Three proteins – LYVE1, REG1A and TFF1 – were observed at significantly elevated levels in the urine samples produced by pancreatic cancer patients. Levels of the proteins were found to be much lower in the patients with chronic pancreatitis. [1]
Researchers were able to use their findings to diagnose stage 1 and 2 pancreatic cancer in urine samples with more than 90% accuracy. The non-invasive, inexpensive test could save many more lives. [1]
