TBILISI — Police in ex-Soviet Georgia have been left guessing by the mysterious disappearance of two shepherds with their entire flock of 600 sheep, the Rezonansi newspaper reported Thursday.
Police failed to find any trace of the two shepherds, brothers Koba and Sulkhan Arabuli, who vanished with their dogs and the sheep on Sunday near the village of Akhalsopeli on Georgia's border with Azerbaijan, the newspaper reported.
Many rural communities in Georgia continue to use traditional methods for rearing sheep, with shepherds guiding their flocks through pastures and mountains on journeys that can sometimes take weeks or months.
