This is NOT my story ...
however, this is an interesting article
    ~ Susan

How to Use Your Story to Find Your Life Purpose

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
    ~ Maya Angelou

    "Everyone has a story.
Some stories are happier than others.
    Some are tragic.
But below the surface of our stories,
each of us have wounds that need to be healed.
My story is a mixture of happy and tragic.

I grew up poor with a dad who was an alcoholic.
He loved me deep down, wasn’t a mean drunk,
but growing up with an emotionally unavailable father caused some deep wounds.

I quit high school at 15 years old and managed to wiggle my way
as a dancer in a strip club.

This is something no 15-year-old should ever have see or do,
but I was wounded and I wanted money, attention, and love.

It’s taken me 33 years to realize this wasn’t my fault.

I was doing the best I could with that I knew.

I loved to eat. I loved to cook.
Food was my comfort from early on and being in the kitchen
felt as a natural as breathing.

I had a deep need to find the sense of belonging I didn’t have at home,
at school, or in my town, so I started moving around.

I moved to Toronto and Montreal and collected people wherever I went.

These people truly saw, heard, and loved me,
and this became a major part of the path to healing.

I miraculously enrolled in cooking school.

My life’s dream was to move to NYC and making my dream happen was #1,
even though I didn’t know how this was going to happen.
Because of cooking school, I was able to offer free cooking
to someone who had a room for rent in their home,
and I moved to NYC from Toronto with $700.

Stripping taught me how to work for myself.

I created a job around my passion of cooking
and supported myself doing what I Iove.

In 2008, I moved to San Francisco to continue the quest of finding out
where I truly belonged, and finally found my place
amongst the most amazing city in the world.

It’s not until this mission was fulfilled that

I was able to begin climbing the ladder of self-actualization.

Here are five ways to beat the odds and use your story to find your life purpose.

    1. Excavate your story

Our story affects us in ways we don’t realize.
It’s also what makes you special, unique, and YOU.
Taking the time to write your story
    – figuring out your deepest pain points, your greatest achievements, your true strengths.
You may share it with a friend, a coach, or on your blog,
or you may never share it all.
But having someone truly hear you, see you,
and empathize with your story is a powerful way to heal your wounds.
When you can find meaning in your deepest wounds,
you catapult your life to the next level.
You release the pain, shame, and discomfort little by little.
And the next thing you know, your life feels more purposeful
and you have more energy because you’re no longer entangled in your story.

    2. Locate your shame points

Shame happens when we do things outside societal norms.
Finishing high school, getting a college degree, getting a respectable job,
having a wedding, buying a house and creating a family
is the socially accepted path in our culture.

When we deviate from this path,
the sense of belonging we deeply yearn for can be missing from our lives.
We feel deeply inadequate and a deep sense of shame over lives,
as though we’ll never be good enough to belong anywhere.

Working in the sex industry, not finishing high school,
spending every penny I earn without saving
    – these are my shame points.

I shed the shame by sharing it with the world,
which helps dissolve the emotional charge around it.
Moving past your shame is possible.
You have to realize that you are not alone,
it’s not your fault, and we all have things to work on and move through.
No amount of socially accepted achievements is going to make you feel
like you’ve had a purposeful life if it is not truly aligned with your path.

    3. Figure out what you truly value

    What’s important to you?
    Love? Connection? Professional success?
Living in a nice house in the suburbs with 4 kids
or traveling the world by yourself?
Being connected to what is most important naturally
aligns you with your higher purpose.

For me, finding a sense of belonging has been my strongest drive.
When I moved to San Francisco, I found people who truly mirrored me,
believed what I believed, and valued what I valued.
Finding my community healed my life in ways I cannot describe.
From there, creating a career I love, spending quality time with friends,
and having beauty around are the driving forces in my life today.
Life isn’t perfect and things happen,
but being connected to what’s important will hopefully bring you
some peace at the end of your life.

    4. Find small ways to care for yourself

When I started to make small changes in my life, everything changed.
I started taking care of my body through eating healing foods.
I lifted weights and felt strong.
I found my take on spirituality through vipassana meditation and yoga.
Instead of dwelling on my shame points
and defaulting to old self-destructive behaviors,
I learned that caring for myself changed the way I saw the world.
I felt better, I had less desire to drink, eat junk food,
or resort to other escapist behaviors.
    These changes didn’t happen overnight.
It took years to become more aligned with my life
and change my junk eating, couch lounging self-destructive behaviors.

If you don’t know where to start, pick one area of your life that needs work.

If it’s diet, come up with one SMALL change you can do every day.

Maybe it’s adding a serving a vegetables to your plate.
Drinking more water. Eating less sugar.
Create the habit and do it every day for 30 days.
Don’t let your mind tell you it’s not enough.
Let yourself feel the success of change.
    Small change creates sustainable change.
Go slow and be kind to yourself.
Once you’ve mastered the art of one small change,
it becomes easier to create traction.

    5. Realize you are NOT your story and create a shift in perception

Your story is the path to uncovering your life’s greater purpose.
A person who is in a car accident and ends up in a wheelchair
copes with their pain and makes the best out of a difficult situation
by helping others going through the same
(see the show “Push Girls” for a beautiful example of this.)

    You have a choice:
to accept your story and use it as a teacher,
or reject it and become a victim.

