Almost the exact date of last years Chile quake

    6.0 Quake Strikes Chile: http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/americas/02/27/chile.quake/index.html?hpt=T2
    4.7 Quake Strikes Arkansas: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/02/28/4-7-magnitude-earthquake-hits-central-arkansas/?hpt=T2

    gscraig wrote:http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/02/10/pennsylvania.explosion/index.html?hpt=T2

This is interesting to note for a couple of reasons. Last year a gas line blast occurred in Connecticut on February 7, beginning. a 6 month trend of gas line explosions. What , may be more revealing is the Chile earthquake that occurred on February 27, 2010. Now, if these Geo events are being influenced by an object in space sithin the Suns gravitational pull, then we should see a pattern based on that objects rotational pattern (granted the may change a bit). In other words, if we see another quake around the first of March then we can conclude that these events are happening in a specific window of time annually, due to where the space object is annually in comparison to the Earth.

Iceland goes into seismic convulsion- 400 earthquakes in 24 hours

    The Extinction Protocol

    2nd wave

February 27, 2011 - Iceland – After four days of continues earthquake activity it appears that Krísuvík volcano has stepped up it’s activity by a order of magnitude. Since midnight there have been over 400 earthquakes in Krísuvík volcano. The activity is continuing when this is written and does not show any signs of slowing down at this moment. Geologist in Iceland are expecting more earthquakes in this area over the next hours and even earthquakes that are larger then ML3.0 in size. The largest earthquakes where ML3.3 and ML3.7 in size. This is automatic size by the SIL system. The depth of the earthquakes was 4.7 km and 1.1 km according to the automatic SIL system. Due to high number of earthquakes the SIL system is putting earthquakes down all around the Reykjanes Peninsula. While there might be some earthquakes there, the number is not nearly as high as can be seen on the map. The earthquakes can be located by there low quality number. Given the location and how this earthquake swarm is behaving it is my opinion that this is due to a magma is pushing up the crust in this area. But it remains a question of this is going to start a eruption or not. But the chances are growing for as long as this earthquake pattern holds up in Krísuvík volcano. If a eruption starts in Krísuvík volcano it is going to one of Hawaii type eruption, unless it is under water then it is going to be explosive for as long there is water getting into the crater. Last time there was a eruption in this area a 25 km long eruption fissure did form. For now however all that can be done is to wait and see what happens. This earthquake swarm is going to continue for the next few hours and even days. The largest earthquakes can be seen on my geophone sensors here. -Jonfr.com

Update: According to the latest reports on Jon’s blog- about 800 quakes have struck the southern portion of Iceland along the Reykjanes Peninsula

    Hello All,

I've been thinking a bit here (I know, everybody run), and was thinking of the likelihood of animals being collected for preservation also along with the Seeds, in Svalbard amongst other things. What came to mind was the Bee Colony Collapse scenario. Surely, the Suns behavior would impact the bees, moreso navigationally. However, due to bees being required to pollenate, it would be extremely important for Bees to also be gathered and stored, no?

I need to research this along with some other things that came to mind, but figured I'd throw that out there.

    Good point Gscraig.
I found there exists another preservation vault than Svaldbard: NCGRP

The vault area at NCGRP is a separately constructed portion of the building, self-contained with its own air handling unit and electrical generator in case of emergency. It is able to withstand possible floods from nearby Horsetooth Reservoir, tornadoes, and the dropping of a 2500 pound object traveling at 125 miles per hour. The vaults have the capacity to store 1.5 million samples, 50% in conventional storage, and 50% in liquid nitrogen.

They run the following programs :

    * Plant Genetic Resources Preservation Program

    * National Animal Germplasm Program

    * Plant Germplasm Preservation Research

Cliff High excellent article about Earth Changes and 2011 / 2012 .

2012 – Doom ain't What It Used to Be.
    Preface about baldly bold statements.

    SNIP
This article is written for the cognoscenti...those in the know. There will be many statements that are made in this document that will require you to validate either the facts, or the conclusions derived from them on your own. Too many theories of too intricate or expansive (future joke here) a nature are involved for me to take time and space in this article to bring out all of their supporting details. So certain statements and observations will be made with no supporting material supplied as it is expected that motivated reader will explore the ideas in question on their own and reach conclusions that they find appropriate.
Still a Solar Cataclysm in 2012

In spite of the title, 2012 is still ALL about catastrophe, and cataclysm. To reach any other conclusion is to not be aware of manifesting circumstances. These include the many features of the planet that show scarring from past catastrophe as well as the amnesiac nature of our own species and the lack of any real history before 11,800 years ago. These facts include the earth, and all human history, all the “realstory” behind the 'history” that ThePowerElites want you to believe.

