These are almost paintings. So inspiring   
I don't think this artist is the one that took that picture that became my avatar.
I unfortunately don't remember who the author is.
A very talented person indeed.

These are a couple of pictures of copies on paper of superb batik textile works,
which I found in the Dover Youth Hostel, on one of my first visits to the UK

Sakura Photographer

The Sayaka Maruyama Sakura series is inspired by a mixture of classical Japanese elements and Surrealist finishes. Present in the series is a topless woman, manipulated here by way of Maruyama's violet and red lighting schemes.

Found within Sakura are an assortment of ornate bouquets. The flowers jut out in various directions, standing out even more than they would ordinarily by way of the dark backdrops. These and the color-based features stem from Maruyama's will to mix both Eastern and Western motifs as she describes her work as a "contradictory contemporary understandings of Japanese notions of beauty, from both Western and Eastern perspectives." The concept of aging is also present as the muted tones are reminiscent of antique artwork.

Tsuneaki Hiramatsu

Japanese photographer Tsuneaki Hiramatsu captures these incredible long exposure photos of fireflies in flight. They're found in the forests outside Niimi, in Japan's Okayama prefecture (we're pretty sure Hogwarts is around there somewhere). Toshiko Horiuchi-MacAdam is an incredible crochet artist from Japan. She makes gigantic crochet installations that act as both art and playgrounds. Toshiko’s installation art apparently once mistaken by children for a playground, suddenly found new life and she began working on many playgrounds in Japan.

Delicate Paper Sculptures Suspended in Mid-Air by Peter Gentenaar

From limitations come creativity. It’s an age-old adage that’s been repeated in almost every industry. And it rings true for the Netherland-based artist Peter Gentenaar, whose billowing paper sculptures were born out of what he couldn’t do with.
These giant paper sculptures reminiscent of biological forms are suspended in cathedrals.
