    It appears that the only hedge against this is taking ones cash and purchasing gold and silver. Both are currently dropping in price so it's a good time to get them. Silver is the poor man's gold. Another hedge is the Iraq Dinar. Owning dinar is also a hedge against inflation as it can always be turned back in for the price it was purchased at. In addition it is expected to revalue at a much higher rate in the very near future. One million dinar is about one thousand dollars.

    Sure thats good advice Carol, but what if they come and confiscate the "precious metals"? Make it illegal for National security? Pathetic....

    They can't confiscate what is minted outside of the US and before 1933 within the US. Also being a precious metal makes it easier to hide or spend. I know when we bought gold coins years ago I used them to purchase different items and gave it as gifts to the kids. Also, almost all of the gold and silver we've purchase in the past was through private parties so there is no public record of the sales. Then there also private banks with safe deposit boxes where it can be stored or just bury a plumbing tube capped at each end somewhere. One can also have an account and safe deposit box outside of the US.
