(EMP) event could happen during the April 8 total solar eclipse Empty (EMP) event could happen during the April 8 total solar eclipse

Post  Carol Sat Apr 06, 2024 6:34 pm

(Natural News)—A retired United States Air Force (USAF) general warned that an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) event could happen during the April 8 total solar eclipse.

Retired USAF Brig. Gen. Blaine Holt made this statement during a recent interview with “Inspired” channel host Jean Nolan.

“I’m getting from a couple of places that there is a potential over the next few weeks, and I can’t co-locate it with April 8. But there is a possibility that somewhere in our nation, there’s going to be an EMP or electromagnetic pulse event,” Holt told Nolan.

“Now, you could conveniently if that were to happen along that path of the solar eclipse. Well, then you might have a government that explains that away as saying, oh, this solar eclipse was like no other,” Holt continued. “We’ve had a solar flare storm because we’ve been marinated in that news story over the past four years that oh, solar flares are just around the corner, and these are bad, and it could wipe out your electronics. Well, in reality, that is true if it’s the right kind and if it’s exactly the right type. We haven’t seen that since I think the mid-1800s.”

North America will experience a total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, beginning at around 11:07 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Mexico’s Pacific coast. From there, the eclipse will then take a path through the U.S., crossing – in order of appearance – Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

The eclipse will also be visible from small parts of Tennessee and Michigan. After Maine, the eclipse will continue north through Canada in southern Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and, finally Cape Breton.

Holt added that physicists are also warning people about the Schumann resonance, which are frequencies that could bring about humanity losing everything.

He pointed out the federal government is warning Americans about these things and telling them to take action could only mean that they have to do it because the government knows something people don’t know about.

A possible EMP event must not be taken for granted

Holt said the potential for an EMP event must not be taken for granted and every American must have preparatory steps for taking care of their own families and their communities. (Related: EMP survival: 4 Ways to protect your home from an EMP attack.)

He stressed that people should not remove the EMP threat from the list of things they need to worry about.

Holt also advised people to do research and get protection against an EMP attack by having cost-effective devices like a Faraday can.

Many things could happen in the event of an EMP wave, and protecting electronics from the pulse through devices like a Faraday cage could help people manage.

Nolan said these are strange times and the messaging, warnings, disaster declarations and state emergencies in various states are inconsistent with history and any potential danger that a solar eclipse could pose.

Holt noted that there are a ton of guides online on how to create Faraday-like devices for people strapped for cash and time that will allow them to weather the storm. He then added that valuable electronics should be the priority for these cages, like smartphones, wires, batteries and other electronics people may need.

(EMP) event could happen during the April 8 total solar eclipse EMP-attack

EMP survival: Follow these tips to survive the first 72 hours after an EMP event

Electromagnetic pulses (EMPs) can have catastrophic and devastating effects on society. EMPs can be caused by natural sources like solar flares, also known as coronal mass injections (CMEs), or man-made sources like non-nuclear and nuclear weapons used by governments and terrorists alike.

Whatever the cause, EMP incidents could damage significant portions of the nation’s critical infrastructure, including the electrical grid, communications equipment, water and wastewater systems and transportation, explained the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

Follow these tips to survive the first three days after an EMP event:

    Have a plan
Prepare for an EMP event ahead of time by routinely practicing drills with your family to ensure that every member knows what to do if an EMP event happens at home, at school or at work. Have a transportation plan – such as having bicycles or other non-electric modes of transportation.

If you all have practiced your “survival” plan, you will have already put a survival plan into action, especially when caught in the city during the day when it happens. (Related: Skills, strategies and supplies you’ll need to prep for an EMP, solar flares.)

No one is looking forward to an event like this, but IF and WHEN it does happen, what you do during the first 72 hours after an EMP event is crucial and to boost your chances of survival, here are steps to immediately take.

    Stay calm
Assuming you practice preparedness, you know how important it is to stay calm and composed during a crisis. Stop where you are to get your bearing. Take deep breaths to calm your nerves, sit down to conserve your energy and think. Is there a way you can verify what has happened?

    Assess your situation
Use all your senses to observe and assess the impact of the EMP on your immediate surroundings to help you prioritize your next actions. Are there any immediate dangers? Do you have access to food, water and shelter? Understanding your situation will help you prioritize your actions. (Related: 12 Tips to survive an EMP attack.)

    Get home ASAP
If you’re not home when an EMP hits, consider finding a safe location to shelter until the immediate aftermath settles before you decide to go home. It is assumed that this safety action is known to all your family members as well whenever an emergency or disaster strikes.

Older model diesel vehicles with minimal electronics could survive an EMP event so make a move to get home before chaos happens and traffic piles up with roads clogged with abandoned vehicles.

