immediately. “In my opinion, and in the opinion of lots of Americans, this should have been done long ago,” she said.
As it turns out, the self-impossed restrictions would be more stringent than those put in place while Clinton was secretary of state - ironically when the temptation to bribe the top US diplomat was far higher - when the foundation was merely required to seek State Department approval to accept new donations from foreign governments, permitting the charity to accept millions of dollars from governments and wealthy interests all over the world. They would also be stricter than the policy adopted when Clinton launched her campaign that placed some limits on foreign government funding but allowed corporate and individual donations, for the simple reason that Hillary was willing the accept cash for any and all future favors.
Others questioned why Clinton had now decided that the foundation should rule out donations that she apparently thought were acceptable during her tenure as the country’s top diplomat. “Is it ok to accept foreign and corporate money when Secretary of State but not when POTUS???” Donald Trump Jr., son of the Republican nominee, tweeted Thursday night.
But how much of the Foundation cash actually came from abroad? According to a WaPo analysis of disclosed donors, more than half of the Clinton Foundation’s major donors would be prevented from contributing to the charity under the proposed self-imposed ban. The analysis, which examined donor lists posted on the foundation’s website, found that 53% of the donors who have given $1 million or more to the charity are corporations or foreign citizens, groups or governments.
The list includes the governments of Saudi Arabia and Australia, the British bank Barclay’s, and major U.S. companies such as Coca-Cola and ExxonMobil.
According to public record, there are at least 59 donors who "donated" between $1 and $5 million, 5 who donated between $5 and $10 million, 11 who donated between $10 and $25 million, and 2 who donated in the top, $25+ million bracket (the full bracket breakdown can be found here).

[/url]As the WaPo puts it, "the findings underscore the extent to which the Clintons’ sprawling global charity has come to rely on financial support from industries and overseas interests, a point that has drawn criticism from Republicans and some liberals who have said the donations represent conflicts of interest for a potential president."
The foundation's spokesman had a canned, prepared response: Craig Minassian said that the limits would be imposed “to avoid perception issues while ensuring the people who depend on our programs continue to be served.”
But isn't blocking outside funding essentally confirming that all the Foundation does is peddle influence, and confirming all those "perception issues"? Issues such as this: nearly half of likely voters, 47%, said they were bothered a lot by the foundation’s acceptance of money from foreign countries while Clinton was secretary of state, according to a Bloomberg News poll in June. That’s similar to the 45% of voters who were bothered by Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns.
Minassian did not directly answer questions about why the restrictions would be tighter than they were when Clinton was at State. As for why they would not be imposed until after the election, he said that the foundation did not want to presume the outcome and that taking action “before then would needlessly hurt people who are being helped by our charitable work around the world.”
There are other questions: why - if Hillary loses - will the foundation continue to accept foreign cash, even if it would henceforth suggest the pandering to wealthy foreign special interest groups; although the answer is quickly answered - should Hillary lose, her political career, and her presidential aspirations will be finished, and as such nobody will donate further as no possible future favors could be recovered from a post-loss Hillary.
Another relevant point, brought up by WaPo, is that the announcement of the new rules is unlikely to defuse the foundation as a potent campaign issue.
Critics seized on the fact that the restrictions would go into effect only in November, if Clinton was elected, meaning donors could race to give money before the deadline — but in time to curry favor with a Democratic nominee who is leading in the polls. The left-leaning columnist Jonathan Chait wrote on the website of New York magazine Friday that the new policy is an “inadequate response to the conflicts of interest inherent in the Clinton Foundation” and demonstrates that Clinton “has not fully grasped the severity of her reputational problem.”
Even with the restrictions wealthy individuals would have the opportunity to use foundation donations as “chits” he said. “Ultimately, there is no way around this problem without closing down the Clinton Foundation altogether,” he wrote.
Which also confirms what many critics - mostly on the right - had been saying all along, namely that it is not a question of when the Foundation should be shuttered, but why it has accepted hundreds of millions in mostly foreign donations over the years, which is the clearest form of buying favors from a person who has never made a secret of her intention of being US president one day.
Finally, while the fate of the Clinton Foundation is being decided, Hillary's key financial backers continue to make their presence felt, and as Politico reported today, just two megadonors accounted for almost two-thirds of the July contributions to Hillary Clinton's main super PAC in July. They were investors Donald Sussman, founder of the Paloma Partner hedge fund, and Daniel Abraham, each gave $3 million to Priorities USA Action. The super PAC's total haul was $9.9 million, down from $11.9 million in June. The group finished July with $38.7 million cash on hand.
