    This whole situation really stresses the mental comprehension capabilities. I am having difficulty with the logic of over 2000 unaccounted children in a town of 12,000 people. Considering parents in this equation we are taking about maybe 4000 unaccounted for, one third of the population. These people all have extended families, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends…. And yet we can’t get details other than a claim of over 2000 missing children.

    Also, I know it is difficult to accept that people will sit in their car and die but there is study after study showing humans will sit in a perceived burning building, just because a perceived authority told them too. There is even a real world event in London where many people died in a restaurant fire just waiting to pay their bill, because that is the pattern of human behavior.

    And yes, we know that humans will carry out their directives and orders, to the point of killing other humans, not just evidenced by the nazis but the Milgram experiment shows it over and over.

    I know this kind of thought is not really appreciated in this kind of forum, and it seems to me something strange happened in Maui, but calm rationality is in need and in short supply.

    "Locals are being denied their property insurance b/c after Green passed that Emergency Declaration Related to Housing, he suspended zoning laws and historical preservation (which is exactly what Lahaina was) so they essentially rezoned everyone's property from residential to commercial to solve the housing crisis. Essentially commercial would include high rise apartment buildings which is the ultimate goal for Maui, to make it the first 15 min smart city.

    it's just baffling how a state of emergency declaration can trump your home owners insurance given it's contractual and legally binding.
