CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A Charlotte-area flight attendant and cancer survivor contacted WBTV after she says she was forced to show her prosthetic breast during a pat-down.
Cathy Bossi lives in south Charlotte and has been a flight attendant for the past 32 years, working the past 28 for U.S. Airways.
She reluctantly agreed. As a 3-year breast cancer survivor she says she didn't want the added radiation through her body. But, Bossi says she did agree.
"The T.S.A. Agent told me to put my I.D. on my back," she said. "When I got out of there she said because my I.D. was on my back, I had to go to a personal screening area."

Airports consider congressman's call to ditch TSA
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hkv8DAy2qgKuuVCICy6HASaKlFFQ?docId=c5e727bff09845e393608ea000909811
ATLANTA (AP) — In a climate of Internet campaigns to shun airport pat-downs and veteran pilots suing over their treatment by government screeners, some airports are considering another way to show dissatisfaction: Ditching TSA agents altogether.
Federal law allows airports to opt for screeners from the private sector instead. The push is being led by a powerful Florida congressman who's a longtime critic of the Transportation Security Administration and counts among his campaign contributors some of the companies who might take the TSA's place.
Furor over airline passenger checks has grown as more airports have installed scanners that produce digital images of the body's contours, and the anger intensified when TSA added a more intrusive style of pat-down recently for those who opt out of the full-body scans. Some travelers are using the Internet to organize protests aimed at the busy travel days next week surrounding Thanksgiving.
For Republican Rep. John Mica of Florida, the way to make travelers feel more comfortable would be to kick TSA employees out of their posts at the ends of the snaking security lines. This month, he wrote letters to nation's 100 busiest airports asking that they request private security guards instead.
"I think we could use half the personnel and streamline the system," Mica said Wednesday, calling the TSA a bloated bureaucracy.

I bet someone could make a fortune by desigining and selling lead underware with a big flying middle finger bird design just for the screeners.

If this is to make us accept the id bracelets, it is not going to work. Dang, what was the name of the movie that had the exploding bracelets that were remotely controlled? If you tried to run away, they just blew you to smithereens. Ah, maybe it was in a book that I read. I can't remember because the story was very disturbing...

TSA Pat-Down Leaves Passenger Covered In PEE
A retired special education teacher on his way to a wedding in Orlando, Fla., said he was left humiliated, crying and covered with his own urine after an enhanced pat-down by TSA officers recently at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
“I was absolutely humiliated, I couldn’t even speak,” said Thomas D. “Tom” Sawyer, 61, of Lansing, Mich.
Sawyer is a bladder cancer survivor who now wears a urostomy bag, which collects his urine from a stoma, or opening in his stomach. “I have to wear special clothes and in order to mount the bag I have to seal a wafer to my stomach and then attach the bag. If the seal is broken, urine can leak all over my body and clothes.”
On Nov. 7, Sawyer said he went through the security scanner at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. “Evidently the scanner picked up on my urostomy bag, because I was chosen for a pat-down procedure.”
Due to his medical condition, Sawyer asked to be screened in private. “One officer looked at another, rolled his eyes and said that they really didn’t have any place to take me,” said Sawyer. “After I said again that I’d like privacy, they took me to an office.”
Sawyer wears pants two sizes too large in order to accommodate the medical equipment he wears. He’d taken off his belt to go through the scanner and once in the office with security personnel, his pants fell down around his ankles. “I had to ask twice if it was OK to pull up my shorts,” said Sawyer, “And every time I tried to tell them about my medical condition, they said they didn’t need to know about that.”
Before starting the enhanced pat-down procedure, a security officer did tell him what they were going to do and how they were going to it, but Sawyer said it wasn’t until they asked him to remove his sweatshirt and saw his urostomy bag that they asked any questions about his medical condition.
“One agent watched as the other used his flat hand to go slowly down my chest. I tried to warn him that he would hit the bag and break the seal on my bag, but he ignored me. Sure enough, the seal was broken and urine started dribbling down my shirt and my leg and into my pants.”
The security officer finished the pat-down, tested the gloves for any trace of explosives and then, Sawyer said, “He told me I could go. They never apologized. They never offered to help. They acted like they hadn’t seen what happened. But I know they saw it because I had a wet mark.”
Humiliated, upset and wet, Sawyer said he had to walk through the airport soaked in urine, board his plane and wait until after takeoff before he could clean up.
“I am totally appalled by the fact that agents that are performing these pat-downs have so little concern for people with medical conditions,” said Sawyer.
Vote: What do you think about "opt out" day?
Sawyer completed his trip and had no problems with the security procedures at the Orlando International Airport on his journey back home. He said he plans to file a formal complaint with the TSA.
When he does, said TSA spokesperson Dwayne Baird, “We will review the matter and take appropriate action if necessary.” In the meantime, Baird encourages anyone with a medical condition to read the TSA’s website section on assistive devices and mobility aids.
The website says that travelers with disabilities and medical conditions have “the option of requesting a private screening” and that security officers “will not ask nor require you to remove your prosthetic device, cast, or support brace.”

