Dispersants Cause Cell Death, DNA Damage
Gulf Oil Platform Explosion and Spill - Page 36 Corexit_9500a

“We’re more concerned about the dispersant and the dispersant mixed with oil–the dispersed oil, if you will–than we are about the crude oil itself.”

Tests conducted in recent months by[University of Southern Maine Center for Toxicology and Environmental Health director John] Wise’s lab, using human cell lines, show that dispersants cause cell death and DNA damage, which has been linked to cancer and reproductive problems.'

Anyone else noticing a trend here lately?

    Dispersant cause DNA damage.

Today, out of an abundance of caution, NOAA has closed 4,213 square miles of Gulf of Mexico federal waters off Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama to royal red shrimping. The precautionary measure was taken after a commercial shrimper, having hauled in his catch of the deep water shrimp, discovered tar balls in his net.

Matt Smith At Seattle University Forum: Gulf DISASTER

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYYIzt1XVWE&feature=player_embedded

This is Matt Smith's speech on the gulf oil disaster. BP, with the help of federal officials, has paid off scientists, covered up thousands of sick citizens, and destroyed the Gulf seafood industry.

The American people need to stand together and demand that BP be held accountable for their actions. An entire ecosystem has been destroyed by a foreign company yet our government and mainstream media stand idly by, pretending that the situation is over.

Very shaky audio at times but important information to say the least. Sometimes when technical difficulties arise you have to turn to your hand held camera:)

    SEATTLE, WASHINGTON – NOVEMBER 20TH, 2010
Leading Gulf BP Oil Spill Activists To Hold Urgent Forum on Possible Upcoming Consequences to Seattle Coast.
Project Gulf Impact, one of the Gulf of Mexico’s leading watchdog and activist groups covering the BP Oil Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico will be holding an interactive public forum and exhibit at Seattle University on Saturday, November 20th, 2010 at 3PM. The group, founded by Matt Smith, Gavin Garrison, and Heather Rally, created a firestorm of controversy six months ago when they invented the model for the next generation of activism. Combining filmmaking, interactive online news coverage, and the creation of a non profit aid center, Project Gulf Impact quickly gained success for exposing the lies and cover up related to the BP Oil Spill.
Nationally recognized and respected, Project Gulf Impact continues to expose the truth and consequences of the largest man made catastrophe in history. Project Gulf Impact is revealing a different reality: the spill was just the beginning. With zero transparency from government and non-government agencies regarding the magnitude of the disaster, the question remains: what is really going on? Severe illness, environmental devastation, and pending economic collapse after only seven months, the consequences of this disaster are spreading far beyond the Gulf, and are happening before our very eyes.

    Seattle University
Project Gulf Impact will reveal the startling truth about what the next 18 months holds for the oceans of our country – on all coasts. They are holding the exhibition on November 20th, 2010 to spread awareness about what could be affecting residents of Seattle in the very near future. With never before seen documentation, footage, and information, this forum is one not to be missed. In conjunction with speeches, the forum will be an interactive walk-through expo with artwork, never before seen photographs, video footage, and information on the truth. There will be catered food, real new Orleans jazz music, a silent auction, and fundraiser to benefit residents of the Gulf coast. Suggested entry fee at the door is five dollars. Those interested in donating to families affected by the spill and Project Gulf Impact’s continued work and coverage in the Gulf of Mexico may make donations at the event.

Snow is expected to blanket Britain today with no part of the country escaping the big freeze.
London, the South East and the Midlands, which had until now largely escaped the worst of the severe weather, are all likely to be covered by up to two inches of snow, forecasters have warned.
Siberian winds will make it feel as cold as -12c in some areas, in what is already the coldest November for a quarter of a century.

The Gulf of Mexico is Dying - A Special Report on the BP Gulf Oil Spill
    December 1, 2010
    By Dr. Tom Termotto

It is with deep regret that we publish this report. We do not take this responsibility lightly, as the consequences of the following observations are of such great import and have such far-reaching ramifications for the entire planet. Truly, the fate of the oceans of the world hangs in the balance, as does the future of humankind.

The Gulf of Mexico (GOM) does not exist in isolation and is, in fact, connected to the Seven Seas. Hence, we publish these findings in order that the world community will come together to further contemplate this dire and demanding predicament. We also do so with the hope that an appropriate global response will be formulated, and acted upon, for the sake of future generations. It is the most basic responsibility for every civilization to leave their world in a better condition than that which they inherited from their forbears.

After conducting the Gulf Oil Spill Remediation Conference for over seven months, we can now disseminate the following information with the authority and confidence of those who have thoroughly investigated a crime scene. There are many research articles, investigative reports and penetrating exposes archived at the following website. Particularly those posted from August through November provide a unique body of evidence, many with compelling photo-documentaries, which portray the true state of affairs at the Macondo Prospect in the GOM.