Other donors included Jay Robert and Mary Kathryn Pritzker with $450,000 each and, of course, billionaire George Soros, who gave $35,308.

Donald Trump has called for an independent special prosecutor to be assigned to investigate the Clinton Foundation, saying that neither the FBI nor the Department of Justice can be trusted after their judgment on Hillary Clinton’s email controversy.
“The Clintons made the State Department into the same kind of pay-to-play operation as the Arkansas government was: Pay the Clinton Foundation huge sums of money and throw in some big-speaking fees for Bill Clinton, and you got to play with the State Department,” Trump said during a speech to supporters in Akron, Ohio.
“The amounts involved, the favors done and the significant number of times it was done, require an expedited investigation by a special prosecutor immediately, immediately, immediately,” Trump said.
US federal law implies that independent counsel can be appointed if the attorney general determines that an investigation by the Department of Justice “would present a conflict of interest for the department or other extraordinary circumstances” and “that under the circumstances, it would be in the public interest to appoint an outside special counsel,” Time magazine says.
Trump specifically stressed that, considering how the Department of Justice and the FBI handled the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of private email while she was secretary of state, their impartiality is questionable.
“After the FBI and Department of Justice whitewash Hillary Clinton’s email crimes, they certainly cannot be trusted to quickly or impartially investigate Hillary Clinton’s new crimes, which happen all the time.”
The Republican nominee said he does not have faith in current US Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
She met with former President Bill Clinton in June and said they did not discuss the ongoing investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server for classified governmental correspondence while serving as secretary of state.
“The Department of Justice has acted very unethically, particularly the [US] Attorney General’s [Loretta Lynch], private, lengthy, 39-minute meeting in the back of an airplane, before the Department’s [of Justice] decision not to prosecute her for crimes that would have been prosecuted against any other citizen of our country,” Trump said.
“Some former prosecutors have even suggested that the coordination between the pay-for-play State Department and the corrupt Clinton Foundation constitute a clear example of a RICO [Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization] enterprise,” the Republican candidate said.
“If the Justice Department fails to do so, it will make it even clearer that a second of the four primary constitutional departments have been corrupted,” Trump added.
On Monday, Judge James E. Boasberg of the Federal District Court ordered a September 22 deadline for the State Department to review the estimated 14,900 emails from Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state. The decision means that Clinton’s emails could potentially be released as early as mid-October, mere weeks before the presidential election on November 8, the Wall Street Journal noted.

“Colin Powell is a man of unimpeachable integrity and Hillary Clinton’s efforts to blame Colin Powell for her decision to have a private server and use a private email account, it’s very offensive to those of us who hold him in high regard and respect his enormous contributions to this nation,” Pence said in response to the revelations Powell made in an interview with People Magazine, burning Clinton’s latest excuse—one she reportedly used in her interview with the FBI.
Pence, GOP presidential nominee and billionaire businessman Donald Trump’s running mate, called on Hillary Clinton to actually do a press conference instead of a pre-choreographed media interview so she can answer these questions. As of Monday, it has now been 261 days since Hillary Clinton’s last press conference. Pence also said the Clinton team’s promise to not take foreign and corporate donations into the Clinton Foundation should she win the election doesn’t wash with voters because she did do so when she was Secretary of State.
Pence told Breitbart News:
I think Hillary Clinton has to stand before the media and the American people and answer questions about the relationship between foreign and corporate donors to the Clinton Foundation and her actions as Secretary of State. It is breathtaking that the Clintons have now announced she will no longer accept corporate and foreign donations if she is elected President of the United States. That’s too little too late. It is remarkable that they now acknowledge that if she becomes president that contributions from corporate and foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation would represent a conflict of interest, when apparently they think that didn’t represent a conflict of interest when she was Secretary of State.