Your story isn’t who you are as a human being,
but knowing yourself and turning your deepest wounds into strengths
is the greatest contribution you can bring to yourself and to the world around you.
You may find out you are much more valuable than you think,
and that all that you’ve been through has a purpose after all.

Are you ready to turn your wounds into wisdom?

    Owl Medicine

    *Mary Summer Rain/On Dreams:
    Owl characterizes heightened observational skills and developed awareness coupled with sharpened perceptive abilities;

wisdom resulting from high spiritual enlightenment. An *owlet* will signify one on the correct spiritual path.

    *D.J. Conway/Animal Magick:
A nocturnal bird of prey, these birds are related to the goatsucker and gaucharo. They are found nearly everywhere in the world.

Owls have hooked beaks and curved talons. They range in size from about five inches to over two feet.

They have a variety of color combinations, such as black, white, gray, brown, buff, and reddish.

Their eyes are quite large for seeing in the dark, and their face is surrounded by a disk of feathers.

Their calls vary from cackling to low-pitched hooting.

Since ancient times, the owl has been associated with wisdom, deep learning, and the Underworld deities.

Later, it came to be connected with black magick. It is a bird of prey and a night hunter.

The owl is a powerful, noiseless flyer with good hearing and sight.

The owl is armed with vicious talons and a beak for protection and hunting.

It is also so alert to its surroundings that it appears to turn its head completely around when watching something.

The owl was early on a creature of the Great Goddess. It was often combined with the goddess figure

to make an owl-woman in early matriarchal cultures such as Le Tene.

Stelae, figurines, and amulets belonging to the Megalithic era of France, Spain, Portugal, and Great Britain

show a goddess iwth great staring eyes; this figure has come to be referred to as the Eye-Goddess.

In Peru and Ecuador, the owl image deccorated spindle whorls along with a birth-giving goddess.

In Crete, during the third millennia B.C.E., jug-vases shaped like a winged owl

with female breasts were a ritual vessel; the breasts were perforated for pouring.

Originally, such Middle Eastern goddesses as Mari, Lilith, and Anath were closely connected with owls.

    A Sumerian relief of the goddess Lilith shows her naked except for a horned tiara;

she has owl-clawed feet and is accompanied by owls.

The Hebrew translation of this goddess's name is "screech owl".

As the patriarchies gained control, people began to believe the owl, and the goddesses with which it was associated,

was an ill-omenened bird whose form could be taken by an evil spirit.

Babylonians said that hooting owls were the souls of dead mothers crying for their children.

This gradually changed into the owl being an evil spirit which prowled the night and carried children off.

In Egyptian hieroglyphs, the owl signifies death, night, the black Sun in the Otherworlds.

There are differences of opinion as to whether the Chinese and Japanese considered this bird to symbolize evil and death.

The Ainu of Japan, howeer, did call this bird "beloved deity".

Athene/Minerva had an olw as her sacred familiar; its image was cast on coins to represent the city of Athens.

Homer writes that Pallas Athene was sometimes portrayed with an owl-face.

    The Etruscan god of night and darkness was associated with the owl and death;

the Romans adopted this view of the bird, saying that it was prophetic

but its hooting prophesied death and misfortune.

In Latin, the owl was called strix (pl. striges), a word which later changed into the Italian word strega for witch.

To the Celts, in general, this bird was a sacred magickal creature,

sometimes called the Night Hag and the Corpse Bird.

It symbolized Underworld deities, such as the Welsh god Gwynn ap Nudd, and the Welsh Mood goddess Blodeuwedd.

The messengers of the Hindu death god Yama were usually two dogs,

but occasionally he would send an owl as his messenger.

The Scottish Gaelic word cailleach means "owl"; this word connects it with the goddess Cailleach,

who was a deity of death.

The owl is identified with many Crone or Underworld goddesses in Europe and the Mediterranean area.

During the Middle Ages, the owl became known as the Night Hag.

This bird was called the Night Eagle by Native Americans.

Most of them believed the owl was a bird of sorcerers.

However, the Cherokees held sacred both the owl and cougar for their ability to see in the dark.

they said the owl brought messages at night through dreams.

This creature was Chief of the Night to the Pawnees, who said it gave protection.

Superstitions: Many cultures believe that to see an owl is unlucky,

while others consider this bird to be a messenger and guide, particularly in spiritual affairs.

Supposedly owls see in total darkness; the turth is they must have some light just as cats do.

They are not blind during the day. If you look into an owl's nest, you will be unhappy the rest of your life.

In Wales they say that if an owl hoots around houses, an unmarried girl has lost her virginity.

In France, if a pregnant woman hears an owl, the child will be a girl.

    Magickal or Magical Attributes: Silent and swift movement; keen sight into obscure events;

unmasking those who would deceive you. In meditation, often a guide to and from the Underworld.

Wisdom, magic, magick, darkness, freedom. Dreams, shape-shifting.

Clairvoyance, astral projection, magick or magic.

A messenger of hidden truth, secrets, and omens. Moon magic or Moon magick.

    Wisdom to make positive changes.

    Quote:Wisdom to make positive changes.

I was hoping I'd find something along the above lines in Owl Medicine.

