Confiscate Your Guns? How About Confiscating Your Food?

December 10, 2011 - As much as many folks understand the real aim of the government's war on guns, less is known about the government's war on preparedness. Survivalists, off-the-grid folks, gun "nuts", and now, preppers who are determined to stay self-sufficient (and alive and crime-free) in times of hardship are being openly targeted by the feds.http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/100421.html
...federal agents recently visited a Later Day Saints (Mormon) Church food storage cannery in Tennessee, demanding customer lists, wanting to know the identity of Americans who are purchasing food storage from the Mormons.
Federal agents asked for the identities of those individuals who were purchasing food in bulk, however, no information was supplied to them. The Mormons are staunch advocates of preparedness, including food preservation and long-term storage. I know of a gentleman who lives out west and buys canned meats from the Mormons. (He also does his own ammunition reloading and owns gold, making him a first-tier "threat.")
In fact, the preppers and bulk food buyers are the same type of people who purchase food from local farmers, private food co-ops, and farmers markets. They are also the type of people who don't trust the government, don't buy into the politicized federal dietary guidelines, and adhere to a personally sustainable and independent lifestyle. And often, these are the same folks who buy silver and gold, stock guns and ammo, and deny government interference in their daily lives. In other words, people known as enemies of the state.
Interestingly, at the same time, folks in Tennessee are being targeted for federally-designed, state-run efforts to go door-to-door demanding to know the level of "preparedness" of residents. This is from the article:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in their “Are You Ready?” guide to “In Depth Citizen Preparedness” recommends that citizens store emergency supplies, including bulk food, in the event of a natural disaster or man-made event (the new politically correct term applied to a terrorist attack). The FEMA guidance is spot-on as it allows individuals and families to be self-sufficient during an emergency situation.
...And here in Tennessee, we just learned that Nashville Metro Public Health and the Tennessee Department of Health are conducting “door-to-door assessment of disaster preparedness … using a tool designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to go door to door and check to see how disaster ready you are. .. in 30 neighborhoods in Davidson County [TN] that have been randomly selected to be the target of a door to door assessment.” I have confirmed that that is a state run effort.
A story on NewsChannel5.com states, "The Metro Public Health and the Tennessee Department of Health will be using a tool designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to go door to door and check to see how disaster ready you are." Questions you are expected to answer are, "What is your primary way of getting information during a disaster or emergency?" and "What special assistance might you need from emergency responders during an emergency?"
Of course, this effort has nothing at all to do with assisting individuals or educating folks in disaster preparedness. It is a totalitarian operation to discover and track those individuals who are deemed to be "preppers" so that the feds can ramp up their propaganda on "homegrown terrorists." The feds want this kind of information so that when the S*** (Stuff) Hits The Fan they (and local military-police raid parties) will know where to go to begin their confiscation of goods and guns so they can strike at the roots of the resistance.