That’s why, Pence said, when he was in Iowa earlier on Monday—and in his interview with Breitbart News—he reiterated his and Trump’s call for Hillary Clinton to dismantle the Clinton Foundation immediately. He said the ability for corporate and foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation to donate between now and the election means they can “make down payments on” favors to be paid later by a potential Clinton White House. He went on:
I have to tell you, I think that just defies logic and frankly today in Iowa I reiterated Donald Trump’s call that Hillary Clinton should shut down the Clinton Foundation immediately. The very idea that they will continue to accept donations by corporations and foreign donors between now and election day is totally unacceptable. That would give foreign donors and corporations the opportunity to make down payments on access to the Clinton administration before she’s elected. Look, the American people have a right to know—they have a right to know what happened while she was Secretary of State and what access and what actions were afforded to corporations and foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation. But the important thing, as Donald Trump and I have both said to date, Hillary Clinton should shut down the Clinton Foundation immediately and cease and desist any further fundraising activities during the balance of this campaign and going forward.
All of this, Pence noted, is happening on the backdrop of previous revelations that career law enforcement professionals at the FBI were seeking to launch a public corruption investigation into the Clinton Foundation and Hillary Clinton’s actions at the State Department—something politically motivated officials at President Barack Obama’s and Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s Department of Justice shut down. Pence noted that if Americans want to end the corruption, and bring it to a “screeching halt,” the choice on election day is simple: Vote for Donald Trump. A vote for Trump, he said, is a vote to end all of this because he has no “special interest” in his ear except for the American people.
“It was a few short weeks that the first batch of emails that seemed to confirm a direct connection between favors granted by State Department officials and foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation, and within 24 hours of that we learned that the FBI months earlier had sought to initiate a public corruption investigation into the Clinton Foundation,” Pence said. “That was shut down by officials at the Obama Justice Department. This all simply smacks of the kind of pay-to-play politics that the American people are tired of, and as I said again today in Iowa, this is exactly the kind of pay-to-play politics that is going to come to a screeching halt the day that Donald Trump becomes president of the United States of America. It is accurate to say that when Donald Trump becomes president, the days of this rigged system for a favored few will come to an end, because Donald Trump’s only special interest will be the American people.”

New Abedin Emails Reveal Hillary Clinton State Department Gave Special Access to Top Clinton Foundation Donors

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released 725 pages of new State Department documents, including previously unreleased email exchanges in which former Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin provided influential Clinton Foundation donors special, expedited access to the secretary of state. In many instances, the preferential treatment provided to donors was at the specific request of Clinton Foundation executive Douglas Band.
The new documents included 20 Hillary Clinton email exchanges not previously turned over to the State Department, bringing the known total to date to 191 of new Clinton emails (not part of the 55,000 pages of emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department). These records further appear to contradict statements by Clinton that, “as far as she knew,” all of her government emails were turned over to the State Department.
The Abedin emails reveal that the longtime Clinton aide apparently served as a conduit between Clinton Foundation donors and Hillary Clinton while Clinton served as secretary of state. In more than a dozen email exchanges, Abedin provided expedited, direct access to Clinton for donors who had contributed from $25,000 to $10 million to the Clinton Foundation. In many instances, Clinton Foundation top executive Doug Band, who worked with the Foundation throughout Hillary Clinton’s tenure at State, coordinated closely with Abedin. In Abedin’s June deposition to Judicial Watch, she conceded that part of her job at the State Department was taking care of “Clinton family matters.”
Included among the Abedin-Band emails is an exchange revealing that when Crown Prince Salman of Bahrain requested a meeting with Secretary of State Clinton, he was forced to go through the Clinton Foundation for an appointment. Abedin advised Band that when she went through “normal channels” at State, Clinton declined to meet. After Band intervened, however, the meeting was set up within forty-eight hours. According to the Clinton Foundation website, in 2005, Salman committed to establishing the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) for the Clinton Global Initiative. And by 2010, it had contributed $32 million to CGI. Lahita told Fox Business that he agreed with Dr. Drew on several points about Hillary’s health. Last week, Drew told KABC that he is “gravely concerned” about Hillary Clinton’s health, noting that the treatment she has received is “bizarre”.
“This is a very unusual story with Hillary,” said Lahita, making reference to her suffering two blood clots, a stroke and post-concussive syndrome, which caused Hillary to have to wear special prism glasses to counter her double vision.
“The very fact that she’s having these clots and she’s had two bouts of thrombosis is disconcerting to say the least,” said Lahita.
Asked whether the concerns over Hillary’s health were objectively authentic regardless of politics or whether the leftist media were right to label the issue a conspiracy theory, Lahita responded, “I don’t think it’s a conspiracy.”