The facts pointing toward catastrophe, cataclysm, and extinctions here on earth over this next year and into 2012 are detailed now in hundreds of volumes; some of the best of these have been produced by Patrick Geryl and are available from his web site 'http://www.howtosurvive2012.com'.
Disagreements with some of Patrick Geryl's conclusions

Link to interview by webbotforum guys with Patrick

Patrick Geryl is space focused and correct about the conclusions that he presents on solar system activity. His understanding of earth is not as detailed, in my opinion, and it has led to some incorrect conclusions. First, much of his understanding of how a pole flip occurs, as well as how a crustal slip may occur, is dependent upon the idea of the center of the earth having a rotating mass of molten iron, that is creating the planet earth's magnetic field by virtue of its spin. Now note that Patrick Geryl's information about the magnetic field itself is correct. The earth's magnetic field, humanities shield, is failing, and has a period that is about 11,800 years between re-charges. But, in my opinion, the idea of a molten iron mass spinning in the middle of the earth is false. First, molten metals cannot hold a magnetic charge, nor can they create one, no matter how fast they may spin. Second, even if molten iron could hold a magnetized state, it would take a mass of iron approximately half again as big as the whole of the earth to generate the level of magnetic field we can measure now, let alone at its peak. Further, in order for such an iron core to lose its magnetic field, assuming it could generate one at all, would be logically in the process of slowing down in its rotation. The whole 'iron core' theory relies on thinking of the core of the earth as a dynamo. So in following with that, the only way that earth could have a weakening magnetic field would be if the 'iron core' were to be slowing down. IF THAT were the case, we would know about it. Further, what we laughingly refer to as 'mainstream science' has recently determined that the core of the earth is not only spinning faster than the crust, but has recently begun to accelerate its spin rate. So much for the iron core idea.

Further, if the earth did have an iron core at its center, then this core would cool over the billions of years, and would solidify, thus altering our planet's active state into more of a dead state insofar as the tectonic plates are concerned. So that does not work logically either.

Further, Patrick Geryl's conclusions about how the earth will react to the upcoming solar catastrophe are based on academic mainstream thinking about planet earth, such as the 'iron core idea' , that are not consistent with today's knowledge. Patrick's conclusion that the sun will expel vast quantities of south charged, high energy particles is likely correct. BUT the idea that, as with small iron magnets, our core will flip, is not correct. He uses the analogy of the core, being a giant iron magnet, being pushed over as one can push over one magnet with another. This is likely not going to happen.

There are inherent physical problems with the idea of the planetary equatorial bulge 'relaxing' to allow for crustal shifts as described. Further the theory does not say how the relaxing of the bulge would impact the 'iron core' and the rest of the planetary structure. Nor does it account for the reconstructing of the planet over the 11,800 years between these events to its present, bulged out shape (equatorial bulge, look it up). Also note that the academic view that the equatorial bulge is due to centrifugal force is wrong. Yet another article there. However, that said, it is clear that periodic cataclysmic (for humans) catastrophes happen. Repeat that: catastrophe happens. Periodically. So how to account for it? Necessary thinking since we are due to live through it in the next few years. And the evidence is that these periodic catastrophes can nearly finish off humans as a species. "

    END SNIP

Lost Horizon: Magnetic field reversal effects increasing

    2011 by The Extinction Protocol
March 1, 2011 - The Earth’s magnetic field is changing at an increasing rate, throwing off airports and altering the aurora borealis — and its effect on ordinary compasses could mean the difference between homeward bound and hopelessly lost. Earth’s northernmost magnetic point — or magnetic north — is distinct from its geographic North Pole, and scientists have long known that the magnetic poles are on the move. But the magnetic poles have been moving faster lately, sliding towards Siberia at 34 miles per year at a speed that’s accelerated 36 percent over the last 10 years, according to the United States Geological Survey, or USGS. “At Washington D.C., the compass points 10 degrees to the west of true north,” Jeffrey Love, USGS advisor for geomagnetic research, told FoxNews.com. “And this is increasing at Washington at a rate of about 1/10 of a degree per year.” But don’t touch that calibration dial just yet: The accuracy of compasses fluctuates with the field, he said, meaning compasses are more or less accurate depending on where you use them. “It’s different at different places on the earth,” Love said. The magnetic shift is costing the aviation and marine industries millions of dollars to upgrade navigational systems and charts, Florida’s Sun Sentinel reported. –Fox News
“Almost all tectonic movement can be linked to magnetic reversals. Seafloor spreading, sea level changes, mountain growth, earthquakes, and volcanism all seem to speed up whenever the frequency of reversals speeds up.” -Peter Vogt, U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office

