ALERT – Prepare for WINTER BLACKOUTS -
Nine things or more to remember
1. warm beverages
2. warm food (wood stove works great or propane, butane stove and battery powered carbon monoxide meter & fire extinguisher)
3. can food, use up fridge food first
4. consider a generator (gas/propane - solar generator)
5. layer clothing, inner layer marino wool (NOT COTTON), wear a hat/cap, gloves, fleece lined clothing
6. get a heat source, buddy heater, Coleman tent on bed to keep heat in. Down comforters.
7. Light (solar, battery lantern, solar lantern, kerosene or mineeral oil, head lamps, rechargeable squeeze, crank flashlight
8. Communication, crank radio. solar, listening to news and weather, walkie talkie, ham radio
9. Entertainment (cards, art supplies, games)
10. take care of weather, snow shovels.. tarps, snow blower, ponchos, rain gear, outdoor winter gear