“You go back to the history of our presidents and we’ve had many presidents up until Lyndon Johnson who’ve concealed their health during their campaigns and it had dire effects for our country, going from Kennedy to Roosevelt, to Woodrow Wilson whose wife ran the White House for some time – so we have issues here and I think both candidates should be very forthcoming and perhaps have an impartial panel of physicians review the data and make that kind of decision before Americans go to the polls,” remarked Lahita.
Dr. Lahita also dismissed claims by the media that a summary released last year by Hillary’s personal physician Dr. Lisa R. Bardack saying she was in good health was enough to satisfy questions over Clinton’s fitness to serve as president.
Calling for a more recent assessment, Lahita said, “We should be able to see the laboratory results ourselves, the letter is kind of a summary (it) doesn’t go into much detail,” adding that more information on Hillary’s hypothyroidism would also be “quite interesting”.
“We owe it to the country, we owe it to the voters, not only for the presidential candidates, but also for the vice-presidential candidates – particularly in this election,” concluded Lahita.
According to his bio, “Doctor Lahita is Professor of Medicine at Rutgers University, the medical school of New Jersey, and an adjunct Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the Chairman of Medicine and Vice President of the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a master of the American College of Rheumatology, and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.”
Lahita has also authored more than 16 books and 150 scientific publications in the field of autoimmunity. He doesn’t really fit the picture of an ‘Internet conspiracy theorist’, which is how the Clinton campaign is attempting to characterize anyone who questions her health.

New York Times Tech Columnist Calls on Google to Hide Hillary Health Info

New York Times tech columnist Farhad Manjoo is calling on Google to “fix” its search engine results to hide evidence of Hillary Clinton’s failing health.
“Go online and put down, ‘Hillary Clinton illness,’ and take a look at the videos yourself,” Rudy Giuliani recently said on Fox News, during an argument about how sick Clinton really is.
Manjoo of the Times called for Google to “fix” the problem of search results possibly hurting the Democratic nominee.
A Google search for “Hillary Clinton illness,” following Giuliani’s comments and Manjoo’s call for action, turns up some independent journalistic articles from Breitbart, Infowars, and others, alongside articles trying to debunk the story, like the Vox piece: “The bonkers conspiracy theory about Hillary Clinton’s health.”
In reality, Clinton’s health is becoming a major issue in the campaign.
Photographs of Hillary Clinton being helped up a flight of stairs in South Carolina recently set the Internet on fire. Though Clinton’s doctor Lisa Bardack released a perfunctory letter in 2015 describing Clinton as healthy, most voters want her to make a full disclosure of her health records. Multiple Twitter hashtags — #HillarysHealth, #HillarysStools, for example — became dominant trends on the social network.
Clinton is still taking strong medications, such as the blood thinner Coumadin after she suffered a blood clot and concussion. Dr. Drew Pinsky described her drug regimen as “1950s-level care” on his radio show this week. Clinton frequently leans against stools on stage at her campaign speeches, and she admitted that she was exhausted by the end of the Democratic convention in Philadelphia — even though, as far as this reporter could tell, she was just sitting in her hotel the entire time until she gave her acceptance speech to scattered boos.

12 Reasons Why This Was Hillary Clinton’s Worst Week Ever
1. ‘Clinton Cash’ reached critical mass
Peter Schweizer’s book Clinton Cash made allegations of corruption and pay-for-play — that Hillary Clinton leveraged her power as Secretary of State to benefit big donors to the Clinton Foundation — and that scandal has simmered since before the book’s release last May. Early on, several establishment news outlets investigated the narratives of Clinton Cash and confirmed many of its findings. Leaked documents from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) showed that the party deemed the Clinton Foundation a vulnerability for Clinton; the global charity, worth billions, received zero mentions during the week-long Democratic National Convention. This did not fix the Clintons’ optics problem, however. The obvious question, posed by Schweizer, was why it was okay for Secretary of State Hillary to accept foreign donations while it is not okay for President Hillary to do it. The Washington Post crunched the numbers and found that this ban would cut off a majority of the org’s donors. And one of the Foundation’s flagship operations said that it might ignore the directive from the Clintons anyway. On Sunday, the left was in total meltdown. The Huffington Post, which reliably downplays bad news for Hillary, ran the lead headline “JUST SHUT IT DOWN,” linking to a New York Times story focused on the “complications” the Foundation could bring to a Clinton (45) presidency. On Sunday-morning news shows, even the so-called “Clinton News Network” CNN grilled Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook about the Foundation. Sen. Ben Cardin, while defending the Clintons, conceded that “they clearly need to change the way they do business.”