Storm hits Perth Australia , February 28, 2011

    http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/1492222/latest-from-wire/

A sudden and severe thunderstorm has brought down trees and powerlines and cut power in parts of Perth's east.

The brief storm, that hit around 3pm on Monday, also ripped off roofing iron while heavy rain caused flooding in some areas.

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority said damage reports had been received from Muchea in Perth's northeast through to Kalamunda in the Perth Hills east of the city.

At 5.30pm (WST) Western Power reported there were about 25,000 customers without power due to the storm including customers in the Perth Hills and Swan Valley.

It said crews were working to restore power as quickly as possible and it warned residents to be aware of the dangers of fallen power lines.

Arkansas - Largest earthquake in 35 years - More than 800 temblors since September

1 Mar 11 - The central Arkansas town of Greenbrier has been plagued by more than 800 small earthquakes in recent months, says this article in the Kansas City Star. Last night residents awoke to the largest quake to hit the state in 35 years.

The magnitude 4.7 temblor - also felt in Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee and Mississippi - was centered just northeast of Greenbrier, about 40 miles north of Little Rock, in what is now being called the Guy-Greenbrier earthquake swarm.

"The earthquake activity varies each week, though as many as nearly two dozen small quakes have occurred in a day," says journalist Sarah Eddington.

"Researchers are studying whether there's a possible connection to the region's natural gas drilling industry.

"A six-month moratorium was established in January on new injection wells in the area to allow time to study the relationship - if any - between the wells and the earthquakes."

What woke Tarkington was a magnitude 4.7 earthquake that was also felt in Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee and Mississippi. No injuries or major damage have been reported, but the escalation in the severity of quakes in and around the small north-central Arkansas town has many residents on edge. Some said they're seeing gradual damage to their homes, such as cracks in walls and driveways.

"We probably had 40 to 50 calls last night," Greenbrier police Sgt. Rick Woody said, noting that the tone of the calls had changed. After pervious quakes, most callers simply wanted to find out if a loud noise they'd heard was an earthquake, he said.

"The fear had calmed down until last night," Woody said Monday. "People's biggest concerns (now) are whether or not these earthquakes are going to get any bigger."

Scott Ausbrooks, seismologist for the Arkansas Geological Survey, said Sunday's record quake was at the "max end" of what scientists expect to happen, basing that judgment on this swarm and others in the past. It's possible that a quake ranging from magnitude 5.0 to 5.5 could occur, but anything greater than that is highly unlikely, he said.

Rainbows appear above large earthquake zones just before a major earthquake appears.

    Hello All,

I wanted to add this video from another thread because I thought the information and facts represent themselves well enough.

It does not speak to the quake in Chile on 2/28/11, coincidentally mirroring the 2/27/10 quake of last year. The same goes for the New Zealand quake on 2/22/11 or the 2 volcanoes that went active in February. However, I feel the organizer of the video has made his point. As always, don't fear, but as I stated long ago on ol' PA1,...Doesn't matter how the event is triggered, it is the event itself that we want to account for.

I also thought posting this was important due to it's timeliness with my recent personal observations and thoughts of the sudden bombardment of doom material being foisted upon us here on The Mists. Folks, I think there is enough happening on our planet at this time to where we don't have to engineer additional rhetoric or doom scenarios. I do firmly feel that HAARP is being utilized due to the historical references related to this period of time. Thus, the public is more accepting than they are questioning of these occurences.

If you prefer, focus your intent on these events not occurring, or better yet, malfunctioning antenna's and equipment at HAARP. Manifest your experience, but be realistic of that which may be beyond controlling at this point.

Please continue to add fact based Earth related information on this thread, so that the clutter remains filtered and the facts can confirm or refute speculation, rumor and perceptions.