During the summer before EarthSky and I were married, we were talking about getting married, and about moving to Canada.
In June I miscarried, but we were sure that this soul didn't want to come through just yet, that (s)he was waiting for Canada.
That whole summer, while we were in the midst of wedding thoughts, Canada thoughts and children thoughts, we were accompanied by Owl.
    Owl would start off near our window, and as we moved outside, Owl would move a bit further away but still within sight;
on the chimneys of the terrace houses behind us. Owl in the middle of a city wasn't very common,
so we were rather surprised that this Owl was where it was. And at one point, there were two Owls, communicating together.

We remember one night specifically. We'd been working at home, into the evening hours, it was coming up to midnight.
As we were getting ready to have "dinner" (our schedule was a late one at that time...
we even went out for two hour walks after "dinner") we heard Owl. We opened the back door,
and heard that the back neighbours were playing music.
"From the New World", by Dvorak. This is a piece that EarthSky and I both have an affinity with,
    we recognized it immediately.
To our surprise, Owl was sitting on the roof of the house where that music was coming from,
and Owl was punctuating the music at rhythmically correct moments with her rather magical hooting.
EarthSky and I felt that this was a sign that the "New World" was coming. T
hat new world did arrive, within five months of that night, we were married, living in Canada, and pregnant with our firstborn.

We also feel that the miscarriage and the constant rejections to job applications that Earthsky was getting
(he'd get to the final shortlist, but get rejected for not having published enough papers... )
    were comforted by Owl's presence.
Owl kept our hopes up, our dreams alive, and kept us in touch with our intuition.
We could have seen it as "negative"... "see, Owl is telling us that this plan isn't working, that this is wrong".
But there was something about Owl.
The death of the fetus, the death of our time in Europe, the rebirth into our new lives as friends and partners,
our rebirth into Canada and the birth of our son. We do feel that Owl was the bringer of this medicine.

    ***********************************************************************************************************************************************

Although the Japanese generally regard the owl as a wise and benevolent night creature,

most of the cultures of Asia fear the bird as a demon of darkness that delights in carrying off human souls.

Conversely, in the Polynesian tradition, the owl is a special protector in battles or danger

and brings back to life any souls that may be lost and wandering.

If you have long cherished the owl as a totem animal, you are quite likely a student of the mysterious

and the unknown who loves to ferret out clues to the unexplained enigmas of existence on the Earth Mother.

You probably enjoy watching magicians perform their craft, and you may even be an amateur magician.

Even your closest friends may consider you something of a paradox--on the one hand,

you seem to worship logic and reason; on the other, you appear to prefer fantasy and the illogical.

With the owl as your spirit helper, you will not cease to explore the most distant perimeters of the unknown.

And you will not cease spending an equal amount of time in the Silence, receiving messages from the Great Mystery.

    *More to follow.
    Blessings,

Three Promises, from The Book of Love

"There are three promises made at the dawn of time, each of them sacred.

The first promise is to God, your Mother and Father in heaven.
It represents your most divine mission, what you have come here to accomplish in the image of your Creators.
It is the reason for incarnation, the purest intention of your soul
The second promise is to the Family of Spirit within which you were created and will belong through eternity.
It represents your relationship to each of the souls in your family and how you have agreed to assist them in their mission and they in yours.
The third promise is to yourself. It represents how you desire to learn and frow and love within the context of incarnation.

Align yourself with these promises you have made, for they are sacred above all else.

Remember them and cherish them, and you will know the greatest joy available to humankind.

Do nothing that you know to be against your sacred promise, for that is the truest definition of sin.

For those with ears to hear, let them hear it. "

12 Little Known Secrets about Karma

What is Karma? Karma is the Sanskrit word for action.

It is equivalent to Newton's law of ‘every action must have a reaction’.

When we think, speak or act we initiate a force that will react accordingly.
To stop being afraid and to start being empowered in the worlds of karma and reincarnation,
here is what you need to know about karmic laws.

This returning force maybe modified, changed or suspended,
but most people will not be able eradicate it.

This law of cause and effect is not punishment,
but is wholly for the sake of education or learning.

A person may not escape the consequences of his actions,

but he will suffer only if he himself has made the conditions ripe for his suffering.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse whether the laws are man-made or universal.

To stop being afraid and to start being empowered in the worlds of karma and reincarnation,

here is what you need to know about karmic laws.

    1. THE GREAT LAW

    - "As you sow, so shall you reap". This is also known as the "Law of Cause and Effect".

    - Whatever we put out in the Universe is what comes back to us.

    - If what we want is Happiness, Peace, Love, Friendship...
Then we should BE Happy, Peaceful, Loving and a True Friend.

    2. THE LAW OF CREATION

    - Life doesn't just HAPPEN, it requires our participation.

    - We are one with the Universe, both inside and out.
    - Whatever surrounds us gives us clues to our inner state.

    - BE yourself, and surround yourself with what you want to have present in your Life.

    3. THE LAW OF HUMILITY

    - What you refuse to accept, will continue for you.

    - If what we see is an enemy, or someone with a character trait
that we find to be negative, then we ourselves are not focused on a higher level of existence.

    4. THE LAW OF GROWTH

    - "Wherever you go, there you are".

    - For us to GROW in Spirit, it is we who must change
    - and not the people, places or things around us.

    - The only given we have in our lives is OURSELVES
and that is the only factor we have control over.