2. John Podesta’s firm is now under FBI investigation
The “pros” in establishment media spent the first half of the week posting hit pieces on Paul Manafort for his lobbying efforts in Ukraine. Left out of their headlines and snarky Tweets: the firm involved in that work was The Podesta Group, founded by Hillary Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta and his brother Tony.
The FBI revealed in a Friday-night news dump that it had opened an investigation into the Podesta Group‘s involvement with former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich. It also would investigate Manafort’s lobbying firm, but the consultant had already tendered his resignation from Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Podesta remains active in Clinton’s campaign.
Podesta is not the only Clinton associate currently targeted by the FBI. Just months ago, the Bureau announced a probe into Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe’s campaign funds — which touches on his time on the board of the Clinton Global Initiative.
3. Her health questions also went mainstream
Dr. Drew Pinsky said Clinton was receiving “1950s level care” on his radio show. A hashtag mocking Clinton’s campaign-trail habit of sitting on stools dominated Twitter. None other than MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked Clinton in person to respond to the memes about her health. Hillary laughed it off, but the optics of her tightly controlled campaign events — and Trump’s taunts about her “stamina” — are clearly in Team Clinton’s head. Campaign manager Robby Mook, unprompted, attacked Trump for not releasing his own health records during a Sunday TV interview.
On Sunday, Trump surrogate Rudy Giulani told TV viewers to search for “Hillary Clinton illness,” which so freaked out a New York Times columnist that he urged Google to hide content questioning Clinton’s health.
4. She has to answer questions about her emails under oath
As reported by Breitbart’s Ken Klukowski: “District Judge Emmett Sullivan granted one of Judicial Watch’s discovery requests to force Clinton to personally answer questions under oath.”
Judicial Watch, for those who don’t know about the organization, will not be asking softball questions — to put it lightly. And there are already rumblings of a perjury case for her sworn testimony before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.
5. She tried to frame an innocent black man Colin Powell
Clinton told the FBI that she sought the advice of Colin Powell before setting up her private, unsecure, homebrew email server — which housed messages containing classified information for her work as Secretary of State. Powell said she was not being honest — that “Her people have been trying to pin it on me.”
Even the Washington Post called this excuse “just plain wrong.” This opens up another can of worms; if she lied to the FBI, that could lead to criminal charges.
6. She was MIA from the campaign trail the whole second half of the week
#WheresHillary became the #1 worldwide trend on Twitter, as users trolled her for going 259 days without a press conference and then going most of the week without any public campaign events. Donald Trump fanned the flames with a one-word answer to the question: “Sleeping.”
7. She was MIA in responding to the biggest U.S. natural disaster since Sandy
Donald Trump and his running mate Mike Pence landed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Friday, talked with victims of the region’s historic floods, and handed out supplies for aid. Local residents, former Senator Mary Landrieu, and Governor John Bel Edwards all praised Trump’s visit for bringing attention to the state during its time of need.
As Trump seized the moment, Clinton was nowhere to be found. After sending some perfunctory sympathies by phone and social media, Hillary spent the weekend in some of the most affluent areas of New England: Martha’s Vineyard for Bill’s 70th birthday, thenProvincetown with Cher for a $1.5 million fundraiser. And on Wednesday night, she met privately with pop legend Paul McCartney in Cleveland.
The optics were abysmal: hobnobbing with the rich and powerful while the average Americans in flyover country began to clean up their destroyed homes.
8. Bill Clinton came back in the spotlight for the wrong reasons
A long profile and interview of one Clinton rape accuser, Juanita Broaddrick, appeared in BuzzFeed, the same day it came to light that the Clinton campaign scrubbed Hillary’s assurance that sexual assault victims “have the right to be believed.” The BuzzFeed article prompted the top editor of Wonkette to admit Broaddrick’s story is believable.
Several newspapers also picked up on 2002 comments from Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine, where he asserted President Bill Clinton should have resigned over his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Kaine said the scandalous episode was “beneath the dignity of the office.”
On Tuesday, Hillary told supporters in Philadelphia that she doesn’t understand why anyone criticizes her husband.