Sawyer said he's written to his senators, state representatives and the president of the United States. He’s also shared details of the incident online with members of the nonprofit Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network, many of whom have offered support and shared their travel experiences.
“I am a good American and I want safety for all passengers as much as the next person," Sawyer said. "But if this country is going to sacrifice treating people like human beings in the name of safety, then we have already lost the war.”
Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network executive director Claire Saxton said that there are hundreds of thousands of people living with ostomies in the United States. “TSA agents need to be trained to listen when someone tells them have a health issue and trained in knowing what an ostomy is. No one living with an ostomy should be afraid of flying because they’re afraid of being humiliated at the checkpoint.”
Eric Lipp, executive director of Open Doors Association, which works with businesses and the disability community, called what happened to Sawyer “unfortunate.”
“But enhanced pat-downs are not a new issue for people with disabilities who travel," Lipp said. "They've always had trouble getting through the security checkpoint."
Still, Lipp said the TSA knows there’s a problem. “This came up during a recent meeting of the agency’s disability advisory board and I expect to see a procedure coming in place shortly that will directly address the pat-down procedures for people with disabilities.”

Of course this is another us and them operation. Pleny of room for the disenfranchised lowly but now powerful TSA agent to vent . Lots of those employees will only ever see the inside of an airport, not the interior of a plane. I suppose body cavities might be another trip for them...
My experience of petty officials is always one and the same, but now THIS!
These people are pretty borglike anyway, always looking for trouble, it's their well trained mindset . They don't really get upset if they humiliate another, it's almost like a coup.
Once I brought an English friend of my daughter's to Fla right after her mother had died. As she had an English passport she went through immigration seperately from us , ie,with my English partner . She was held up and grilled under the assumption, she was either:
A. An opportunistic sex worker seeking to stay in America
B. My partner was smuggling her into America as her pimp
C. She was being kidnapped by my partner to have under age sex.
See a common thread here?
I was wondering what the hold up was, and when I saw what was going down with the body language of that poor kid I marched over there and planted my face on the borgficial and let him know what scum I thought was going on in his mind and what the situation ACTUALLY was. I saw a mere flicker of human recognition and thought, hmmm traveling may not be for me in the near future. This went down around 10 years ago. It's been pretty bad for a long time though.
Anybody with a hint of a clue is now saying, oh, they are only making it this bad to usher in the chip. One wave of the hand /shot of your iris and your info/ biometrics are taken leaving you free to go. Some are saying if we protest the current situation we will have the latter. I really hope people get a taste for saying NO, it's our only salvation at present in terms of civil liberties. Part of me says bring it on and make it as nasty as possible. The average bear needs to find out he CAN be the average bear, and NOT just the sawn- off couch potato.
I very much hope thay have gone too far this time. I keep waiting for outrage, the useful variety, not the pockets of blind rage we will be seeing . Who knows maybe a little blind rage will be good for the mix as well.
The American psyche seems to have had the rebel spirit leached out through the sofa. Food, water, religion ,education , and entertainment warfare.
People say bringing in officials from other countries will further this inhumane agenda but I see there has been a BIG us and them for a long time and built right in .
The big black woman TSA agent from the projects who frisks the tiny rich ( ish) jewish grandma is really not going to care if she offends let alone pops a body fluids bag .

TSA needs to be eliminated altogether. Period. My friend who recently went through the pat down screening said she would rather be safe. I looked at her and said you bought the lie didn't you? You should be ashamed of yourself for giving up your constitutional rights.
She looked down. As she was the one who got her friends to vote for Obama I also informed her that I have it on video tape where he stated he was not born in Hawaii but Kenya. She asked how far this info has been spread. I replied it is getting around. Everyone here (who is blind) loved that Obama was supposedly from Hawaii which is why he is so popular here. But I also read where he said pat downs were necessary. Here is another corporate stooge selling out the American people and shredding the American Constition along with the Bill of Rights. My daughter and I got into it last night over this and then I asked her point blank... So, how would you like someone (a stranger) touching your boobs and putting their hand in your crouch? Silence. Then she wanted to know if it would be a man or woman. I said woman. Next she wanted to know it was an old woman or young woman... Then she informed me I was the most horrible mother EVER! Hah! I informed her I intend to fight for our Constitution and our Bill of Rights.

just got off the line with my sister in america, she knows LOTS of people and few are reacting to much of anything, some are choosing not to fly for a variety of reasons, mostly financial. Most are just grateful to still own their house . Not good. The things that outrage me are of little consequence to the slumbering masses it seems. I am honestly glad not to be in america these days, at least europe is rumbling with discontent, not putting on a Texan grin when we KNOW its whacked.