    - When we change who and what we are within our heart our life follows suit
    and changes too. THE

    5. LAW OF RESPONSIBILITY

    - Whenever there is something wrong in my life, there is something wrong in me.

    - We mirror what surrounds us - and what surrounds us mirrors us; this is a Universal Truth.

    - We must take responsibility what is in our life.

    6. THE LAW OF CONNECTION

    - Even if something we do seems inconsequential,
it is very important that it gets done as everything in the Universe is connected.

    - Each step leads to the next step, and so forth and so on.

    - Someone must do the initial work to get a job done.

    - Neither the first step nor the last are of greater significance,

    - As they were both needed to accomplish the task.

    - Past-Present-Future they are all connected...

    7. THE LAW OF FOCUS

    - You can not think of two things at the same time.

    - When our focus is on Spiritual Values, it is impossible for us to have
lower thoughts such as greed or anger.

    8. THE LAW OF GIVING AND HOSPITALITY

    - If you believe something to be true, then sometime in your life
you will be called upon to demonstrate that particular truth.

    - Here is where we put what we CLAIM that we have learned, into actual PRACTICE.

    9. THE LAW OF HERE AND NOW

    - Looking backward to examine what was, prevents us from being totally
    in the HERE AND NOW.

    - Old thoughts, old patterns of behavior, old dreams...

    - Prevent us from having new ones.

    10. THE LAW OF CHANGE

    - History repeats itself until we learn the lessons that we need to change our path.

    11. THE LAW OF PATIENCE AND REWARD

    - All Rewards require initial toil.

    - Rewards of lasting value require patient and persistent toil.

    - True joy follows doing what we're suppose to be doing,
and waiting for the reward to come in on its own time.

    12. THE LAW OF SIGNIFICANCE AND INSPIRATION

    - You get back from something whatever YOU have put into it.

    - The true value of something is a direct result of the energy and intent that is put into it.

    - Every personal contribution is also a contribution to the Whole.

    - Lack luster contributions have no impact on the Whole, nor do they work to diminish it.

    - Loving contributions bring life to, and inspire, the Whole.

An excellent question. If we knew what our thoughts were saying, I daresay the dialog would soon become quite still. Is there such a thing as a wordless thought? The feeling is like . . .

dying ??? Regrets of The Dying - THE 7 passages of LIFE - What the world needs NOW is SUPPORT CIRCLES !!! - Susan Lynne Schwenger - Page 8 Silence_space-1280x720_copy

    There is content beyond word and metaphor;
experience seems to capture the whole of it.

Also it has the feeling of jumping off a perfectly good boat . . .

What my thoughts are saying now is that there is another kind of thinking
(a kind that heals body and soul) that I've forgotten.
It affirms who we are and our nature every moment of self-awareness.
It's a way of seeing more directly without distraction of structure and form.
And it's something I can put into practicee..

What I need to do now is actualize these thoughts and give it a test run.

A GRAND CYCLE is a phrase used to describe one journey as a fragment from Tao, all the way through the incarnations, the Astral Plane, the Causal Plane, Mental Plane, Messianic and Buddhic Planes and reuniting with Tao again. A soul can then choose to leave again and choose a new Role to use through a whole other Grand Cycle and live as a completely different species on a different planet with different Essence Twin, Entity, etc.

If you think of your soul as a Spark that takes on a Role for a Grand Cycle, then you could say that a Grand Cycle is like a single lifetime is to your Role.

According to Michael, most on this planet average about 3 Grand Cycles,

but many of the current older souls can have 9 or more.

They don't really have any tangible effect, but for those with higher numbers of Grand Cycles t

here does tend to be a deeper, more profound spirituality about them, and they "wise up" faster than others, it seems.

This is why, say, some Baby Souls can actually seem older in soul age than they are,

because of that deep undercurrent of experience within the spark/soul.

    I hope that helped!

The 8th Chakra ~ The Seat of the Soul

The conflicts of a human's life are directly proportional to the distance
at which energy of personality exists separately from the harmonic frequencies
that emanates from the divine spark or soul.

The seat of the soul, the eighth chakra, holds the ancient knowledge of our soul contracts and ultimately, our life purpose.

The 8th Chakra is the energy center of divine love, of spiritual compassion and spiritual selflessness.
The seat of the soul is the major core star of our energetic system,
also holding the records of what our souls had agreed as specific lessons in our upcoming lifetimes and past lives.

Reincarnation: the 35 steps of soul evolution

35 Steps According to many spiritual teachers, all human beings are, in reality, spiritual beings on a human journey.

We reincarnate as human beings in order to evolve as souls.

Our ultimate aim is to become fully conscious and capable as unique individual expressions of All That Is.

It is a long journey, but that’s okay because the soul is eternal.

Soul Evolution The soul’s journey is really a process of evolving. T

his means growing in consciousness, steadily progressing through different levels or stages of consciousness.

How do we grow in consciousness? Through taking on challenging experiences in physical form.

These cause us to make important, “soul-searching” choices and call upon us to discover our inner resources.

But why in physical form? Why would a perfectly happy spiritual being decide to inhabit the physical realm with all of its limitations and difficulties?

It is precisely so that we can experience the state of what feels like total separation from others and from the rest of reality.

Only by going into this physically separated human form can we know ourselves as beings in our own right, and not just as … well …

    undifferentiated blobs of energy.

Being physical throws our experiences and choices into extremely sharp relief in a way that is not possible otherwise.

