The federal response to Hurricane Helene has been ridiculed at a level that has never been seen before. Social media has helped to wake up that average American citizen to the fact that we are not a priority. Prepping is one of our only solutions. It was X9.0 in GOES X-ray measurement. It was quite eruptive, leaving a coronal wave. The eruption/CME seemed to result from magnetic reconnection rather than ideally from a pre-existing flux rope. As bad as this is looking to be for the state, I feel that most, if not all, people in Florida are not going to mess around with this after just having a landfall of Major Hurricane Helene.
Unfortunately, some areas were so damaged from Helene that many Floridians don't have a choice but to already be out of Milton's Path.
All we can do is watch and pray it affects the least amount of people as possible.