9. She went off message
While she was off the campaign trail, Clinton’s team wasn’t talking about the issues; instead, they were freaking out about Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon joining the Trump campaign. As reported by Breitbart’s Lee Stranahan, the publication printed “articles blaming the U.S. for 9/11, suggesting women were asking for rape by dressing provocatively, and… according to the Post, ‘in 1999 published a book, edited by her mother, that justifies the barbaric practice of female genital mutilation under Islamic law.'”
The campaign was rattled enough by this story that they put out a denial on Sunday, claiming that “her name was simply listed on the masthead” from 1996 to 2008, and she did not contribute to the editing of the journal.
11. Trump stayed on message
At a Wisconsin rally Tuesday night, Donald Trump laid into Clinton on the issues of crime and poverty in the black community. He defused Clinton’s “dangerous… nuclear codes” line of attack by showing a kinder, gentler Trump in North Carolina. The Clinton campaign’s response did not try to move the rhetorical battlefield back to the winning themes of “dangerous” and “racist.” They merely quibbled that Trump was “offensive” and “divisive.”
The Hill took note that Trump, now under the leadership of Bannon and Kellyanne Conway, was using a teleprompter at his rallies to stay on message — yet declared his delivery was “smoother” than on previous scripted speeches.
12. Donald Trump tightened the polls
The cherry on top. Clinton’s campaign is outspending Trump’s by a huge margin — but her post-convention bump in the polls has faded and now the race is again virtually tied. In the LA Times/USC Dornsife daily tracking poll, Trump has pulled ahead. Zogby and Morning Consult show Clinton’s lead at two and three percentage points, respectively.

The biggest news so far on the Monday after Hillary’s terrible week is that the FBI has obtained over 15,000 emails she did not turn over to the State Department. The Obama Administration is slow-walking their release, but it appears we will soon see just how much yoga and wedding planning she really kept hidden from FOIA requests. Spoiler alert: not a lot.
1. ‘Clinton Cash’ reached critical mass
Peter Schweizer’s book Clinton Cash made allegations of corruption and pay-for-play — that Hillary Clinton leveraged her power as Secretary of State to benefit big donors to the Clinton Foundation — and that scandal has simmered since before the book’s release last May. Early on, several establishment news outlets investigated the narratives of Clinton Cash and confirmed many of its findings. Leaked documents from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) showed that the party deemed the Clinton Foundation a vulnerability for Clinton; the global charity, worth billions, received zero mentions during the week-long Democratic National Convention. This did not fix the Clintons’ optics problem, however. The obvious question, posed by Schweizer, was why it was okay for Secretary of State Hillary to accept foreign donations while it is not okay for President Hillary to do it. The Washington Post crunched the numbers and found that this ban would cut off a majority of the org’s donors. And one of the Foundation’s flagship operations said that it might ignore the directive from the Clintons anyway. On Sunday, the left was in total meltdown. The Huffington Post, which reliably downplays bad news for Hillary, ran the lead headline “JUST SHUT IT DOWN,” linking to a New York Times story focused on the “complications” the Foundation could bring to a Clinton (45) presidency. On Sunday-morning news shows, even the so-called “Clinton News Network” CNN grilled Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook about the Foundation. Sen. Ben Cardin, while defending the Clintons, conceded that “they clearly need to change the way they do business.”
2. John Podesta’s firm is now under FBI investigation
The “pros” in establishment media spent the first half of the week posting hit pieces on Paul Manafort for his lobbying efforts in Ukraine. Left out of their headlines and snarky Tweets: the firm involved in that work was The Podesta Group, founded by Hillary Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta and his brother Tony.
The FBI revealed in a Friday-night news dump that it had opened an investigation into the Podesta Group‘s involvement with former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich. It also would investigate Manafort’s lobbying firm, but the consultant had already tendered his resignation from Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Podesta remains active in Clinton’s campaign.
Podesta is not the only Clinton associate currently targeted by the FBI. Just months ago, the Bureau announced a probe into Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe’s campaign funds — which touches on his time on the board of the Clinton Global Initiative.