Thank You Tran. This is very sad . We could see it coming but now we are facing the accomplished fact.
Because it is a direct blow on so many species in our ecosystem I have pain in my heart .
The very little we have been able to do in response to the Gulf's assault makes this
orchastrated plague one of the worst hardships that 's been inflicted on Mother Earth and
    its hosts since Hiroshima imo.
We were left powerless against the tons of Corexit and other toxic brew that have been
    killing the Gulf daily .
To me this is the paroxysm of what greed and inhumanity breed .
The human race has to stand up, remove it's blinders and say No.Not in riots and blood but from that point of sanity that shows you clearly what is good for life and what needs to be changed if we want it to go on and flourish.

Gulf Oil Platform Explosion and Spill - Page 36 Empty Re: Gulf Oil Platform Explosion and Spill

Post  lawlessline Thu Dec 02, 2010 7:54 am

Just posted this on the earth changes thread but it all to do with here so thought it would be good to post on this thread.

The slowing of the gulf stream is not just a BP thing and I am not convinced that it could stop the gulf stream.

    Think of it this way.

The Magnetic field of the Earth is reducing, this is because the suns heliosphere is doing the same. Our solar system is heading through a very condensed part of our Galaxcy.

So whats the gulf stream got to do with it, and BP?

Well due to this compression the Geomagnetic Lines are also loosing their grip on the planets surface. This is having the effect of slowing things down. When we slow things down the seasons reduce from four to 2.5. This intern reduces sea displacements through warmer waters. Cold water mooves with the Geomagnetic lines better.

So if they knew that this was coming and the Gulf stream was going to slow, therefore taking the Gulf Loop out because of its slowing. To kick start the system again, you would have to super charge the Gulf, a bit like jump starting the car.In its natural state. The gulf loop is actually a way of cooling the flow before it hits northern europe. Otherwise it would melt the Icesheets way too quickly. The G.O.M. has hot tropical waters, but that is because it is a temperature dumping or regulator.

The BP oil spill would be the best way to do thisusing killer corex to keep the oil there and heat the waters.

Yeah they would kill loads of creatures and run the risk of killing the gulf, having huge hurricans, increase desert zones in land, and displace huge amounts of people, whilst all the time calling for laws on global warming.

I think the world, as complex as it is would not allow one chink in its armour to be able to drop the whole system. This sort of thing would of happen naturally with underground volcanoes, or oil volcnoes. So I think it would always have an effect, but earth desired effect for the time. The difference here is that it was not created by nature.

This reminds me of the Chemtrails. They are spraying poisons into the air to combat global warming. I do not doubt that they also have another use for the Chems. But, the point is, is that it is not the earth doing this. She wants a change of position. SHe is restless the way in which she has been clothed. We should help her change rather than try and keep her where we want. She will only get peeved very quickly.

So the Gulf thing is terrible and shouldn't have been done. But equally, I think there is more to the mechanics than that.If they did that to stop the gulf stream, and it came out? They would not be able to slither their way out of it. This way they can do both ways. Claim eviromental protection in stupidity and if no one notices, then get the global reduction on the other hand without causing alarm. For them a real Win Win situation. That will always be the situation that is presented. Double headed coin I am affraid.

3 Injured In Gulf Oil Rig Explosion
No Status Immediately Available On Condition Of Rig

    December 1, 2010

NEW ORLEANS -- Three people were injured -- two badly burned -- in an oil rig explosion Wednesday in Bayou Perot, La., WDSU in New Orleans reported.
The U.S. Coast Guard received a report at about 10:15 a.m. Central time, that three people were injured on the rig, which is roughly 20 miles south-southeast of New Orleans, Petty Officer Thomas Blue of the Coast Guard told the New Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper.
There was no immediate status report on the condition of the rig, said Kenneth L. Padgett, director of Jefferson Parish emergency management, WDSU reported.
The news came on the same day that the Obama administration said it will maintain a long-standing oil drilling ban in the Gulf of Mexico off Florida.
The administration considered loosening it before the BP spill, a senior administration official told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Earthquake Activity in Gulf of Mexico Prompts 2003 Study for MMS
Posted on August 24, 2010 by Steve Drinkard

Part 1: Seismic Risk Questioned As Deep Water Development Increases

The Gulf of Mexico (GOM) is not known for its earthquake activity; however, a number of earthquakes ranging between 3.0 and 4.9 on the Richter scale caused enough concern for Mineral Management Services (MMS) to engage in a 2003 study of the likely performance of subsea oil production assets during small earthquakes. The Gulf region is classified as Zone 0 for seismic risk. This means that all shallow and deepwater development of crowded subsea structures including oil rigs and pipelines have not been designed or constructed to withstand earthquake activity.

