THE BALLOON LAUNCH WAS A SUCCESS: Yesterday, Dr. Tony Phillips and the staff of Spaceweather.com launched two Earth to Sky cosmic ray balloons during the total solar eclipse in Texas. Both balloons were in or near the stratosphere when the Moon's shadow arrived. We don't yet know what kind of images the cameras recorded, but the launches themselves were a success. Stay tuned for updates after the payloads are recovered from the Texas hill country.
TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN: Millions of people in North America just had their minds blown. On April 8th, the Moon passed directly in front of the sun, producing a total eclipse visible from Mexico to Maine. In Carbondale, Illinois , astronomer Jimmy Westlake witnessed two of the most amazing phenomena--Bailey's Beads and red prominences visible to the naked eye.
"The sky was crystal blue for today’s eclipse in Carbondale," says Westlake. "It was just as incredible as it looks!"
NOAA's GOES-16 satellite saw what happened from Earth orbit. The Moon's shadow raced across North America faster than 1500 mph, creating a mind-altering cone of darkness:
A great number of people inside that shadow are now asking themselves one question: When is the next eclipse?! The next total solar eclipse with a coast-to-coast path spanning the Lower 48 states will occur on August 12, 2045.

Obviously the whole area around (and spreading out from) Taiwan has shifted majorly in the past few days.
This is number 4 of the 9 different M6.0+ earthquakes forecast for this week.
When bringing the beams into alignment and when doing beam dumps.. we've noticed a few things:
Bringing Beams into alignment = large earthquakes strike----- like Japan 2011, Nepal, Ecuador, Kyushu Japan, and New Zealand
Then CERN goes into shutdown (either temporary or long term) after the big quakes hit.
AND.. when doing beam dumps, deep earthquakes pop off on multiple points on the opposite side of the planet without any solar activity which normally causes such flare ups.
Both the beam alignment AND beam drops are causing earthquakes.
It could very well be that during beam alignment , they do beam dumps, in which case it is the beam dumps not the alignment causing the large quakes as well as the deep ones.

THE QUIET HAS ENDED: After more than a week of relative quiet, the sun produced an impulsive M5.4-class solar flare on April 11th (1706 UT). The source of the blast was just behind the sun's northeastern limb. This means an active sunspot may be hiding behind the edge of the solar disk, turning to face Earth this weekend.
VOLCANIC VORTEX RINGS: Mount Etna in Italy is doing domething rare and beautiful. "It is blowing smoke rings," reports Marcella Giulia Pace, who photographed the phenomenon on April 6th:
"A continuous jet of rings is dancing around the craters until they dissolve into the sky--a phenomenon of extreme rarity," she says.
Mount Etna has produced vortices before, but nothing like this. In April 2024 Etna "has broken all previous records," according to Boris Behncke of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of Catania. Tourists are flocking to the mountain to witness the display.
The rapid-fire puffs are coming from a newly-opened vent, which is blowing rings of volcanic gas similar to how dolphins blow bubble rings in water.
The gas rings are composed of 80 percent water vapor, with the remaining 20 percent mostly made of sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide. It is the water vapor that gives the rings their white hue, making them resemble Gandalf-like smoke rings.

INCREASING SOLAR FLARE ACTIVITY:During the past 24 hours, the sun has produced half-a-dozen M-class solar flares. Most have come from growing sunspot AR3639 near the sun's northeastern limb:

From Monday through Wednesday, a significant area of the Midwest and Southern Plains, including Nebraska, might see severe weather that could affect almost 50 million inhabitants of the United States.
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) of the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a high risk (level 3/5) of severe thunderstorms over a significant area of Kansas and Nebraska on Monday. Additionally, there was a probability of severe weather in coastal Virginia.
On Sunday night, a series of strong thunderstorms damaged parts of Pennsylvania. Though April normally marks the start of the severe weather season in parts of the United States, this was an early line of storms for one so far north and east and so disastrous.
The NWS warned that thunderstorms might bring "very large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes" to the Plains and some parts of the Mid-Atlantic coast during a forecast discussion on Monday morning.
Though it does not garner the same attention as tornadoes, large hail may cause major financial losses owing to damage to automobiles, houses, and crops. In the US, these losses were quite substantial the previous year.
The SPC issued a forecast on Monday afternoon that showers and thunderstorms will continue to spread throughout the Great Plains and that the severe weather danger would persist on Monday night, "when scattered to severe thunderstorms are likely to initiate across the Southern to Central Great Plains."
According to the NWS, this increases the likelihood of severe storms in western Oklahoma and some parts of northwest Texas "due in part to the threat of large to very large hail, damaging wind gusts, and a few tornadoes."
With showers and thunderstorms predicted to move into the Mississippi Valley as part of the warm sector of a deep Great Plains storm, Tuesday is predicted to bring with it a change in the direction of severe weather chances.