This is how we learn who we are and how to become all that we are. In other words:

Choice and the ramifications of choice provide the essential lessons of life.

In a very real sense, you choose to be here in order

    to make choices.

    Messages from Michael

    The 35 Steps

We are here to know ourselves and be all we can be, step by step.

And according to the teachings of the entity known as Michael, there are 35 steps to the reincarnational process.

The body and personality you have now are merely the vehicles you have chosen for this latest step in your journey.

But why 35 steps? Why not 36 steps? Or 10? Or 100?

It is simply because, according to Michael, we go through five major stages of evolution through reincarnation.

And, within each stage there are seven increments or levels to be completed.

    (Yes, it is rather like a computer game.) 5 x 7 = 35.

    35 steps
dying ??? Regrets of The Dying - THE 7 passages of LIFE - What the world needs NOW is SUPPORT CIRCLES !!! - Susan Lynne Schwenger - Page 8 35-steps.png?zoom=1

Each single step requires a whole lifetime to complete.

In fact, each step usually requires more than one lifetime.

Typically, the entire journey of 35 steps takes well over a hundred lifetimes.

So let’s look at the journey in more detail.

We’ll start with the five major stages of soul evolution through reincarnation.

The Five Stages The Michael teachings describe a sequence of five “cycles” or stages of soul evolution.

They are named after the stages of human development:

    Stage 1: The INFANT Soul

Stage 2: The BABY Soul [also known as CHILD Soul]

    Stage 3: The YOUNG Soul

    Stage 4: The MATURE Soul

    Stage 5: The OLD Soul

Each of these five corresponds to a specific level of development in capability and self-awareness within the individual soul.

Each stage is also characterised by a different learning focus that is more subtle than the previous ones.

Michael Newton Incidentally, the same pattern of soul evolution has been identified by the hypnotherapist Michael Newton (right).

His groundbreaking research was published in the best-selling book Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives (Llewellyn, 1994).

The books by Newton and his students draw upon thousands of transcripts of people who, under hypnotic regression,

have re-experienced being between lives. From the higher perspective of their soul they are able to explain what happens after death and before birth.

This includes information about the levels of consciousness through which reincarnating souls evolve.

What Newton and others have discovered is that souls between lives exist in light-form,

and that each soul emanates a particular colour of the spectrum which indicates its current level of consciousness.

The spectrum begins at white (all colours) but then goes through red, yellow, green, blue, to deep purple and violet.

From low frequency to high frequency.

The least evolved souls — the “newbies” — have a pinkish hue.

The oldest souls — those nearing the end of the whole reincarnational cycle — have a blueish hue.

Although the spectrum is a continuum, Dr. Newton has found that it can be divided into five distinct stages or levels of evolvement,

from Level I to Level V. These can be mapped onto the five stages given in the Michael teachings, from Infant soul to Old soul.

So, for example, souls in the middle (or third) stage of reincarnation are referred to as “Young souls” in the Michael teachings

and they are at what Newton would call “Level III”. They will have a yellowish or golden hue.

(As an aside, both Newton and the Michael entity also identify higher levels of soul evolution which do not involve reincarnation.)

The stages of reincarnation (or soul age) can also be likened to the stages of metamorphosis we see in nature,

such as egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly.

In reincarnation, though, what changes is not the physical form but the mode of consciousness, especially the form of self-awareness and

    — as a result — the way of relating to others.

Soul age and personality Soul age will affect how a personality comes across in certain ways.

Infant souls focus on immediate survival needs. They flourish in simple environments close to nature, such as remote tribes or rural, pastoral settings.

In the context of modern society, however, they can come across as uncivilised simpletons or yokels, and may even be deemed to be psychopathic

or have some sort of developmental disorder.

Psychologically, they are naive, impulsive and “pre-conventional”, acting on impulse or habit with little or no thought for consequences.

Because they lack both social understanding and self-inhibition, they are capable of committing antisocial or immoral acts without any sense of wrongdoing.

As such, they do not fit well within modern society and may end up in prison or in psychiatric units.

While infant souls may lack the moral principles, social graces and cultural understanding of older souls, they are in a sense completely innocent,

    being without pretense or agenda.

[Well-known example: Fred West, serial killer]

Baby souls, in contrast to Infant souls, think a great deal about their actions. Their lives are about safety, security, structure and order — rigidly so.

Both their beliefs and their actions are largely rule-bound, so they are often ultra-conservative, traditionalist, orthodox, upright, moralistic, religiously devout,

and mindful of law and order. That said, they will occasionally give in to temptation, or temper tantrum, and break the rules themselves

    — but then might find themselves tortured with guilt and shame.

They come across to older souls as rather “square” – conscientious, conventional, conformist.

Baby soul communities tend to be highly principled and civilised (think of the Amish).

They are acutely aware of the rights and wrongs of people’s actions, including their own, though they have little insight into the motives behind them.

Bad behaviour is sinful, and that’s that. [Well-known example: Jimmy Swaggart]

Young souls tend to be extravert, outward-bound, worldly, frenetically energetic, brash, competitive, political, ambitious and individualistic.

They are more ego-driven than personalities at any other soul age, keen to prove themselves in the world at large.

They like to think for themselves, assert their own opinions, and follow their own agenda, with a certainty that their own way is by far the best way.

