This doesn't even get to the acidic inbalance that takes place. For those that have researched the importance of keeping your body ph above 7 and in an alkaline position, coke has a ph of 2 and it takes a tremendous amount of alkaline foods and drink to conteract this.

How exactly did so many of us come to be pouring an acidic liquid called Coke down our throats over and over each day? And what kind of effect is this acid drink having on our digestion?

Short of drinking straight vinegar, cola is about the most acidic thing you can buy to drink. Coke has a pH of around 2.5 (testing seems to come up with results ranging from 2.3 to 3.5 but a pH of 2.5 is commonly cited for regular Coke).

Of course Coke is only an example to which we can add all the other soft drinks and refined food.
Even before the GMOs appeared we were already being poisoned.

Over the last 30 years I have been witness of a surge for organic food here in belgium.
It even got into some of our supermarkets.
A good sign.
Still a long way to go though to tip the balance the other way around.
