"He was 8 months in his mother's womb, he was a few weeks away from meeting her. The demand for meat products didn't allow that to happen.

His mother was hanged by one leg, they slit her throat and her uterus was thrown into a waste bin. Her baby, outside the warmth of her womb, died slowly.

This is the fate of countless of other babies like him, that were robbed of a chance at life so that someone, somewhere, could drink the milk that was meant for them or could taste the flesh of their mothers. It is time to stop the demand for these cruel products. It is not about your right to choose a diet, it is about their right to live free of exploitation and unnecessary murder".

MaxFactor is one of the many companies that run vivisection labs for their products. The following is one of their protocols..
Certain products must go a skin toxicity test. Some animals like cats are used to test these ingredients making them undergo thru severely painful and crippling experiments. These tests must be done directly on the skin, so it is essential to expose the skin thoroughly by ...pulling their hair with tape. The animal is previously immobilized to prevent scratching and licking on the wound. The irritant substances are then applied to the freshly exposed skin and the area is then covered with adhesive plaster. Days later, the researchers observe the reaction of the irritant. This test continuously repeated on the same body area for a whole year.
Boycott MaxFactor & raise awareness by sharing this picture with others...only buy products not tested on animals!

Dog Abuses: Why So Many in Korea?

Dog abuse is commonplace in Korea. Have you ever wondered why? Do Koreans enjoy abusing dogs? Some may do. But it is hard to believe Korea, the 13th largest economic power of the world, is enjoying animal abuse. Considering its economic influence, it is no big deal Korea has produced the new UN Secretary General.

Then, how come Koreans are making so many terrible abuses to dogs? Precisely speaking, Koreans do not think of their cruel acts as abuse. Dogs are not viewed as living creatures in Korea, but they are just a food ingredient even while alive. The above pictures show Koreans' typical idea about dogs. Witnesses say the poor animal was left in the harsh winter cold at the back of a dog butcher's truck for over 5 hours, with its legs tied up on its back with steel wire. It is a very effective way of suppressing the movement of dogs. Let alone resisting, they cannot move, bark or howl at all. Nor can they even moan. It could be a stray dog or one raised on a dog farm. Or the butcher might have stolen it. Beside the truck were lying various kinds of dog slaughtering equipment.

The witnesses tried contacting a stray animals shelter as well as the police. But nobody cared, and they even made a mockery of the witnesses. The above pictures were posted in Korea's leading portal sites, and many responded like: "So what? They are just a food."

Is there any possibility the horrible conditions will change, which dogs are facing? Probably not in Korea, where even the current president enjoys eating dogs despite the laws banning dog meat consumption. He was one of the lawmakers drafting the bill to legalize dog meat consumption. Stories say he wanted to hold a feast at a dog meat restaurant to celebrate his winning presidential election. Fortunately, it was cancelled at the last minute.

This adorable baby fox will spend her whole life in a cage until the day she is killed - either through anal/vaginal electrocution, drowning, or being skinned alive - so that some jerk can wear her fur. Do NOT buy fur and please help take a stand against the fur industry! Read this awesome article about my friends who are asking Intermix to stop killing animals http://news.change.org/stories/two-friends-lead-intermix-fur-free-campaign and see what you can do to help.

    Gulf Marine Mammals Still Suffering
Blog - BPs Oil Drilling Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico
    Friday, 23 March 2012

Dead bottlenose dolphin from GRN trip to coastal Louisiana, May 17, 2011. (cc) GRN
The BP oil spill appears to have profoundly impacted the 28 species of dolphins, whales and porpoises that inhabit the Gulf of Mexico. Since April 30, 2010, ten days after the disaster at the Macondo rig, 558 of these mammals have been found stranded along the Gulf coast, almost all of them dead. In 2011, strandings quintupled the annual average from 2002 to 2009.
The spill has impacted the health of bottlenose dolphins. A recent study by NOAA examined 32 dolphins in Barataria Bay and found them to be in incredibly poor health. They were underweight and anemic, had low blood sugar and possessed signs of liver and lung disease.
The Gulf’s endangered population of approximately 1700 sperm whales is in particular danger. Because of their low birth rates, scientists estimate that the long-term survival of this population would be in serious jeopardy if as few as three whales were killed by human-induced causes. The spill exposes sperm whales to the risk of poisoning and drowning. The harmful effects on whales’ prey also impair the whales’ ability to feed. Three sperm whales have been found dead since February 1, 2010.

Sperm whale in the Gulf. Three have been found dead since the BP disaster, threatening the recovery of this endangered species. August 19, 2011. Photo (cc) GRN.
The most disturbing fact of all is that the number of mammals found stranded likely dwarfs the true number killed or otherwise harmed by the spill. One study finds that true number of dolphins and whales killed may be as high as 50 times the amount of carcasses found. The study estimates different multipliers for different species. The number of sperm whales killed may be almost thirty times the number of carcasses recovered. Hundreds of dead marine mammals quickly becomes thousands of animals killed by BP.