If your car doesn’t work, be ready to abandon your vehicle, grab your get home bag  from your vehicle and start walking. Get to your children (if you have any) as soon as possible and head home.

When possible, stop at stores that are still open to buy essential supplies, even when you have these in your emergency survival stash at home – you can never have enough to use or barter these essential survival items, as needed.

Prioritize your safety. Avoid unnecessary risks. Stay vigilant of potential dangers. Be cautious around downed power lines, unstable structures and potential criminal activity.

    Secure your location
If you’re at home when an EMP event happens, you may need to initially stay indoors to avoid panicked crowds and avoid riots. (Related: EMP survival: 4 Ways to protect your home from an EMP attack.)

    1. Lock your doors and windows and reinforce them if necessary.
    2. Take your fire extinguisher with you (assuming you keep one or several in your home) and go around every nook and cranny in your home to check for electrical fires that may have resulted during the EMP event.
    3. Check all your electronics and separate those that still work from those that don’t.
    4. Once your home inspection is complete, go outside your house. Check your surrounding areas for scorched transformers, downed power lines, etc.
    5. Bug in until you have more information about what caused the EMP event. For instance, in case of a nuclear EMP attack, staying home will help you from the fallout to survive.
    6. Take stock of all your survival essentials (food, water, medicine, emergency gear, supplies, etc.) so you will know how to ration them in the next three days (or more).
    7. Keep informed and updated
8, A portable shortwave radio can receive broadcasts from stations in regions of the world that are still “up and running: and could be your information lifeline after an EMP event.

Theoretically – because there hasn’t been any real “hands-on experience,” you can protect a portable shortwave/AM/FM radio from an EMP by wrapping it in a non-conductive material.
Ensure that no metal part of your radio is exposed before you put it inside a zip lock bag where it fits. Then, firmly wrap the bag tight and well with aluminum foil. Repeat the process for even more protection before putting the now fully wrapped radio in yet another bag to protect its outer cover from tearing.

    Establish communications
Citizens band (CB) radios and ham radio sets with solid metal casings, which act like a Faraday cage for its internals, might surprisingly still work after an EMP event.

Keep your sets, including the antenna disconnected from the power grid UNTIL you intend to use them following an EMP event. This way, you protect them from the surge of EMP energy, which can cause irreparable damage and even a fire. Additionally, the antenna can provide an entry point for the EMP to enter and fry the radio’s internals.

As with CB and ham radios, walkie-talkies use simple, rugged technology that is not particularly vulnerable to the effects of an EMP. So, consider investing in those that run on batteries – whether disposable primary cells or rechargeable secondary cells that are not directly vulnerable to the effects of EMPs.

Always keep any dedicated survival communications equipment sets in a Faraday cage or other protective enclosure in your survival stash, including an adequate supply of batteries.

Connect and reach out to whoever is also looking to see how you can support each other and share information and resources. Use the information you gather to help you and your family decide if it is wiser to bug in or bug out to a safer location.

10 Things that will still work after an electromagnetic pulse attack
    https://naturalnews.com/2022-11-08-10-things-that-work-after-emp-attack.html

After an EMP attack, many of your devices, tools and vehicles will be unusable, unless they were specifically hardened or protected ahead of time. However, this is difficult to do, especially if you have many items that you use every day.

Alternatively, you can prepare for an EMP attack by learning what items will still work after an event like this. (h/t to ModernSurvivalOnline.com)

An EMP can be caused by a solar CME/Carrington type even or a high-altitude nuclear detonation or the deployment of a purpose-made EMP generator. This kind of disaster can plunge society back into the pre-industrial era by destroying electrical grids and any technology that runs on a circuit board.

Here are 10 useful preps to have on your homestead if you want to prepare for an EMP attack.

    Basic appliances
Most basic appliances that you use daily will continue to function after an EMP if they are not connected to the electrical grid. This includes older-model appliances like refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers.

Like with all electronics, if your appliance doesn't have a sophisticated control panel, you can probably still use it if it survives the initial surge of power after an EMP attack.

Basic appliances that you use every day like coffee makers can be run on solar panels so you don't have to go all in on non-electric replacements if you plan properly.

    Batteries
Note that almost all primary and secondary cells that you use regularly will survive an EMP if they are not on a charging dock that is connected to the electrical grid.

    Brighteon.TV

The casing of a battery itself acts like a Faraday cage that helps protect the electrolyte inside from the effects of an EMP. If the terminals do not complete a circuit, the dangerous current present during the event will not damage your batteries.

But batteries that are presently connected to vulnerable devices might be destroyed or damaged from the immediate effects of an EMP on its host device. Fortunately, you generally don’t have to worry about the batteries in your survival stockpile. (Related: How to prepare for an EMP strike.)

