    Is reality just an illusion? How we perceive the world is based on what our brains expect to see, claims theory

    Most scientists believe reality is based on information gathered from our senses
    But controversial research suggests our perception of reality may be an illusion
    Instead how we see the world could be based on what our brains predict to see