THE SOLAR ECLIPSE SHIFTED TIME SIGNALS IN THE USA: The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a radio station in Fort Collins, Colorado. Call letters: WWV. Operating at multiple shortwave frequencies, WWV broadcasts precise time and frequency information 24/7 to listeners worldwide. On April 8, 2024, the frequency of WWV shifted:
"It was the solar eclipse," says ham radio operator Kristina Collins (W8EDU) of Cleveland, Ohio, who assembled records from 13 monitoring stations in and around the path of totality. "The HamSCI Personal Space Weather Station Network's Grape stations measure Doppler shift in the carrier signal of time standard radio stations such as WWV. On April 8th, the network saw a distinct S-curve signature associated with the eclipse."
The Doppler shift occured when the shadow of the Moon pierced the ionosphere, creating a temporary hole where ionization was reduced. This, in turn, altered the "skip distance" from transmitters to receivers, as shown in the diagram below:
The total Doppler shift was only a few cycles per second, similar to normal night-day variations, so no one actually lost track of time during the eclipse. Nevertheless, it is a fascinating demonstration of an eclipse's power to touch the Earth. ==
G2 – Moderate geomagnetic storm levels forecast as two more CMEs approach Earth - Wednesday, April 17, 2024
Solar wind parameters in 24 hours to 00:30 UTC on April 17, 2024, continued to be enhanced by a passing coronal mass ejection (CME) which impacted Earth around 17:25 UTC on April 15 (launched from the Sun on April 12). Two more CMEs, produced on April 14 and 15, are expected to make a combined impact at around 00:00 UTC on April 18.
Total magnetic field strength was mostly between 7-13 nT. The Bz component was predominantly southward, with a maximum deflection of -12 nT, while the solar wind speeds remained low, ranging between 350 – 400 km/s for most of the day.
Solar wind conditions are expected to trend towards nominal levels mid-day to late on April 17. Early on April 18, additional enhancements are expected due to the anticipated arrival of CMEs that left the Sun on April 14 and 15. Waning CME conditions are likely on April 19.
Under the CME influence, the geomagnetic field ranged from unsettled to G1 – Minor levels over the same period.
The geomagnetic field is expected to continue at unsettled to G2 – Moderate storm levels early on April 17 with continued CME influences. G1 – Minor geomagnetic storm conditions are likely on April 18 due to the anticipated arrival of CMEs that left the Sun on April 14 and 15. Quiet to unsettled conditions are likely on April 19 as CME influence wanes.
Solar activity was at moderate levels through 00:30 UTC today. Region 3643 (beta-gamma) produced the largest flare of the period, an M1.1/2n (R1 – Minor) at 18:02 UTC on April 16. Region 3643 along with Region 3639 (beta-gamma-delta) exhibited the most growth on the visible disk.
Newly numbered Region 3644 (beta) rotated onto the visible disk from the E limb while additional spots were observed rotating around the E limb.
Additional activity included an approximately 10-degree filament eruption near S50E25 beginning after 19:00 UTC on April 16 but further coronagraph imagery is needed to analyze any CME associated with the event, SWPC forecasters said.
Solar activity is forecast to be moderate, with M-class flares likely (65%) and a slight chance for an X-class flare (15%) through April 19.

In addition to those two quakes in Gulf of Ca., there were 11 or 12 quakes in the upper Gulf, NE of San Felipe. Only one was less than 3.0 (a 2.9) on the SSN’s scale. USGS usually shows quakes which both agencies rate to be .4-.7 below what SSN shows. Still, there was a cluster of quakes in the upper Gulf. Stress heading north, my bet’s on the San Jacinto rupturing before Elsinore or San Andreas. Not out of the question to have more than one of them slip.

Increased seismicity and inflation at Awu volcano, Alert Level raised to 3, Indonesia
Increased seismic activity and inflation detected at Awu Volcano prompted Indonesian authorities to elevate the alert level from 2 to 3 on April 16, 2024. The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) has advised the public to maintain a distance of at least 5 km (3.1 miles) from the crater due to potential explosive eruptions. The last eruption at this volcano took place in 2004 (VEI 2).
PVMBG reported notable changes in seismic patterns beginning March 22, with a further increase from April 10 to April 15, 2024. The observed seismic activity included 284 shallow volcanic earthquakes, 71 deep volcanic earthquakes, 14 local tectonic earthquakes, and 252 deep tectonic earthquakes, signaling a substantial shift in volcanic behavior.
Instrumental measurements from tiltmeters at two stations detected ground inflation between March 1 and March 16, indicating magma movement toward the surface. Severe weather claims 141 lives in Pakistan and Afghanistan amid unprecedented rainfall
Recent extreme weather conditions have led to significant casualties and destruction in Pakistan and Afghanistan, with a combined death toll of 141 as of April 18, 2024. Torrential rains and flash floods have devastated large areas, resulting in extensive damage to infrastructure and agriculture.
In Afghanistan, from April 13 to April 17, at least 70 people lost their lives amid devastating flash floods triggered by spring downpours across most provinces. The heavy rains followed an unusually dry winter that left the earth parched and more susceptible to flooding.
Disaster management spokesman Janan Sayeq reported that 56 people were injured and over 2 600 houses across 20 provinces were damaged. Additionally, the agricultural reported more than 2 000 livestock lost and 38 445 ha (95 000 acres) of farmland destroyed.
In neighboring Pakistan, officials reported 71 fatalities and 67 people injured. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province was particularly hard-hit, recording 32 deaths and 41 injuries. More than 2 600 homes in the province suffered damage.
Zaheer Ahmed Babar, a senior official at the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), noted that Baluchistan has experienced rainfall this month at 353% above normal. Across Pakistan, the overall rainfall this April has been 99% higher than the historical average, making it the wettest April in three decades.
Currently, the weather across much of Pakistan remains unstable.