They are generally attracted to some form of worldly success

    — fame, fortune, power, glory. In fact, they are more fearful of death than souls at other stages,

and those who aren’t sure about life after death may be anxious to make a big impact on the world stage

    – to create some kind of symbolic immortality for themselves. Young souls are acutely aware of their own goals and intentions but do not really question them.

    [Well-known example: Napoléon Bonaparte.]

Mature souls tend to be thoughtful, reflective and sincere within themselves, and sensitive and empathetic towards others.

Psychologically, their awareness is no longer egocentric (in the sense of being limited to a single perspective),

but capable of accommodating multiple perspectives. In fact, the self-serving ego comes to be seen as a problem,

something to be overcome — though in reality it is more a case of incorporating it into a broader level of awareness.

This tension between ego and ego-transcendence, or between having both a personal agenda and a desire to be more open and authentic,

makes life much more complicated — sometimes overwhelmingly so. On the one hand, mature souls reject narrow-minded values.

Yet on the other hand, they can empathise with whoever holds those same values. Fixed opinions are replaced by a sense of ever-shifting perspectives

    — “It all depends on how you look at it”. This disappearance of solid ground kicks off a search for deeper meaning and self-understanding

    — whether through art, psychology, philosophy or spirituality. Politically, mature souls tend to be liberal and inclusive,

and disapprove of any kind of narrow chauvinism. To younger souls, they can come across as bleeding-heart liberals.

They tend to question everything, including their own motives, and are prone to do a lot of soul-searching (literally).

    [Well known example: Barack Obama.]

OId souls tend to exude some degree of depth, gravitas or wisdom that is quite unmistakable.

Having moved beyond the conflicts of the mature soul, they are also lighter and have a sense of joyous freedom

    — the freedom to enjoy being very much in the world, but not of it.

They are relatively calm, measured, untroubled and stable, unattached to social structures and cultural expectations,

being sure of their own existence and inner strengths and their compassion for others.

Their focus is on true self-expression and fulfillment, consciously participating in the evolution of all-that-is.

As such, they tend to go their own unique way in life, letting go and letting be, in a detached way that may seem very weird and eccentric to younger souls

. Late-stage old souls often focus on teaching spiritual wisdom with great compassion.

    [Well-known example: Osho]

Note: These descriptions emphasise the differences between stages.

In reality, though, there is a gradual blend from one stage to the next.

A person at the start of the Mature stage, for example, will act mostly like a Young soul but with elements of Mature soul nature beginning to emerge.

The lessons of each stage Here are the five stages of soul evolution through human reincarnation,

together with the typical learning experiences associated with each stage:
dying ??? Regrets of The Dying - THE 7 passages of LIFE - What the world needs NOW is SUPPORT CIRCLES !!! - Susan Lynne Schwenger - Page 8 Soul-age-focus-2-450
o we begin reincarnating as Infant souls, complete novices at physical existence

. At this first stage we are largely in a state of incompetence and terror, frankly.

But through experiences and choices we learn and grow. We steadily progress from being Infant souls to Baby souls to Young souls to Mature souls.

Finally, we enter the fifth stage as accomplished Old souls, the experts of human existence.

As infant souls we learned about choices having to do with survival, as baby souls choices having to do with moral codes and ethics,

as young souls choices having to do with mastery of achievement, as mature souls choices having to do with relationships,

and as old souls choices having to do with the nature of oneness with the Tao.

An infant soul would therefore not understand the choices of an old soul

although an older soul would likely have more understanding of the nature of younger soul choice having had them.

Soul levels in the human population

The six or seven billion people on the planet span the whole range of stages, but the average is said to be somewhere just past the mid-point of stage 3 (see chart below). In other words, this world is currently dominated by Young souls whose primary focus is competitive self-advancement.

dying ??? Regrets of The Dying - THE 7 passages of LIFE - What the world needs NOW is SUPPORT CIRCLES !!! - Susan Lynne Schwenger - Page 8 Soul-age-curve-490.jpg?zoom=1
The seven steps within each stage

Within each stage there are seven discrete steps to go through. In the Michael teachings, they are called “levels”, so in each stage we proceed from 1st level to 7th level. Calling these “levels” can be a bit confusing (since Newton refers to the five major stages as “levels”), so I sometimes prefer to call them “steps”.

So each stage of reincarnation has seven distinct learning steps. For example, we begin the whole journey at step 1 as Infant souls, learn that lesson, then undertake step 2 as Infant souls, and so on. On completing the 7th step of the Infant stage, we then begin the 1st step of the Baby stage.
dying ??? Regrets of The Dying - THE 7 passages of LIFE - What the world needs NOW is SUPPORT CIRCLES !!! - Susan Lynne Schwenger - Page 8 35-steps
The early steps in any stage are about experiencing life at this new stage of evolution, learning the essential lessons through appropriate experiences.

The later steps are about expressing those lessons, demonstrating this level of consciousness in action.

For example, in the Young soul stage, the first three steps — from 1st level Young soul to 3rd level Young soul — are about discovering the meaning of free will and self-determination; the last three steps — 5th level Young soul to 7th level Young soul — are about demonstrating the meaning of free will and self-determination in action. (The middle step — 4th level Young soul — is about consolidating the lessons learned.)

