Edward Snowden says Australia undertaking 'dangerous' mass surveillance of citizens; criticizes metadata laws  http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-05-08/edward-snowden-says-australias-mass-surveillance-dangerous/6456938

Whistleblower Edward Snowden has entered the debate over Australia's new metadata laws, saying Australia has joined other countries in undertaking mass surveillance of its citizens.

Speaking at a Progress 2015 conference in Melbourne via satellite from Moscow, where he has sought asylum, Mr Snowden said Australia's role in government surveillance resembled monitoring in the UK.

"Australia's role in mass surveillance around the world is similar to the UK and the Tempora program, which is what's called a rolling internet proffer," he said.

"Basically they use local authorities such as this metadata program that's been passed in Australia to collect everyone's communications in advance of criminal suspicion."

While acknowledging that governments must take steps to protect people from terrorism, he said the sort of metadata collection programs being operated by governments were at odds with free Western society.

    "This is dangerous," he said.

"This is not things that governments have ever traditionally been empowered to claim for themselves as authorities.

"And to have that change recently ... is a radical departure from the operation of traditional liberal societies around the world."

In March, the Federal Government's data retention laws were passed. They require telecommunications companies to retain their customers phone and computer metadata for two years.

"What this means is they are watching everybody all the time. They're collecting information and they're just putting it in buckets that they can then search through not only locally, not only in Australia, but they can then share this with foreign intelligences services.

"They can trawl through this information in the same way. Whether or not you're doing anything wrong you're being watched."

Metadata collection won't prevent terrorism: Snowden

Australia is controlled by the friends of Murdoch in Sydney eastern suburbs . Today there is a situation in Australia that is worse than in the USA . The population has been disarmed following the false flag event
called " Port Arthur massacre " . Mossad and ASIO spies are infiltrated in every section of the community , the ABC , the High Schools , the Universities , the Medical system and hospitals , the lawyers , the Justice system is rigged and the political system is owned by the CABAL . It doesn't make any difference voting LABOR or Liberal the policies are the same . When Obongo rings Canberra and asks Abbott to jump , the answer is " How High Sir  ? " .
AT the time of the Vietnam war there was a saying " All the way wilt LBJ "  now things have changed minimally " all the way with Obongo " .
There is a lingering huge scandal in OZ about the former Chief Justice of the High Court that has a fake family background and knew in advance of 30 years that one day he would become the Chief Justice of the High Court . ASIO is still active in appointing members of certain families to the judiciary eventually their brilliant career will be manipulated to the top . And then there is the stalled High Treason action against prominent politicians for what happened in Westerns Australia .
See the thread " Escape from Australia " .

I'm not surprised enemyofNWO. Time travel by the secret government has been around since the 40s and Poppy George Bush has been active in it since the 60s where he had access to who all the presidents of the US years in advance including Obama. He personally communicated to me he planned on having Jeb Bush run for president (this was back when George Jr was in his first presidency). As you can see they have the upper hand on who runs and grooms them years in advance before they ever make it into politics. So yes, it is a sad sorry state that we have to witness as these corrupt politicians are rolled out in control of what is going on in various nations throughout the world year after year.

Perhaps this is why some people actually look forward to global earth changes.. hoping for some positive change as a result.

Between Spymasters and People, says Snowden, 'Power Beginning to Shift'

'We are witnessing the emergence of a post-terror generation,' writes the NSA whistleblower,
"one that rejects a worldview defined by a singular tragedy.' by Jon Queally, staff writer

"Yet the balance of power is beginning to shift," he concludes. "We are witnessing the emergence of a post-terror generation,
one that rejects a worldview defined by a singular tragedy. For the first time since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, we see the
outline of a politics that turns away from reaction and fear in favor of resilience and reason. With each court victory, with
every change in the law, we demonstrate facts are more convincing than fear. As a society, we rediscover that the value of
a right is not in what it hides, but in what it protects." —Edward Snowden.
