Already Passed by Congress On October 5, 1982, Dr. Brain T. Clifford of the Pentagon announced at a press conference ("The Star", New York, Oct. 5, 1982) that contact between U.S. citizens and extra-terrestrials or their vehicles is strictly illegal. According to a law already on the books (Title 14, Section 1211 of the Code of Federal Regulations, adopted on July 16, 1969, before the Apollo moon shots), anyone guilty of such contact automatically becomes a wanted criminal to be jailed for one year and fined $5,000.
The NASA administrator is empowered to determine with or without a hearing that a person or object has been "extraterrestrially exposed" and impose an indeterminate quarantine under armed guard, which could not be broken even by court order. There is no limit placed on the number of individuals who could thus be arbitrarily quarantined.

With so many restricting laws , I am still looking for signs that people will to take the law into their hands . What short memories we have...it was eight years of Bush/Cheney ramrodding fascist policies down the throats of Americans and two illegal wars that virtually destroyed America. Not to mention 30yrs of Republicon policies launched in the Reagan years. The entire right wing, along with a few bu-dog Dem's are ALL wholly owned toadies of Wall Street, transnational corporations AND the military industrial complex ALL of which are destroying the world. Yeah the Democrats are partially to fault as well, but there are still enough of them with integrity, compassion and an intent to govern for the benefit of the people that the Democratic party is not to blame - for Chrissakes Obama hasbn't been in office long enough to do the damage that's been done.
And lets not forget mass media machine is completely owned by neo-conservative Republicons, the same machine that pumps out propaganda promoting hate, fear and racism with something called "talking points". Talking points go out to the LimBecks, Hannitys and Savages that do nothing but spew lies 24/7...the same machine that drove the birther crap into a fevered pitch. An issue drenched in fear, hate and racism that has done nothing but drag this country back from decades of progress towards equality in America.
That birther crap has hurt sooo many people and to those of us who actually care about people, who believe that love is the answer see how much those have LIES hurt millions of people. Obama has attempted to pass 240 bills that COULD HAVE made America a better place, but the RepubliCONs in the Senate vetoed every single bill. They are the ones who HATE America and want to see it fail - they haven't passed ONE bill. Nothing that would have promoted jobs or anything else that benefited the country. Now they blame everything on spending and debt, with aims of stealing medicare and Social Security because its the only thing left to steal! The problem tho is revenue, lack of taxes from the wealthy and corporations but the right wing won't have any of it because their corporate masters won't let them touch taxs.

Granted he hasn't accomplished things he promised - BUT he hasn't gotten one bit of cooperation or bi-partisanship from the Senate either...and now the House. He really has tried to do some good things but they haven't worked with him on anything he's put forward, but that doesn't get attention from the right wing corporate owned & operated media. Granted Obama is also caught in the war mongering, along with pandering to Wall Street and corporate America. But,on the other hand he is still trying to help average Americans be creating jobs and keeping the social net in structure. He tried to raise taxes on the wealthy and corporations to bring in revenue but the right wing said HELL NO! the Americans aren't worth helping, or saving.
The fact that you two can't see this is really sad and it only goes to show how little you know about what's driving politics in America. If you believe what you said about the Democrats, you obviously are only exposed to a lot of right wing propaganda where there is really very little true honest reporting to be found.
Everything coming from the right benefits the military, Wall Street and corporate America, the very things draining the lifeblood from this country. They are killing everything that made the US a great place at one time. My background and degree is in broadcasting, I used to work in radio and have followed what's happened and there's no more real honest news from mass media - it all has a right wing agenda.
There is very little honest, fair and balanced progressive or alternative news to be found in mass media due to deregulation. It used to be you could here several view points on one radio station because it was required by the FCC to provide fair and balanced programming to the community. Now it's dominated by right wing propaganda by in 90% of the markets across the country!

Eliminate minimum wage, child labor laws, medicare for vouchers, get rid of public schools Kindegarten through 12th gone, librarys, parks, police and fire depts, postal...everything into private hands so we have to pay more for worse service. Listening to Randi Rhodes today was and always is very enlightening...this video is from her website. Baratunde is a Harvard Grad, among other things he writes for the Onion so he has a very light hearted optimistic attitude - normally. Hear his comments today...

To everyone's credit...there aren't many mass media outlets left for people to get the truth from and in a time of crisis it can be easy to get sucked into the wrong message. Especially with a lack of choice...but there are alternatives with people who ARE telling the truth with integrity, passion, intelligence and most of all the FACTS.
Everyone who cares, or wants to know the truth should be listening to Randi Rhodes and a relative new comer named Norman Goldman.
Give them two weeks listening time and your opinion will change about what's going on...just put a dot com behind the names to find their websites and stations streaming live. Norman's podcasts are free, Randi's has a small fee...but she's the Limbaugh's antithesis and beats him in the ratings in every town they compete in. And she's worth the small fee because she's real, honest and has done her homework like no one else. Although...Normans catching up.

No need to apologize AscendingStarseed . Threads are open to debate . I am in favor of non violence as I have been witness several times in my life that hate breeds hate. If we want lasting peace we will need to adress the problems we face with that aim strongly anchored as our intention and then act accordingly . Although I do understand the gut feeling one may have to pay a wrong endured back , the power of men standing and clearly saying NO when abuse strikes is more admirable than any act of violence imo. We all too often explode in anger or hit back with a blow by lack of any better idea. I have great respect for Aikido as although a martial Art it is the Art of Peace. In human relations when peace is the intention a lot of the trouble we may be running into are avoided.

Makes me wonder about the safety of those contactees who go public. Why would anyone be writing about this subject if the law is true? And the law is from 1969...and we were just reminded of it in 1982, hmmm. What about contactee writings before 1969? Are they exempt? What a can of worms, legally.