The first thing in a disaster after getting to safety people what to do is call everyone (family & friends) to check location and if they're okay.
We've been in situations where all the intersection signal lights didn't work, communications were down, roads closed due to lava flow, fires, smoke, and destruction from massive earthquakes. And even when the cell phone alert went out to take shelter when the missile was launched toward Hilo. They gave everyone 15 minutes to find shelter... 15 minutes! Wonder what the people at Costco thought?
The US has never had a war on land in our country. Something like this is inconceivable to the majority of the population. Especially those people living in cities/high density population areas and suburbia.
People in the rural areas are more prepared. Especially if they are in areas with mountain lions, bears, predators that go after live stock and may depend upon hunting to supplement their food for the winter.
Those who live in colder climates are even more prepared due to a variety of weather conditions where survival depends upon knowing how to keep safe.

Schumann resonance is a measurement that tracks the electromagnetic frequency of our planet within the ionosphere. This energy, circling as a wave between the ionosphere and the earth, bumps into itself amplifying frequencies and turning them into resonant waves. The discovery of these resonant waves was made in 1952 by W.O. Schumann, a German physicist, hence where the Schumann resonance gets its name.
In simpler terms, we don’t live on the earth, we live inside it – in a cavity of sorts. This cavity is created by the connection of the surface of the earth to the ionosphere that surrounds our planet. Everything within that area, namely energies and frequencies, can be influential to the earth’s inhabitants (learningmind.com).

Nearly half of urban cities in China are sinking and 270 million people are in danger. 45% Chinese cities are sinking faster than 3 mm per year. While 16% of China's urban areas are sinking faster than 10 mm per year. The figures seem small but in 100 years, a quarter of China's coastal land will sit below sea level. This decline in elevation is increasing the risk of natural disasters and land collapse. Why is this happening? Mainly because China is sinking under the weight of infrastructure. And rampant groundwater pumping is simply increasing the speed of the process. What can be done about it? What has President Xi Jinping done so far? Which other nations are sinking? India faces another issue sand quarrying at alarming levels at major River beds. Especially sand mafia in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra are the worst. The sand quarrying causes the ground water not get recharged. ==

The "seismic wave" which I discovered moves along this path every week like a flood going down a river or a wave in a wave tank.

GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH (G1): Multiple CMEs left the sun in the past 24 hours, mostly on a trajectory south of Earth. If even one of them grazes Earth's magnetic field, it could spark a G1-class geomagnetic storm. The most likely impact dates are April 25th and 26th.
A SUPER-SYMPATHETIC SOLAR FLARE: Four solar flares at once? Believe it. During the early hours of April 23rd, NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory watched four regions on the sun separated by hundreds of thousands of kilometers explode simultaneously.
The quadruple blast included three sunspots (small circles) and a magnetic filament (big circle). This is called a "sympathetic solar flare." Sympathetic flares are pairs of explosions that occur almost simultaneously in different active regions. The widely-separated regions appear to be unrelated to one another but, in fact, they are linked by nearly-invisible magnetic loops in the sun's corona. This allows instabilities to rapidly travel from one to another, creating a chain reaction of explosions.
Today's sympathetic flare was not a simple pair but a full-fledged quartet, making it super-sympathetic. So much of the sun was involved, it's likely that at least some of the debris will be Earth-directed.

Taal is a Volcanic Monster; Recent Eruption Nearly Reached Manila Taal's largest known explosive eruption which occurred only 6,000 years ago devastated an area of 5,000 square kilometers. That marks the scope of the area incinerated by pyroclastic flows, which traveled as 67 kilometers from its source and nearly reached the land which southern Manila is built upon. This eruption, as detailed in a recently published scientific paper which this video will be analyzing also noted that 3 other large caldera forming eruptions occurred in the last 6,000 years. With 4 known VEI 6 or larger eruptions during that timeframe, the Taal volcano is truly a volcanic monster. ==