The first step or level of any stage is like putting a toe in the water; the final step is like teaching others how to swim:
1st Level Initiation into the new stage. “Toe in the water.” First glimpses of the new consciousness. We come to recognise that there is a whole new way of being ahead of us, and we respond to the call, even though as yet it is beyond our comprehension.
2nd Level Building foundations. Wading in and out. Comparing and contrasting the old and new consciousness. We come to understand what is essential and different about this higher level, though it still remains ‘ahead’ of us, not quite within us.
3rd Level Rising to the challenge. Taking the plunge. We determinedly commit ourselves to actively embrace and explore the new consciousness.
4th Level Integration. Relaxing into it, “enjoying the water.” We now identify ourselves with this way of understanding self, life and others – this is our truth. We fully incorporate and consolidate the new consciousness into our own being.
5th Level Expression. Splashing about – “Look at me!” We openly share and communicate our new, true sense of self and of life’s meaning. We feel drawn to broadcast our truth, to “go public” with it.
6th Level Demonstration. Giving value and benefit to others. “Being a life guard.” Our new consciousness is put to the test. We also burn off any outstanding karma incurred in the earlier steps of this stage.
7th Level Mastery. Peak performance. We have complete understanding and control of our awareness at this level. We know exactly what we are doing. We may feel like a role model. Hmm… What’s next?

This sequence of seven steps is repeated through each stage, making 35 steps in all from the beginning of reincarnation to the end.

    The Michael Teaching™
    Add comments

The Michael Teaching™ is a comprehensive metaphysical philosophy that has four major interrelated aspects:

Presents a cosmology describing the structure of God, as Michael calls it (the TAO), Nature and the physical Universe and how these are constructs that provide the platform for the Spiritual Design of Human Experience.
Provides a complete description of the building blocks of human psychology in the form of a Personality Trait System known as the Overleaves. The Overleaves are the “templates” of perception and style that allow for both consistent similarities within the human family; while allowing for virtually infinite variation and diversity. At the same time!
Describes the foundations of World Views underlying social movements and group dynamics; redefining the concepts of spiritual evolution in terms of Soul Age and Soul Level.
Offers anyone, who is open-minded and personally activated, to partake in direct consultation with the Michael Entity in a channeling session. This can take place with assistance of a practiced professional channel, or the individual making direct contact in a conscious trance or Quija Board. (Michael does not discriminate, but it does take practice, focus, and aptitude.)

Where did the Michael Teaching™ originate?

The Michael Teaching concepts have derived from many sources: including the works of Gurdieff and Ospensky and from the historic precepts of the Sufi’s. It was first introduced in the book “Messages From Michael” by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro in 1978. More recently, the Michael Teachings have evolved from a number of dedicated students, including Channels: Sarah Chambers, JP Van Hulle, Aaron Christaean, Jose Stevens, Simon Warwick-Smith, Emily Baumbach, Joya Pope, Larry Byrum, Holly Coleman, Shepherd Hoodwin, Troy Tolly, Marina Tompkins, Terri Benning, Philip Whitmeyer, David Gregg and Stephen Cocconi.

Collectively, this material has evolved into this form. Who or what is Michael? For the Channeler, Michael is a separate but shared identity. Having existance unto itself, Michael describes itself as a group soul of 1,050 members. Using their own terminology to describe spiritual evolution, they say they reside at a level of soul development known as the “Causal Plane.” All once human, they have merged together and combined their knowledge, skill, and wisdom gained from thousands of human lifetimes. Michael has compassion for us, knowing the human path can be hard. They gain clarity and philanthropic karma for serving us here on the physical plane.

Overleaves as part of the Michael Teaching

To begin, the Michael Teaching is a metaphysical view of creation and the human experience.

The Universal Force driving this creation is referred as the TAO, rather than God, in an effort to remove the gender stereotyping of a masculine deity.

The Overleaf Energies are the “flavors” or “primary colors” of the TAO. It follows then, that when an unique Essence or Soul

decides to experience individuality (separation from God) that the building blocks available to it are the same basic materials of the Universe

    itself. (i.e. the Overleaves)

. As a personality trait system, the Overleaves have been channeled and are validated intuitively and empirically by Michael Students,

rather than statistically like other personality trait systems. Each Overleaf trait has distinct, identifiable physical appearance and energy signature

that one can be trained to discern and recognize. Michael Channel’s have been born with this talent though refinement of the skill occurs with practice.

Why would one study this material?

This is a teaching based upon the principle that all people deserve compassion.

And, there is no better place to start than with yourself. When we speak of Self-Love we are not referring to indulging in ego-aggrandizing Narcissism.

Rather, the Michael philosophy promotes the kind of unconditional respect of our shared human dilemma, a term the Greeks called “AGAPE.”

Equipped with Self-Knowledge, Self-Forgiveness, and rejuvenated with Self-Esteem, you achieve “amour-propre”

and become empowered to resolve conflict between yourself and others.

Thus, you set an example and model the kind of behavior and attitudes that can overcome hostility and engender trust.

my 1st Grand Cycle as Scholar

FROM MICHAEL: This Cycle appears to have been lived through a species that might be seen as rather etheric and gossamer in body, ghostly if you will.

This species is related to descendants who would come to be known as Lemurians on Earth.