    Residents flee Bolivia's mega-mudslide

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-12621605

"This does not look like a landslide, but a massive earthquake."

Jose Joaquin Mamani is carrying on his back a few of his belongings, wrapped in a dirty white sheet. "There is nothing that can be saved," he says.

He is among thousands of residents evacuating Irpavi II, one of the many neighbourhoods in La Paz affected by last weekend's landslides which destroyed or damaged more than 1,500 houses.

Mr Mamani pleads for help. "We do not know where to go. We are just leaving this area.

"My house and cattle were buried under mud. But we are alive - that is the most important thing." His eyes get fill with tears as he talks about his children.

    'Help us!'
There is a constant flow of people leaving their houses in ruins to move to stable ground.

    Start Quote

This is the biggest landslide in the city of La Paz since records began”

    Luis Revilla
    La Paz mayor
They carry furniture, clothes - anything they can grab in desperation - to cross a swollen river that threatens to swallow the only bridge left standing.

"Mr President, help us," cries Rina Valencia Escalante.

She had been living in the area for more than 20 years and had not finished paying her house.

"I still owe $8,000 (£4,900)," she says, hoping the debt will be written off.

Ms Valencia, like most people here, did not have insurance on her property, and has nothing left.

President Evo Morales has promised he will not abandon the people left homeless, with the government promising to build new homes.

But for the more than 6,000 people directly affected by the landslide, the priority now is to deal with their urgent humanitarian needs.

    Water warning
On Tuesday, the government launched a national campaign to ask for money and donations for the victims.

The local and national governments have also mobilised thousands of rescuers, police and troops to help in the evacuation, and to relocate residents to temporary accommodation.

People are being housed in wooden shelters and tents as well as schools, and tonnes of dried food, clothes and mattresses are being provided.

Many residents are asking why they were not warned about the risks
The mayor of La Paz, Luis Revilla, told the BBC that since Sunday the affected area had almost doubled in size, from 80 to 140 hectares, but he believed the worst was over.

He said he hoped the weather would not deteriorate.

Despite criticism from residents, who complain they had received little information of the dangers their houses were facing, Mr Revilla said the authorities were doing everything they could considering the scale of the disaster.

"This is the biggest landslide in the city of La Paz since records began," he said.

"All the preventive measures we had put into place in the area proved insufficient to stop a landslide of such magnitude."

One of many involved in the rescue effort in Irpavi II is Fabian Yaksic, a member of parliament.

He says that, among the misery faced by homeless residents, thousands of people living on lower ground face the prospect of being without water for six months or more.

"We carried out an inspection and found out that, unfortunately, the main pipe [which takes water to many parts of the southern district of La Paz] is broken," Mr Yaksic says.

"A new pipeline needs to be built," he says.

But the pipes may have to be imported from as far away as the US, adding more time to the repair work.

    Exposed city

The clear-up is set to take months
Landslides are common in La Paz, and every year whole chunks of mountains crumble, and sometimes bury residents alive. Alain Malatrait, a French geologist who made a risk assessment of the city ground 30 years ago, told the BBC that 60% of it was prone to geological problems.

"The risks in La Paz are water erosion, gravitational movements [such as landslides], flooding by rivers and earthquakes," he says.

"There are several places that are exposed to landslides but it is difficult to know which neighbourhoods are more at risk now, and which ones will be next."

La Paz, a city of a million people, has grown rapidly, often at random, in the past few decades along the sides of its many canyons.

It also sits on an estimated 400 rivers and underground streams, which swell during the rainy months of January and February.

Given the known risks faced by the city, homeless residents are asking why permission was given for their houses to be built on steep slopes so vulnerable to landslides.

Perth has hottest, driest summer on record
    1 March 2011

Perth has had its hottest and driest summer on record. Just 0.2mm of rain fell from the beginning of December to the end of February, compared to the average of 32mm.
There were 59 days over 30 degrees centigrade, smashing the previous record of 53. There were also 15 consecutive nights where the minumum temperature did not fall below 20 degrees, breaking the previous record of 13 nights set in 1990. The average maximum temperature for the summer was a sweltering 32 degrees centigrade.
So why has Perth had such an extreme summer?
There has been a strong La Niña in the Pacific, which has led to the extreme rainfall in eastern Australia. This also tends to strengthen the easterly trade winds which blow hot dry air from the interior and reduce the number of weather systems moving in from the ocean, so western areas have been drier than usual.
Sea surface temperatures around western coasts have been 2-4 degrees higher than usual. In fact at the end of 2010 the sea surface temperatures reached record levels. This has kept the minimum temperatures at night high as the water has not been a cooling influence after the sun has gone.
The hot dry conditions led to bushfires in early February, destroying homes and businesses in the city.

