This is happening because of fear. Bear with me on this one. First of all, large grocery chains fear losing sales if they don't stock enough food. So they stock too much. Most food in corporate grocery stores now has an "end date" after which the food must be destroyed. The stores fear being sued for selling spoiled food. So, they throw it away. In Atlanta, there were a lot of folks who tried to get the stores to donate food that was past the "sell by" date. The food banks and homeless shelters always have way more demand than resources. However, fear steps in again. The food banks were told that the stores Fear giving away food, because if someone got sick, they could be sued. Yeah, lawyers. Now, there is an underground system whereby the workers at the stores give a tweet to the homeless representatives when they are about to fill the dumpsters. Too bad it has to be so clandestine and dirty feeling just to share the bounty. Until we change the laws, this will continue. The corporations would rather cover their hides than share what they have with the really, really hungry people. Will the next generation change this attitude? I think yes.

Freedom whoah, I gotta get down there!
Not so sure they throw out as much here in Blighty though...

I expect they will make dumpster diving illegal soon if it isn't already , or spray it with something in case it's a health hazard. For our own good.
Wish we had a Trader Joe's here. Crying or Very sad
but yes, it is ridiculous. It's interesting to see how acceptable it is amongst those in the know.

Get yourself a food dehydrator and a vacuum sealer with loads of bags - and you're getting prepared too.

No such luck though here in Austria.
Supermarkets run tight ships and little gets thrown out.

Food prices here can be considered hair rasingly expensive. The police/black-boots would be on you in minutes if you tried something like that. They love nothing more than to control you. This, from the country that brought the world Adolf Hitler. I often wonder if the control system remains to this day.

    Way to go Dumpster Divers.

As controlled as the US is becoming it still has a lot more freedom then other places. I think those choosing to leave the US are also looking for more freedom and to live their lives without so much external controls.

    It's sad.

I know a way where there is enough food for everyone and everyone can eat more nutritious food then what can be found in the market. Aquaponics can be done in a window, on a balcony, on a flat roof, in a back yard, on a porch... anywhere. No dirt is needed and the nutrition for the plants come from fish poop. When the fish get too big eat them too.

In a highly technological and 'civilized' world - why do people go hungry? On the other hand - why do so many able-bodied and mentally-alert people get the equivalent of 'food-stamps' and buy all manner of expensive and unhealthy food items? Why should an endangered middle-class pay people for not working? Should all public assistance be in the form of loans instead of hand-outs? Should extreme wealth be tolerated? Should it be illegal to be a billionaire? Should one big, elevated, stratified middle-class be the economic goal - without extreme wealth and poverty (but without socialism)? Would Responsible Free Enterpise accomplish this? Did I bite off more than I could chew? rabbit Try to digest all of those questions!

oxy, according to a number of reports from "contactees", I think earth is the only planet that uses money. I'm kind of hoping that after the galactic wave moves through that money will become obsolete.

Oxy, my answers: 1. Corporatism and lack of family farming. 2. Unhealthy foods purchased with food stamps are due to lack of education, and lack of will to do the work to cook fresh foods. 3. Because the majority of welfare recipients are white newly single mothers with no quick ability to gain a job that pays enough for child care, immediately. Eventually, most single mothers get off welfare. 4. Public assistance as loans would be great: if there was ability to pay, people should pay it back. Thing is, who decides?
    5. Extreme wealth should be tolerated if the wealth is shared. Peer pressure doesn't always work, but it mostly does work among the cash rich. 6. No, it shouldn't be illegal to be a billionaire. That's where seed money comes in for new projects. Sometimes it's good to have capital as long as it is used for the best purposes. 7. One big middle class without socialism would be fine, except, where will the seed money come from for super big projects? 8. Responsible Free Enterprise most def. could accomplish this. It depends on the maturity level of participants. 9. No, you did not bite off more than you, or we, can chew.

We're with ya...Nine questions is a lot, but we can handle it. Now, that's just my opinion. My question is: how many people will answer all nine questions? Ha ha. Linda p.s. Don't mind me, I can type really really fast so answering is easier for me than for some people.

Thank-you Carol and Linda. Forgive me. The following rant may be excessively shrill. I just wanted to express some ideas - which don't necessarily follow from comments on this thread.

So...are the Rothschilds, the Rockefellers, the Royal Family, and the Vatican the biggest seed-money rock stars on the planet - who are doing the most to make the world a better place? Trickle down theory voodoo economics? Where are the Billionaire Ghandi's? Jesus was pretty tough on rich people. Are billionaires the most socially responsible people on the planet? Did they gain their money through socially responsible activities? Can wealth become anticompetitive at some point? Should those with the most money have the greatest political clout? Should those with the gold - RULE? One of the greatest tragedies of history is the non compassionate use of accumulated wealth. I know that a lot of contactees and gurus are opposed to money - but I disagree. Money and private property are expressions of freedom. The problem with money is the irresponsible pursuit and use of money. Perhaps the billionaires should be placed under the scanning electron microscope to look for illegality and irresponsibility. Blood Money, Drug Money, and Destructive Money of All Kinds - should be repaid to society - with interest and penalties. I'm also not a big fan of ET Mentoring. Have the Gods, Goddesses, Angels, Archangels, ET's, and Ascended Masters been promoting Responsibility, Freedom, and Human Sovereignty (other than the Andromedans)? Boy - I sure got a lot out of my system - and I didn't even feel hostile. It must've been something I ate - or maybe the devil made me do it.

