The Solstice: June 21, 2022, 5:14 am EDT.
Imagine you are swinging, soaring high in the air.

As you ascend to the top of your arc, time stands still.

You hover in place, released from the limitations of space and time.

It is exhilarating, this hesitating at the extreme edge of existence.

The longest day, the brightest light, the simmering heat
– the shortest day, the deepest dark, the bone chilling cold.

This is the Solstice, when our senses are aligned with Gaia,
defined by the relationship between Sun, Earth, Space and Time.

Go within, become one with this experience,
feel the thrill of your ordinary consciousness dissolved away
by something much larger than yourself.

Time loses its definition and this moment becomes infinite.

Listen for a message, something just for you that speaks
of what you are to do in the months ahead.

What needs your attention, what wants to grow within you
and emerge in its right timing?

You have gone as far as you can go in one direction.

Now you hover in place, soon you will slowly begin to swoop
though the arc back into the darkness, the light, the light, the darkness.

This is Duality – the mysterious core of this dimensional reality
– alive in our bodies and in our sensory perception.

There is a rhythm here, a constant drumming that beats
in the body of Gaia and her children.

This rhythm is the Pulse of Life,
and together we create the Dance of Earth.

The sun will appear to standstill during these 3 days
that are surrounding The Solstice.


The ancient cultures marked this Passage of Time
by creating a door or Sun House in which the Sun could rest before reversing its direction at the southern maximum and heading back to the north for Winter Solstice in arch. of buildings.


In Northern Arizona there are sites created by indigenous tribes
in The Red Rock walls that mark this important ritual turning point.

We also have a very rare lineup of planets
last time was 05 March 1864...

which will be visible in the dawn sky
with five planets as they are in their respective orbits...

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter & Saturn

which will create an arc across the sky from
east-northeast to almost due south
about a half hour before the sunrise.

The Moon marks Earth's position
in this lineup from 23 to 25 June 2022
which will produce an exceptionally rare configuration.

The last time this kind of alignment
occurred was back on March 5, 1864.

Happy Summer Solstice!
I went out to the world's largest sundial to capture it on the only day that it tells accurate time.
(Tomorrow I'll share a cool timelapse video showing the shadow move but my computer is slow
and it's going to take another 12 hours to process it! )

The Sundial Bridge in my hometown of Redding California in the US has a single support tower
that is 217 feet tall and aligned due North.

On the Summer Solstice it casts a shadow so that it aligns perfectly on a 250 foot curve set
with markers that give the exact time at 15 minute increments between 11 AM and 3 PM Pacific Daylight Time.
Since the shadow is so long the tip of the shadow ends up moving at about 1 foot per minute and is pretty fun to watch.

One week ago before today's Summer Solstice,
Michael captured this electrifying moment at the Circus Art Farm
as the Full Strawberry Moon rises into Sagittarius in full illumination
over our fireside gathering at the Circus Art Farm, on 21 June 2022.
Tonight at midnight and at half strength, Luna rises above
in perfect Last Quarter Moon phase while our Solar Solstice Clock
stills for a moment as the sun reverses its path northward.
It seems to me that The Sun is the big “I am” goggles
that we wear to experience life and express our individuality.
May you all find trust in your intuitions and be blessed
with Aquarian abundance this midsummer season and beyond.

Winter Solstice Southern Hemisphere
21 June at 5.14 pm AWST Perth- 7.14 pm AEST Sydney, NSW, Australia

When the Sun enters 00 degrees of a Cardinal Sign it opens a doorway
into a Sacred Direction of the Medicine Wheel.

This morning in the Northern Hemisphere when the Sun entered the sign of Cancer
we entered the South Direction of our Medicine Wheel.

It is the place of curiosity, expansion, growth and learning to listen
to our Inner Knowing and its guidance.

The Guardian of the South is Coyote, The Trickster.

He teaches us to be flexible, adaptable, and have fun.

When he tricks us it is because we are taking ourselves too seriously.

Coyote asks “are you having fun yet?”

In the Southern Hemisphere you have entered the North Direction of your Medicine Wheel.

It is the place of introspection and translating knowledge into wisdom,
becoming the Wisdom Keeper.

The Guardians for your North Direction are Buffalo, gratitude for the abundance in your life,
and Whale, who teaches you to sing your own unique song.

As you connect within you discover your true power.

The planetary dance on this turning of the Wheel is the same for all of us.

The Sun in Cancer is our roots, origins, and our connection to Ancestral Wisdom.

It is the family we come from and the family we have created.

But I have always seen Cancer as the Wounded Child.

That is a strong signature in this Solstice Chart.

The Moon at 03 degrees Aries (emotional response)
and Jupiter at 06 degrees Aries (expansion of our spiritual consciousness)
are travelling together (new inspired beginnings).

The Moon is the ruler of Cancer and Jupiter is the spiritual guide.

They are in Square aspect to the Sun (motivation for change
and finding new ways of doing things).

Aries carries the wound of rejection, betrayal, and abandonment.

This is the opportunity for healing and creating that new beginning.

The Moon/Jupiter are sextile (new opportunities)
Mercury at 07 degrees Gemini (creating our new story and uniting in love).

Chiron at 16 degrees Aries (healing) is travelling with Mars
at 20 degrees Aries (healing anger issues).

They are Square (motivation for change) Ceres at 15 degrees Cancer
(healing our mother wounds and healing Mother Earth).

Neptune at 25 degrees Pisces is the Soul Centered ruler of the Sun in Cancer.
Neptune (illumination) is sextile (new understanding)
the North Node at 21 degrees Taurus (new directions)
Pallas Athene at 23 degrees Taurus (wise action)
and Venus at 28 degrees Taurus (what is of true value and importance in our lives).

Pluto Rx at 28 degrees Capricorn (transformation and breaking free of limitation)
is trine the Taurus planets (removal of obstacles)
and sextile Neptune (freeing your spirit).

But I have said many times the universe likes to throw us a curve ball.

In traditional astrology we are taught to fear the square aspect.

But I resonate with Astrologer Bernadette Brady’s definition of the Square.

Motivation for change and finding new ways of doing things.

Saturn Rx (reframing society and structure)
is at 25 degrees Aquarius (the Collective Consciousness)
and square all the Taurus planets and creates a T Square (breaking out of the box)
with the South Node at 21 degrees Scorpio
(healing past wounds and experiencing transformation and rebirth).

This is the theme for this Solstice activation.

While the Sun is in Cancer (until July 22) our Animal Totem guide is Flicker Woodpecker
who guides us through life’s transitions with All Healing Love.

The astrological Earth is in Capricorn guided by Snow Goose, following your dreams and vision.

They are reversed for the Southern Hemisphere.

The Clan Mother for the Sun in Cancer is Loves All Things.

She is the Guardian of Unconditional Love and Compassion for all life.

She guides The Magical Child within. The Clan Mother for the Earth in Capricorn is Talks With Relations.

She is the maker of relations and the Mother of the Planetary Family.

She teaches us to enter the Sacred Space of others with respect and to honour all life.

As I was finishing this post the Solstice Sun was setting.

The Sky was ablaze with the most brilliant red.
