Remove Tepco Before You Remove That Fuel

The hot radioactive fuel rods at Fukushima Unit Four must be removed to a safer place as soon as possible. But the Tokyo Electric Power Company does not have the financial, scientific or engineering capability to do that and the other critical work there. We ask the government of Japan to remove Tepco and find a more capable team to take control of the Fukushima site. Please look at the letter sent UN Secretary Ban Ki-Moon ( http://www.nukefree.org/experts-letter-fukushima-un-secretary-general-ban-ki-moon ). Here's an idea. How about somebody writing a petition to one or more of the Hollywood film studios that request that the next alien movie that is released have costume designers reflect what is believed to be the known aliens on earth and not something make believe.

Terminator seeds could mean a few huge corporations totally control the global food supply.

Under pressure from big commercial farms, the Brazilian parliament is about to hold a vote that will allow companies like Monsanto, Bayer, and others to start selling so-called ‘suicide seeds’ to farmers. The genetically modified seeds can only be used once, forcing small farmers into buying seeds from Monsanto or others over and over again -- literally forever.

The use of these seeds is essentially prohibited under a UN treaty on biodiversity which over 193 countries, including Brazil, have signed. But if Brazil overturns its own ban then this will have huge consequences. Poor, small farmers could be locked into a cycle of endless debt and dependency -- and the rest of the world could be handing control of the global food supply to a handful of companies. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

The parliamentary proposal has already been approved by some key committees and is now hurtling its way to a full parliament vote, which could happen in just a few weeks time -- meaning we don’t have long to stop this proposal.

Sign this petition to Brazilian lawmakers urging them to reject any attempt to overturn the ban on terminator seeds.

Support human rights by speaking out against the unlawful detainment of Santos Bonacci

Ruth Ramos de Smith has stated

"I can now confirm that Santos has been taken by Queensland police. I spoke with Hiromi Bonacci (Santos wife) and according to her, about 20 police came on Tuesday morning with guns and took him against his will. At the moment, no one can confirm if Santos is at Queensland police station or if he has been taken back to Melbourne."

We currently have no lawful reason for the arrest of Mr. Bonacci and unless we are provided an adequate reason there should be no reason for his continued detainment.

If we allow this detainment to happen to Mr. Bonnaci unlawfully than what do the rest of us do when this same injustice is applied to us?

He was detained on Tuesday, August 4th 2015.