Gulf of Mexico Subsea Structures May Be in Seismic Danger Zone
Posted on August 27, 2010 by Steve Drinkard

Part 2: Large 2006 Earthquakes of 6.0 and 5.2 Magnitude Strike the Gulf of Mexico–Unidentified Oil Rig Feels Shaking — Epicenter Relocated in Green Canyon

In 2003, the Mineral Management Service ordered an assessment of seismic activity in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM), which we discussed in Part 1 of this series. There was concern then whether oil production assets appeared to be in the path of increasing seismic risks. Now, within approximately three years of that study, two more larger earthquakes strike in the GOM. Let’s take a look at the history of those 2006 earthquakes.

The larger of the two earthquakes hit in September 2006. It shook a broad area and received significant public notice. The slightly smaller, but more threatening of the two occurred in February 2006. Its epicenter was in oil rich Green Canyon. It was the one that stirred the most attention from the oil industry. The concern remains identifying the extent of the threat posed by seismic events in the GOM oil producing region. Will continued development risk increased danger to our environment?

On September 11, 2006 the news-wires were reporting a 6.0 magnitude earthquake that had struck in the Gulf of Mexico the day before. The U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) summary of the event reported a strong earthquake located 250 miles south-southwest of Apalachicola, Florida at 8:56 a.m. MDT on September 10, 2006. The earthquake shook hard enough to knock items from shelves and created seismic disturbances of oscillating waves appearing in swimming pools in parts of Florida. Numerous cities in Florida felt the shaking. The strength of the event was substantial for the GOM. USGS received reports that it was “felt” in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Other areas outside of the United States that reported feeling the earthquake were The Bahamas and Cancun and Merida, Mexico. There were no reports of serious damage or casualties.

BP Slick: A Special Report on the BP Gulf Oil Spill
Posted on December 3, 2010 by Steve Drinkard

    The Big Cover Up On

This blog has been continuously the site of articles and reports of the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. This disaster is not over. The consequences are not fully known. The risks are great that additional catastrophic events will occur if the oil industry is not controlled. Indeed the operations in deep water are not safe. The planet is in peril while the corporate domination of our politics worldwide does nothing significant to change the way we are conducting ourselves toward the needs of the life sustaining ability of the planet. Accordingly, I post the link to more important information here. The excerpt below comes from the article:

Especially that the BP narrative is nothing but a corporate-created illusion – a web of fabrication spun in collaboration with the US Federal Government and Mainstream Media. Big Oil, as well as the Military-Industrial Complex, have aided and abetted this whole scheme and info blackout because the very future of the Oil & Gas Industry is at stake, as is the future of the US Empire which sprawls around the world and requires vast amounts of hydrocarbon fuel.

via BP Slick: A Special Report on the BP Gulf Oil Spill/
    http://bpoilslick.blogspot.com/2010/12/special-report-on-bp-gulf-oil-spill.html

If you have not been a previous reader of this blog, you may not have seen the three previous posts on this site of the little known seismic threat in the Gulf of Mexico. In fact

GOM 4,000 Active Oil & Gas Platforms - NOAA 6-8-10
there was such concern over increasing earthquake activity in the region of oil production that a 2003 study was performed by the government on the ability of the oil infrastructure to withstand earthquake forces. The first article posted here talks about those findings. The second part in the series reports on two larger earthquakes in 2006 and unusual difficulties in settling on the epicenter of one of them striking in the heart of BP’s Atlantis oil production location. The government actually published a very unusual change in the location moving the epicenter further away from BP’s oil production using in part BP data of the seismic event that was not even calibrated for recording such information. In the third article, the theory of Jack Reed is published explaining his belief that the Gulf is seismically active and connect to the New Madrid earthquakes centered in the midwest continental United States. This potential constitutes major implications for the future of the Gulf and in the world.

This site will continue to follow developments in the Gulf of Mexico.

Submarine Dive Finds Oil, Dead Sea Life at Bottom of Gulf of Mexico
Though Region is Healing, Damage From BP Spill Persists on Ocean Floor, Scientists Say

    Dec. 3, 2010

A mile below the surface in the Gulf of Mexico, there is little sign of life.

"It looks like everything's dead," University of Georgia professor Samantha Joye said.

In an exclusive trip aboard the U.S. Navy's deep-ocean research submersible Alvin, ABC News was given the chance to observe the impact of this summer's massive oil spill that most will never see.

The ocean floor appears to be littered with twigs, but Joye points out that they are actually dead worms and that Alvin is sitting on top of what is considered an 80-square mile kill zone.

Victory on off shore drilling cheers

Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar announced that there will be NO new offshore drilling off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts or in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico for the next five years.

This is a big victory for our oceans and our environment and it would not have been possible without the tens of thousands of environmental activists who’ve joined forces to prevent further offshore drilling and oil spills this fall.

The result of these efforts is a positive step away from the dangers of offshore drilling and towards cleaner and safer alternative sources of energy.

The Administration had previously indicated support for exploration in the Atlantic Ocean, as well as in the Eastern Gulf. However, they have now proposed a 5 year ban on new drilling. In addition, they’ve also announced the start of a new process to reconsider drilling in the Arctic’s Beaufort Sea, building on President Obama’s commitment to science and preparedness.