Having said all of the above - I'm getting tired of being an internet warrior. It seems to be a monumental waste of time. Remember what Jesus said about pearls and such? Money Talks and BS Walks. The Bottom Line is the Bottom Line. Winning Isn't Everything. It's the Only Thing. Perhaps the secret is to be a Humanitarian on the Surface - and a Shrewd and Ruthless SOB Below the Radar. Could the Worship of Fame, Fortune, and Power - rather than the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - help to explain why the Corrupt Rule the Stupid? Is Greed Good? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7upG01-XWbY

I need to go for a long walk with my dog - and then perhaps I need to create a ten-year business plan. Who knows - in ten years I might have to change my tune and eat my words...

OK...I'm back from my walk...and I decided that the Corrupt Will Always Rule the Stupid - because both the Corrupt and the Stupid are happy with the arrangement - despite all outward appearances. Additionally - Both the Corrupt and the Stupid are Threatened by Non-Corrupt Highly Intelligent People - and will Fight Them Vigorously. Think about THAT... Perhaps this is why no one has REALLY followed the Red Letter Teachings of Jesus for 2,000 years - and why they probably never will...

I'm on the verge of pusuing a business plan which is neither corrupt or stupid - and which will be executed in a manner which threatens neither the corrupt or the stupid. I may simply live a life of quiet decadence...and leave the corrupt and the stupid to their own devices...

    synchronistic post, for me ...
i have spent time thinking about and visualizing
feeding hungry people - i understand what the above
folks are saying, re: grocery stores ... i worked
in the restaurant biz and the waste was two-fold
    (1) the amount of food scraped off plates and thrown
away (2) the amount tossed from kitchen for various
reasons ... i remember the haight street diggers
feeding 100's of people in the panhandle area of san
francisco in 1969 ... i remember fancy restaurants
in the french quarter of new orleans with an access
door in the back, to the kitchen, where we sat at a
long counter and ate red beans and rice for a dollar ...
and then i ran across a vid today about breaking the law
to feed people, a form of civil disobedience which i
can really get behind ... there has got to be a way
to dispose of good things in a way that makes sense ...
dumpster diving is an art, you can search youtube for
    vids going back years

rather than start a new thread, let me extend the debate by offering this:

    http://theintelhub.com/2010/09/14/georgia-man-fined-5000-for-growing-vegetables/

A Georgia resident who has been an organic farmer for years is now facing $5000 dollars in fines for growing too many vegetables on his OWN land.

re ODMs point about internet warrior, I quite agree, we are preaching to the choir often,, how many more posts do the already awakened need?

I was 5 years off line and out of all media, and Im heading back there in 6 weeks,, have my heirloom organic seeds already Very Happy and a backpack, water filter and essentials...

time to move into the synchronicitous flow once again, and Im not trying to make a point or polish my halo, but we all can teach best by example... growing and eating healthy food is a good start, if allowed to !! - back to the start of this post

When Avalon 1 was closed to posting - I decided not to participate in any other forum sites (including Avalon 2) - so I just posted on YouTube. I really enjoyed posting on a wide variety of videos - not just on the esoteric or controversial ones. Now that I'm back on a forum site - I see the strengths and weaknesses of such an approach. There is a HUGE amount of information and insight on Avalon 1 & 2, and Mists of Avalon - but the participants can get into a rut - and can even become desensitized and irritable. I just decided not to post more threads, or add to the ones I have already posted. Preaching to the choir is a major reason for this. I'll probably keep looking at Avalon and Mists of Avalon - and I may post on someone elses thread once in a while - but I'm going to spend a lot more time on business and on getting out in nature. Growing food, buying organic food, being vegetarian, eating raw food, exercising in nature, seeing a naturopathic physician, and listening to inspiring music - are excellent ways to cultivate physical, mental, and spiritual health. Too much esoteric, conspiracy, religious, and political info-warring (on the internet or otherwise) is probably a recipe for disaster. Nuff said. Now I'm going for another walk with my dog. Namaste.

I agree. The recipe you propose is advice we could all use. Growing your own food is very rewarding. Just think: all we have to do is nurture some seeds, and it give us our life and our health. I agree Linda. Technology will make most of our jobs obsolete. Then what will we do? Has technology made us happier and more secure? I think not. Once you look past the fancy gadgets - there is a wasteland of horrifying technology. There must be a landfill for this destructive technology somewhere in the universe. Rewatch the movie 'Contact' and notice the arguments presented regarding science, technology, and God. (Also notice 1. Mr. Hadden 2. Rachel [the black White House lady in charge] 3. The Young Theologian. Are they representative of the 3 factions [Teutonic Zionist, Zionist, and Christ-like] I keep hinting at?) I'm a huge fan of pure science - but 90% of the applied science, technology, and industrialization sucks - big time. I'd almost like to live in a monastery located in natural surroundings (growing our own food) - with structure and spiritual discipline - as long as I could have a tracker-action pipe-organ and a computer with fast internet - and a completely open discussion policy as long as respect for others was held in the highest esteem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enWiFcsBqIE I watch or listen to this one a couple of times a week. Try reading the Gospels, the Federalist Papers, and the Anti-Federalist Papers while listening to this (or another Latin Mass) on an ongoing basis. Seriously. Sorry for the off-topic comments. I'm done.