Very young or even fetal Karakul lambs are prized for pelts.

Each year, approximately 4,000,000 baby Karakul lambs are killed as a fetus or within a day or two of their birth to make Persian lamb fur coats and trim.

As if peddling the skin and fur of a tortured, electrocuted adult animal weren't bad enough, some heartless designers take fashion cruelty to a whole new level with a particularly grisly "killer" look: astrakhan, also known as "broadtail" or "Persian wool" - the fur of newborn and fetal karakul lambs who are bred by the thousands in Central Asia for the bloody fur trade.

Because their unique, highly prized curly fur begins to unwind and straighten within three days of birth, many karakul lambs are slaughtered when they are only 1 or 2 days old.

The rest don't even make it that far. In order to get a karakul fetus's hide - called "broadtail" in the industry and valued for its exceptional smoothness - the mother's throat is slit and her stomach slashed open to remove the developing lamb.

A mother typically gives birth to three lambs before being slaughtered along with her fourth fetus, about 15 to 30 days before it is due to be born.

As many as 4 million karakul lambs are slaughtered for their fur every year.

Those tacky jackets made in China with "fake " or "artificial" fur trimming come from dogs skinned alive like the one in the photo. Those bastards shove a thick wood stick down the dog throat so he can't bite. Sometime they pull their teeth or break them with a hammer. Dogs are left with no food for days and are dipped in boiling water so the skin can be pull easier. the feet are chopped off. The dogs are hung from hooks then the process of skinning them start. Can you even imagine the pain. How can anybody wear something that caused so much pain to a living being that would never do something like that to us.

Mother bear kills cub and then itself

The Chinese media has reported on an extraordinary account of a mother bear saving her cub from a life of torture by strangling it and then killing itself.

The bears were kept in a farm located in a remote area in the North-West of China. The bears on the farm had their gall bladders milked daily for 'bear bile,' which is used as a remedy in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

It was reported that the bears are kept in tiny cages known as 'crush cages', as the bears have no room to manoeuvre and are literally crushed.

The bile is harvested by making a permanent hole or fistula in the bears' abdomen and gall bladder.

As the hole is never closed, the animals are suspect to various infections and diseases including tumours, cancers and death from peritonitis.

What Happens To Unwanted Dogs & Cats

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03jOl1xG084

Ever wonder what happens to the dogs and cats that dont get adopted at shelters? Ever wonder what happens to the squirrels, rats, etc. that are exterminated from homes and other properties because they are a "nuisance"? The fatty acids and tallow in your makeup, barsoap and even petfood doesnt just come from livestock in the slaughterhouses-it comes from the billions of unwanted animals in the US. Dead dogs, cats, and rodents are boiled down (rendered) into a thick soup which is then used in some makeup and petfood and in most barsoap. If you ever see the term "rendered meat" as one of your petfood ingredients, it's most likely the boiled down flea collars, ID tags, euthanization drugs and carcasses of cats and dogs who didnt get adopted at animal shelters.
six or seven million dogs and cats that are killed in animal shelters every year. The city of Los Angeles alone, for example, sends some two hundred tons of euthanized cats and dogs to a rendering plant every month. Added to the blend are the euthanized catch of animal control agencies, and road kill. (Road kill is not collected daily, and in the summer, the better road kill collection crews can generally smell it before they can see it.) When this gruesome mix is ground and steam-cooked, the lighter, fatty material floating to the top gets refined for use in such products as cosmetics, lubricants, soaps, candles, and waxes. The heavier protein material is dried and pulverized into a brown powder-about a quarter of which consists of fecal material. The powder is used as an additive to almost all pet food as well as to livestock feed.

    http://www.peopleforglobaljustice.com/atrocities.html

The pictures need no further explanation as to what the word "atrocity" means. What needs to be said is that we live in a world shared by people who see no problem with causing harm, suffering and death to anything that lives and grows on this Planet.

Why such people exist cannot be answered, but the common acceptance that "there must be good and bad to keep things in balance" is flawed, conditioned thinking.

So, animals kill, even some plants are carnivorous, even Nature has

its catastrophic moments, causing havoc and destruction - to our human way of thinking perhaps, as in most of us dwells that something which says that "we are superior". It so happens that only swords, guns and intimidation based on fear makes us, or many of us, superior. Walk into the wild one day, on your own, without a gun, and see how long that superiority complex lasts. After that, you'll know that atrocities only exist in the conditioned conduct of the human race.

Widening Our Circle of Compassion - Through the Eyes of Photographer Jo-Anne McArthur

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orGQaEy_1kE

Through a photojournalist's lens we witness our uses, abuses, and sharing of spaces with animals around the globe. For over ten years Jo-Anne McArthur has collected both heart-warming and heart-wrenching stories about our relationships with non-human animals. Her goal is to educate and change the hearts and minds of people about how we treat animals. Her photographs are at once beautiful and shocking and serve as a call to action for all humans to widen our circle of compassion.

    Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act

The Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA) is a United States federal law (Pub.L. 109-374; 18 U.S.C. § 43) that prohibits any person from engaging in certain conduct "for the purpose of damaging or interfering with the operations of an animal enterprise."[1] The statute covers any act that either "damages or causes the loss of any real or personal property" or "places a person in reasonable fear" of injury. The law contains a savings clause that indicates it should not be construed to "prohibit any expressive conduct (including peaceful picketing or other peaceful demonstration) protected from legal prohibition by the First Amendment to the Constitution." [1] However, by its own terms, the statute criminalizes acts such as "intimidation." And prosecutions under AETA require using evidence of otherwise lawful free speech in order to demonstrate a "course of conduct" as proof of purpose or possible conspiracy.[2]

The law amends the Animal Enterprise Protection Act of 1992 (Pub.L. 102-346) and gives the U.S. Department of Justice greater authority to target animal rights activists. The AETA does so by broadening the definition of "animal enterprise" to include academic and commercial enterprises that use or sell animals or animal products. It also increases the existing penalties, includes penalties based on the amount of economic damage caused, and allows animal enterprises to seek restitution.

The law was originally introduced in the 109th Congress by Thomas Petri (R-WI) and Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and James Inhofe (R-OK). The final version of the bill, S. 3880.,[3] was passed in the United States Senate on September 29, 2006, by unanimous consent, a Senate procedure that is used to expedite the passage of non-controversial bills without an actual vote. On November 13, 2006, the House passed the bill under suspension of the rules, a procedure generally used to quickly pass non-controversial bills without voting. The lone dissenting statement was made by Representative Dennis Kucinich, who said that the bill was "written in such a way as to have a chilling effect on the exercise of the constitutional rights of protest."[4] However, Rep. Kucinich immediately left the floor in protest after his statement rather than formally objecting to the bill under House legislative procedural rules, thereby allowing the bill to pass. The bill was signed by President George W. Bush on November 27, 2006. Earlier versions of the bill were known as S. 1926 and H.R. 4239.[5] The bill is described by the author as being intended to "provide the Department of Justice the necessary authority to apprehend, prosecute, and convict individuals committing animal enterprise terror."[3]

    Reaction

The Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act was overwhelmingly embraced by the pharmaceutical industry. The National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR) lauded the passage of the bill stating, "Today, the AETA provides greater protection for the biomedical research community and their families against intimidation and harassment, and addresses for the first time in federal law, campaigns of secondary and tertiary targeting that cause economic damage to research enterprises."[6]

Animal welfare and civil liberties groups, however, largely opposed the passage of the legislation. Camille Hankins, a representative of Win Animal Rights, asserted that the legislation infringed upon the First Amendment rights of free speech and assembly: "It's overly broad, overly vague and restricts freedom of speech and freedom of assembly."[7] She added: "I think this legislation was bought and paid for, by the pharmaceutical industry primarily." However, Jerry Vlasak, spokesman for the North American Animal Liberation Press Office, suggested the bill would have little impact on the movement because underground activists "don't really care about those laws" and law enforcement agencies had already "gone after" effective above-ground activists. The American Kennel Club, a dog breeding organization, endorsed the bill, because it contains "explicit language" which protects the right of protesters to engage in "peaceful picketing or other peaceful demonstration."[8]

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) did not oppose the bill, but expressed concerns that "minor changes [were] necessary to make the bill less likely to chill or threaten freedom of speech."[9] The ACLU requested that the bill be amended to define what was meant by "real or personal property," to narrow the definition of "animal enterprise," and to substantially reduce penalties for conspiracy convictions under the statute. The particular changes proposed by the ACLU are not present in the final version of the AETA.
    Criminal prosecutions

The bill was passed in response to the then-ongoing prosecution of members of Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC), an activist group that worked to close animal testing laboratories. Six members of the group were charged and put on trial for a "multi-faceted" and decentralized grassroots activist campaign against Huntingdon Life Sciences. While there was no proof that the actual defendants committed or had any knowledge of the overwhelming majority of the illegal acts at issue, they were convicted under the AETA’s conspiracy provisions. On appeal, the Third Circuit upheld the convictions because the defendants’ membership in the group, participation in political protests, as well as unrelated speeches, interviews, publications, and internet postings constituted "sufficient circumstantial evidence" for a jury to infer a conspiracy.[10] One defendant was convicted despite doing nothing more than providing "technical assistance" for the group’s website because the website was then used by others to organize unlawful acts. At least one of the defendants was placed in an exceptionally restrictive Communication Management Unit, reserved for inmates the government considers terrorist threats.[11]

In 2009, four individuals were indicted under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act for peacefully protesting on public property outside the homes of professors conducting research involving animal testing. While the charges were eventually dismissed, the defendants were placed under house arrest for almost a year.[12]