    Compasses
A traditional magnetic compass might be temporarily spoofed by an EMP, but it will return to normal function in the aftermath.

Even an extremely powerful EMP is usually not a sustained bombardment of electromagnetic energy so it will not permanently interfere with the polarity of the Earth’s magnetic field that a compass needs for proper orientation.

After some time, you can continue using your compass to find your way once the event is over.

    Flashlights and lanterns
After an EMP attack, you can still use regular flashlights whether or not it has batteries in them. The same goes for your electric and liquid-fueled lanterns.

These essential items can still be used to light the way at night during a long-term power outage.

When considering electric items and devices, it's best to choose incandescent versions of devices instead of modern LEDs.

    Manual tools
When preparing before SHTF, rest assured that you can keep using all your manual tools in the aftermath of an EMP even after your other electric tools and devices fail.

Tools that rely on humans or animals for power will still function after such an event, from hammers and saws for woodworking to more intricate tools like plows and mills on your homestead. If you're not sure, anything that is not dependent upon electricity before the event will still work after.

Before disaster strikes, stocking up on various manual tools that can supplement or replace the capability of your more modern tools is crucial for EMP preparedness.

Here are some manual tools that you can stock up on before disaster strikes:

    For your kitchen:

    Hand crank grain mill
Hand utensils (E.g., butter churn, cheese grater, ladles, measuring cups, measuring spoons, meat tenderizing hammer, potato masher, potato peeler, rolling pin, whisk, etc.)
    Manual can opener
    Percolator
    Tea kettle
    Solar dehydrator
    Solar oven
Water bath and pressure canning equipment for food preservation
    Wood cook stove

    For your tool shed:

    Auger
    Claw hammer
    Grinding wheel
    Hacksaw
    Hand drill
    Hand saw
    Hatchet
    Machete
    Multitool
    Pry bar
    Scythe
    Shovel
    Spade
    Mechanical pumps

While pumps are rarely used in modern society, they are absolutely necessary for a variety of industrial and residential settings. You can use a mechanical pump to move water, operate sprayers or siphon other fluids from a variety of vessels or holding tanks.

Depending on where you live and where you get your water, you may or may not be able to depend on tap water.

If the water stops flowing from the tap, having an alternative pumping system to supply your house is necessary post-EMP attack.

You should have a variety of pumps to handle various tasks like watering the garden or giving your livestock fresh water. You can also opt for larger pumps that can move huge volumes and are operated by generators.

    Mechanical watches and timers
Some timepieces don't require electricity to function. Other clocks also depend only on battery power.

After an EMP, you can still use clocks and precise timers for a variety of purposes, especially during a long-term bug-in scenario. Post-SHTF, you can keep track of the time using alarm clocks and wristwatches, and even something simple like a kitchen timer.

However, you may no longer be able to use battery-powered clocks or other timers that can also be plugged into a power outlet after an EMP event since anything connected to the grid will probably be toast.

    Most pre-1980 vehicles
If you want to prepare before an EMP event, keep in mind that typical motor vehicles will immediately and probably permanently be unusable after SHTF. This applies to modern cars that are full of computer chips, circuit boards and other delicate electronics.

Fortunately, other vehicles from several decades ago that don't rely on computers to operate can still get you places after an EMP.

Take note that the cutoff for generally reliable function post-EMP for domestic and foreign vehicles alike is around 1980 or so. If you can to still be able to use your cars after an EMP event, look for older car models.

    Power tools
Did you know that most power tools will work after an EMP?

Even battery-powered tools will still function, as long as you keep several things in mind.

The tool itself or the batteries must not be directly connected to the power grid when the EMP occurs. The batteries or tool may burn out the electric motor and render them useless.

Specialized tools that use an electronic control panel or a circuit board for power regulation will probably be useless after an EMP event even if they aren't connected to the grid.
Aside from these considerations, you can probably keep using electric- or gasoline-operated power tools in the aftermath of an EMP event.

    Solar panels
If you are looking for worthy SHTF investments, consider setting up solar panels on your homestead. To supply your household needs, you can get larger solar panels.

Alternatively, you can opt for smaller ones that can be used for charging smaller electronic devices like smartphones or flashlights.

Solar panels themselves are not directly vulnerable to the effects of an EMP, but you have to make sure they aren't connected to an electrical grid during the event itself.

The worst that will happen to solar panels after an EMP event is a tiny overall loss in efficiency. Make sure the solar array is properly set up so you can keep the electricity flowing post-EMP.

If you want to use solar panels for full-time or supplemental power in the house, take special steps to protect them from the surge of energy caused by an EMP.

Before SHTF, prep for an EMP event by getting tools that will still work post-EMP like manual tools, basic appliances and solar panels.