3. Her health questions also went mainstream
Dr. Drew Pinsky said Clinton was receiving “1950s level care” on his radio show. A hashtag mocking Clinton’s campaign-trail habit of sitting on stools dominated Twitter. None other than MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked Clinton in person to respond to the memes about her health. Hillary laughed it off, but the optics of her tightly controlled campaign events — and Trump’s taunts about her “stamina” — are clearly in Team Clinton’s head. Campaign manager Robby Mook, unprompted, attacked Trump for not releasing his own health records during a Sunday TV interview.
On Sunday, Trump surrogate Rudy Giulani told TV viewers to search for “Hillary Clinton illness,” which so freaked out a New York Times columnist that he urged Google to hide content questioning Clinton’s health.
4. She has to answer questions about her emails under oath
As reported by Breitbart’s Ken Klukowski: “District Judge Emmett Sullivan granted one of Judicial Watch’s discovery requests to force Clinton to personally answer questions under oath.”
Judicial Watch, for those who don’t know about the organization, will not be asking softball questions — to put it lightly. And there are already rumblings of a perjury case for her sworn testimony before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.
5. She tried to frame an innocent black man Colin Powell
Clinton told the FBI that she sought the advice of Colin Powell before setting up her private, unsecure, homebrew email server — which housed messages containing classified information for her work as Secretary of State. Powell said she was not being honest — that “Her people have been trying to pin it on me.”
Even the Washington Post called this excuse “just plain wrong.” This opens up another can of worms; if she lied to the FBI, that could lead to criminal charges.
6. She was MIA from the campaign trail the whole second half of the week
#WheresHillary became the #1 worldwide trend on Twitter, as users trolled her for going 259 days without a press conference and then going most of the week without any public campaign events. Donald Trump fanned the flames with a one-word answer to the question: “Sleeping.”
7. She was MIA in responding to the biggest U.S. natural disaster since Sandy
Donald Trump and his running mate Mike Pence landed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Friday, talked with victims of the region’s historic floods, and handed out supplies for aid. Local residents, former Senator Mary Landrieu, and Governor John Bel Edwards all praised Trump’s visit for bringing attention to the state during its time of need.
As Trump seized the moment, Clinton was nowhere to be found. After sending some perfunctory sympathies by phone and social media, Hillary spent the weekend in some of the most affluent areas of New England: Martha’s Vineyard for Bill’s 70th birthday, thenProvincetown with Cher for a $1.5 million fundraiser. And on Wednesday night, she met privately with pop legend Paul McCartney in Cleveland.
The optics were abysmal: hobnobbing with the rich and powerful while the average Americans in flyover country began to clean up their destroyed homes.
8. Bill Clinton came back in the spotlight for the wrong reasons
A long profile and interview of one Clinton rape accuser, Juanita Broaddrick, appeared in BuzzFeed, the same day it came to light that the Clinton campaign scrubbed Hillary’s assurance that sexual assault victims “have the right to be believed.” The BuzzFeed article prompted the top editor of Wonkette to admit Broaddrick’s story is believable.
Several newspapers also picked up on 2002 comments from Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine, where he asserted President Bill Clinton should have resigned over his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Kaine said the scandalous episode was “beneath the dignity of the office.”
On Tuesday, Hillary told supporters in Philadelphia that she doesn’t understand why anyone criticizes her husband.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- More than half the people outside the government who met with Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state gave money - either personally or through companies or groups - to the Clinton Foundation. It's an extraordinary proportion indicating her possible ethics challenges if elected president.
At least 85 of 154 people from private interests who met or had phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to her family charity or pledged commitments to its international programs, according to a review of State Department calendars released so far to The Associated Press. Combined, the 85 donors contributed as much as $156 million. At least 40 donated more than $100,000 each, and 20 gave more than $1 million.
Donors who were granted time with Clinton included an internationally known economist who asked for her help as the Bangladesh government pressured him to resign from a nonprofit bank he ran; a Wall Street executive who sought Clinton's help with a visa problem and Estee Lauder executives who were listed as meeting with Clinton while her department worked with the firm's corporate charity to counter gender-based violence in South Africa.

Hillary Responds To Health Allegations; Opens A Jar Of Pickles: "I Feel Like This Is An Alternate Universe"
While Hillary Clinton continued her press conference radio silence, having avoided media Q&A for over 260 days, last night the Democratic candidate did appear on ACB's Jimmy Kimmel live show where she responded to recent reports that her health is deteriorating, saying she feels like she is in an “alternative universe” and laughed off any questions about her health and stamina, arguing that the current speculation "makes no sense."