    Hello All,

I wanted to add this video from another thread because I thought the information and facts represent themselves well enough.

Great feedback and advise, thanks craig! Couldn't find the video and the link didn't come thru confused

Far North Pole shaken by moderate quake
March 4, 2011 – NORTH POLE – A 4.8 earthquake rattles the far North Pole at a depth of 10 km at NORTH OF SEVERNAYA ZEMLYA (number 5 grid in Yellow) on the map of the Arctic Pole. The peculiar nature of the location of this quake leads us to conclude that since the magnetic north pole is now racing towards Russia and the Earth has been under constant bombardment from the rabid sheer of the solar winds over the last 48 hours, that this is a trembling effect in magnetic field generation- perhaps one more tangible sign that planet’s magnetic field dexterity is insidiously eroding. We’ve been watching seismic anomalies under Greenland and strain starting to show across Antarctica from the recent bout of planetary tremors that have occurred over the last 4 months. Below are the latest telemetry seismic data readings from (left) Antarctica and Greenland (right).

March 4, 2011 – ICELAND – An earthquake measuring 3.7 in magnitude on the Richter scale hit one kilometer northeast of Krýsuvík on Reykjanes peninsula in southwest Iceland yesterday and the tremor could clearly be felt in the capital region. The earthquake, which hit at a depth of 3.8 kilometers, was smaller than those measured in the area last weekend. There was constant seismic activity around Krýsuvík yesterday but no other quakes were stronger than three points on the Richter scale, Morgunbladid reports. According to the Icelandic Meteorological Office, there is no reason to conclude that this is anything else than a conventional series of earthquakes while the tremors are all at the same depth—so far, all quakes hit at a depth of three to five kilometers. –Iceland Review

Iceland - 800 earthquakes in one day - Activity has now slowed

1 Mar 11 - This website reports 800 earthquakes in one day on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula, while another reports 400 earthquakes in one day.

With all of this seismic activity, they worry that the Krísuvík volcanic system (also spelled Krysuvik) could soon erupt.

It does sound worrisome at first, but when I look at the Iceland Met Office website, I see that activity has slowed dramatically.

Gale-force winds disrupt power across Vancouver Islands
March 4, 2011 – VICTORIA – A wind storm forced the cancellation of ferries and seaplanes and took out power to tens of thousands of Vancouver Island homes Wednesday but did not pack the punch expected by meteorologists. Environment Canada had forecast sustained southerly winds of 70 to 100 km/h, with peak gusts from 100 to 140 km/h. The predictions were off by about 20 km/h, said Environment Canada meteorologist Dave Wray. “It was definitely one of the stronger storms of the season but it wasn’t busting any kind of records,” Wray said. “The system was just a little further offshore and north than expected.” The strongest winds on the coast were on Solander Island, off the northwest tip of Vancouver Island, where gusts were clocked at 90 knots (160 km/h). In Greater Victoria, the storm’s peak time was between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., with sustained winds of 50 km/h and gusts of about 70 km/h. By mid-morning the warm, southeasterly winds had driven the temperature up to 9.4 C. -Vancouver Sun

March 3, 2011 - CHRISTCHURCH - Strong winds whipped up huge dust clouds in earthquake-hit Christchurch Wednesday, as officials defended the devastated city's building standards. Gusts of 70 kilometres per hour (44 mph) buffeted emergency crews in the ruins of New Zealand's second largest city, hampering the search for bodies amid fears of masonry dislodging and trees toppling. "In some places it was difficult to stand up, you'd look across the city and see these enormous clouds of dust blowing down the main avenues — it's been a terrible day," mayor Bob Parker said. The winds stirred an estimated 200,000 tonnes of silt and sand pushed up from the ground after the power of the February 22 quake loosened the bond between soil particles in a process called liquefaction. Search and rescue teams donned respirators and dodged flying sheets of corrugated iron as they raked through the wreckage, while supplies of facemasks were rushed to Christchurch for residents. -Terra