This story was intense:
tsa agents took my son
tsa agents took my son
As I sit and write this post, 24 hours after this event took place, my hands still shake… with rage and with terror.
I woke up this morning to my husband’s alarm clock, sat straight up in bed and thought “Where’s Jackson?” with fear paralyzing me.
My worst nightmare took place yesterday. Worse than events that have taken place and that I have survived in my short 28 years of living. Worse than my wildest of dreams could conjure.
My son was taken from me.
Taken.
My son was taken from me by the TSA agents at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport yesterday.
He was taken away from me and OUT OF MY SIGHT because his pacifier clip went off when I carried him through the metal detector.
According to the Transportation Security Administration website, “We will not ask you to do anything that will separate you from your child or children.”
Bullshit TSA.
You took my son. MY SON.
Here’s what took place… minute by terrifying minute…

Obama Tells Americans: Get in Line and Get Your TSA Gropings
Listen carefully at 2:02. "These procedures that they have been putting in place, right now, are the only ones they feel are affective."
Gee do they have something planned to replace this procedure? Sure sounds like setting up for RFID implants to me.

"Re: Christmas day bombing".
What an absolute lie, this so called "terrorist" was escorted on to the plane by a federal agent, without a passport and without going through the security gates. He didn't even go through a metal detector! He was escorted AROUND the security checkpoint! Obama AND the FBI KNOW THIS and it was exposed by the passengers on the flight as they SAW THE WHOLE THING HAPPEN! He is lying through his teeth.

The TSA Naked Body Scanner Obama Connection Posted on Friday 19 November 2010
It isn’t just Michael Chertoff and George Soros who used their influence to obtain government contracts for the TSA Naked body scanners…
Deepak Chopra, Chairman and CEO of OSI Systems, makers of the Rapiscan TSA Naked body scanner, was selected to accompany US President, Barack Obama, to Mumbai and attended the US India Business Entrepreneurship meeting.
He also fully supported Obama during his presidential bid.
Sickening.

Love AlwaysFaced with the prospect of large numbers of people refusing the invasive “screening” measures they’ve implemented this holiday season, the TSA is hoping to fight back with threats of fine and arrest.
“Once a person submits to the screening process, they can not just decide to leave” warned Sari Koshetz, a TSA spokesperson. TSA officials say that anyone refusing both the “full body scanners” and the “enhanced pat down” procedures will be taken into custody.
Once there the detainees will not only be barred from flying, but will be held indefinitely as suspected terrorists, face fines of up to $11,000 and may also be turned over to local police. One sheriff’s office said they were already preparing to handle a large number of detainees and plan to treat them as terror suspects, held until they are convinced they don’t pose a terror threat.
The TSA genital “patdowns” have led to threats from some local prosecutors to charge them with sexual assault, but the TSA has shrugged off public outcry over the measures and seems more intent than ever on cowing the public into submission.

As TSA's Administrative authority to stop, interrogate and detain American travelers extends to vehicles OUTSIDE U.S. airports, what can we expect America to "evolve" into next?
How many U.S. laws is TSA exempt from? How about we start with The Privacy Act of 1974?
++++
For those who choose further study:
Authority: 49 U.S.C. 114(l)(1), 40113, 5 U.S.C. 552a(j) and (k).
Source: 69 FR 35537, June 25, 2004, unless otherwise noted.
§ 1507.1 Scope.
This part implements provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 (the Act) that permit TSA to exempt any system of records within the agency from certain requirements of the Act. The procedures governing access to, and correction of, records in a TSA system of records are set forth in 6 CFR part 5, subpart B.

TSA Documentation Position (Anchorage, AK)
http://nikiraapana.blogspot.com/2010/11/tsa-documentation-position-anchorage-ak.html
Talked to my friend yesterday up in Fairbanks and asked her if they have naked scanners installed at the airport yet. She said no but there's been lots of dogs there lately. When I told her they have naked scanners in some airports now she said, like so many of us do, that's disgusting. Funny how the job listings is often the best place to see what's coming locally:
We are looking for a Documentation Specialist to work on a project for the TSA in the Anchorage, AK area.
Individual will perform documentation tasks during a TSA Image Scanning Equipment installation project.