My 2nd Grand Cycle as Warrior

FROM MICHAEL: This Cycle appears to have been lived through a species that might be seen as electrical currents,

existing in a medium of a planet wrought with electrical storms.

My 3rd Grand Cycle as King FROM MICHAEL: This Cycle appears to have been lived as an insectoid species that would most resemble a Praying Mantis,

on a tiny planet lush with the equivalent of trees and plants.

This species was profoundly philosophical, with a great emphasis on meditation and exploring off-planet via means that were not physical.

This had led them to become rather adept at Astral Travel, visiting the dreams of many civilizations. This species still exists.

My 4th Grand Cycle as Priest

FROM MICHAEL: This Cycle appears to have been lived through a silicon-based species that inhabited Earth previous to the current population of Sentience on the planet.

This species would seem to be lava-like to you, and many of our students who lived as this Cycle tend to have a strong attraction to ancient and prehistoric levels of life on this planet,

as well as a strong attraction to the Mineral and Shamanic kingdoms.

[Geraldine says:] I'd like more information on the first sentient species on earth, the silicon- based or "lava-like" species whose "bones" are agates.

This is the first species I'm aware of that wasn't carbon-based or alive in any of our current meanings of the word.

How long did their Grand Cycle last, what types of things did they "do" to evolve, how did evolution/civilization express itself, etc.

[Michael] The silocon-based life forms were flourishing approximately 4000 million years ago, just after a meteor collision with Earth

that prompted the Sentient development within the molten elements.

Consciousness exists in all forms, and all matter, to some extent, so the bacteria aboard the meteor, having been completely destroyed,

transferred Sentience to what you might see as molten or lava-like "blobs" by accelerating the growth of consciousness for some time, first.

The Sentience, then, had transferred mid-cycle, so to speak. Having already been in bodies that you would recognize as bacteria, being "molten blobs" was not a stretch.

My 5th Grand cycle as Priest

FROM MICHAEL: This Grand Cycle appears to have been lived through a species that was disc-shaped and capable of flight and burrowing.

A great amount of the "surface" of the planet was a thick, tangible gaseous cloud, if you will, where most of this species spent its lives working through its Cycle.

Rather than reincarnate into new bodies, this species would eventually "crash" to the more solid surface,

burrowing beneath the ground in a long hibernation that allowed for a regeneration of its magnetic qualities that allowed for it to exist in permanent flight for each lifetime.

The entire electromagnetic system would shut down, allowing for a reset of Overleaves and programming,

which allowed for each Essence to keep using whatever body it began with.

Mating was a matter of friction, in that the rubbing together of two or more bodies would create "sparks" that the gaseous cloud

would then accumulate around, creating a new body for a new Essence.

All fragments were in bodies before the first body actually died, which is when the first Essence cycled off.

From there, the Cycling off came rapidly for each successive wave, as each removal of a body would cause a weakening of the magnetic dynamic,

generating faster cycles of "crashes," until no more bodies could stay afloat.

My 6th Grand Cycle as King:

FROM MICHAEL: This appears to have been through a species that would be considered "snake-like," though some of the body types had wings that allowed for flying.

The biological wings were an indicator of those with status in some way, which the King Essences gravitated toward, even after development of an artificial means

of gliding was adapted by the species. This was the only sentient species on the planet, or in the star system.

My 7th Grand cycle as Sage:

FROM MICHAEL: This appears to have been through a species that was highly-mobile, and quite eager for off-planet travel,

as the body types were of quite a flexible and resilient nature, with no bones, or required shapes, so much so that they may have been seen as "rubbery."

Thoughts shaped the bodies. Depending upon the cycle of civilizations at the time, body shapes were agreed upon

and generally adhered to, but as the species aged in soul age, thoughts gave way to moods and feelings, and bodies took any number of shapes

to reflect this more honest representation. This species traveled its star system freely over half of its existence.

My 8th Grand Cycle as Priest

FROM MICHAEL: This appears to have been in a humanoid species that would be difficult to differentiate from your current species,

except for the upholding of intuitive and psychic development that allowed for not only telepathic communications as a standard,

but also such things as psychokinesis, etc. This species currently still exists, but as a completely new Design of sentience,

and actively explores the galaxies using these skills.

My 9th Grand Cycle as Artisan

    FROM MICHAEL: This is a cycle that most of our students shared together on a planet with only two species;

one being large amphibian species and one being small tree-dwelling humanoids.

A eco-dynamic was in place that was specific to the symbiotic nature of these two very different species.

Because there was no process of weather that would bring rain, the trees would suffer without water.

The large amphibians, then, would live in cycles that moved in and out of the river beds and bodies of water

that would become so populated, it would push the waters above the shores for the land to use more accessibly. In return,

the tree-dwelling species would ensure that the perfectly-ripened fruits were made available from the trees to those amphibians.

This Grand Cycle, for many of our students, and including ourselves, was one of the most peaceful and restful Cycles we have ever experienced.

Peter Farley, who categorizes them as follows:

From: the twelve primary races of our universe

"There are 12 primary races in this universe

(and probably a countless number of other races):
    Felines
    Carians
    Humans
    Reptilians
    AI(worry)
    Cetaceans

    Crystallines
    Electricals
    Elementals
    Insectilians
    Liquidians
    Orbs

Each of the races has their own specific traits. For example,

    AIs don't have emotional body.

Also Electricals don't have real emotions."
