    Lammas in South wales

Eco Village of the Day Hub10

Lammas exists to support the development of ecovillages in West Wales.

We have attained planning permission for an ecovillage in Pembrokeshire (called Tir y Gafel).
It has been designed using a model that can be replicated across Wales. It combines the traditional smallholding model with the latest innovations in environmental design, green technology and permaculture. Construction is currrently underway.

They are in Pembrokshire Mudras Mudras which is a beautiful part of South wales.

You can buy shares in the Eco village hub there online for £50 via paypal if so desired

    more info

The best way to support Lammas is to become a member. This is done by buying a share, which costs £50, and becoming a shareholder.

Once you are a member you will receive regular e-newsletters, be invited to General Meetings, and have the opportunity to participate in the project if you wish.

These shares are non-profit-making; you are investing in the future. The money raised from the shares will be used to further the wider aims of the project. (It will not be used to subsidise people's homes).

    Shares are withdrawable and non-transferable.

This means that it is possible for shares to be sold back to Lammas at a later date.

Eco Village of the Day Bridge10

Beautiful modern looking eco village in Oz with, Lake, Community Hall and programmes. Very nice Indeed.

    http://theecovillage.com.au

The Ecovillage, with its many water features, forests, outstanding landscapes and exceptional valley vistas is a veritable banquet of beauty for the senses. The built features have been designed to blend and harmonise with the existing landscapes and with charm and grace they achieve just that.

Picture the stone bridge crossing the main swale, the many exquisite ponds with their rock gabiens spilling water during a wet, the bubbling creek visible from the sitting platforms on the Ridgey Didge Bridge. The Village Green with it's picnic shack and open air amphitheatres offer a touch of paradise. Many of these features are constructed from recycled materials

Come for a visit to The Ecovillage - your eyes will enjoy the views.

We are regular people who are trying to find a better way to live our lives. Do we want to eat organic all the time, ride our bikes everywhere, and have bamboo "everything"? Sure! But just like you, we live in the real world; we enjoy hot dogs around the campfire, shop at supermarkets to save a few bucks, and drive our kids to soccer lessons. The important thing is that we are creating a life together which will inspire us and enable us to improve the way we lead our lives.

By living in community, we can make it easier to live the way we want – it becomes easy to buy organic local vegetables when the farmers drop them off at our doorstep each week, easy to send the kids outside to play in nature when there are 15 other kids playing on “dirt mountain”, and it is easy to drive less when our friends live right next door. Are we perfect? Of course not, but that’s just the way we like it.

In its “living Planet Report” of 2008, the WWF estimates that our demands are already 40% over the earth’s carrying capacity. Human activity is now on a scale which involves over half the biomass and severely impacts on the large natural systems such as climate and biosphere. Mankind will need to radically transform its way of life on the planet if that way of life is be viable for some kind of civilised life. If current trends continue over the next thirty years, the resource burden and ecological service burden imposed by humanity will require more than three planets earth.

A buddhist influenced eco and sustainable project in Scotland

    http://www.bodhi-eco-project.org.uk

Bodhi Eco-Project, a charity and company limited by guarantee, presents a positive and creative response to the ecological and social challenges we face today. It is a dynamic hub of activities and resources that empower us to live sustainably and harmoniously with each other and with this precious, living planet.

One of our main projects, in partnership with SCI (Sustainable Communities Initiative), is the design and building of an ecovillage, incorporating low impact, affordable housing; eco-friendly buildings; renewable energy technology and land stewardship practices.

Our wide-ranging educational programme addresses the need for us all to transition from an oil-dependent society to a more resilient culture. We want to show that the necessary changes are viable, life enriching and available to us now. To this end Bodhi is offering an educational programme for sustainable living based on permaculture, non-violent communication (NVC), deep ecology, mindfulness and the creative arts. This cultivation of human creativity will provide enterprise and employment within the ecovillage and throughout Scotland, reflecting peoples' wide ranging skills in areas of the arts, people orientated work, permaculture and eco-technology.
